Hey everyone. Today's song is Four Chord Song by the Axis of Awesome.
This is horribly accurate, but still so funny. It's something that we never really think about unless we start singing the wrong song, or when someone takes sound bites from other songs, but the concept of four chords is real. Some people try to put the shame on it, saying that we should all feel bad for liking four chord songs and not realizing that the music industry is 'playing us for fools.' Think about the math though! In 2014 there was just under 1200 singles released plus 635 albums (averaging about 10 songs per album) and that just for one year. Think about if you added up every single song ever created by anyone. There are only so many notes and so many ways to string them together, so yes we have a lot of four chord songs, it will make creating mash ups easier. I applaud the artists that heard those four chords and in their mind created something completely different. It's the same as what happens if you tell an entire art class to draw the same bowl of fruit. All the paintings would look different, despite the commonality of the subject, why should music be any different? Think about it.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 250
Hiya. So today I give you Too Much by Zendaya.
Now this is a clip from a movie so bear with me. I admit I really should not be watching things from the Disney channel still since I'm almost 22 and realize how ridiculous they make the content (something I was unaware of as a child) but sometimes I still watch out of boredom. The artsy kid in me can't help but be drawn to movies and tv shows about singing, dance or artists...no matter how stupid they look. It's also kind of hard to think about the people starring in these things are only a few years younger than me. It gives me the mixed feeling of "what have I been doing with my life" and "why on earth would they agree to this." I enjoy Zendaya as a person because I watched her do Dancing With The Stars and she really rose to the occasion despite being young, but some things are just odd. The movie this came from may not be something I recommend (an app that controls boys, REALLY?), but I do enjoy the song so that's what you get for today.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 249
Hey. So today's song is Anything, Anything by Dramarama.
I've spent the last two nights watching every episode made of Brooklyn Nine Nine. Why? It's my end of the deal to convince Anna to watch one of my shows. Sometimes the stigma of the things I like makes other people not want to give it a chance, so I end up going to the extreme to prove it's good. Examples in the past include me watching all the Lord of The Rings movies in one day despite not having any interest, and watching an entire animated series about a guy who's allergic to women....that one was weird.I'm just one of those people who really likes spending my time in any other world than my own, and yes I'm aware that that makes it seem like I hate my life. That notion would generally be correct. So I delve into movies, books, video games, and tv shows with a vengeance other people in my life don't share. It's an obsession that I will need to stop or at least semi replace with something a lot better for my health in the new year. Apparently in my age group being able to recite every character's bio and entire plot lines for a series isn't as impressive as going on a hike without dying....when exactly did everyone grow up around me? I don't know what happened, someone needs to explain the to me.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 248
Hello. So today's song is Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol.
Oh my sleep schedule is so fucked up. It's completely turned around again to where I sleep all day and stay up all night. This would be fine if I lived somewhere like New York, but where I live basically everything closes by ten pm, and plus during the holidays nothing is open in general. I learned something today about one of my new tv shows. There are actually three movies that predate it, starring the same dude. I torn about whether to watch those movies, then restart the series because it might not feel the same (since I believe the rest of the cast is different.) It's the same reason I like to choose either the movies or the books of stuff. What if one thing ruins the other? I don't want that. I would rather only know half the story than have the entire thing tainted....ugh I don't know. I think for now I'll stick with the series and think on the movies for a bit. Just a little heads up for you guys is that as I write this I'm finding new music from unfeatured artists that I hope to show you after the new year. So be prepared for that!
Peace.

Year 3, Day 247
Hi. Today's song is Take On Me by a-ha.
I just got home. I slept basically all day yesterday and then woke up at 5:30 when Anna texted me. She was bored and wanted to hang out, so we went on an adventure to find food and do things. In all actuality we just drove around contemplating what to do next when the restaurant we go to was closed because of boxing day. So we decided to go to Sammy's and hang out with Will, and get pizza. I have to say that the pizza guys were amazing. They were really bored obviously and were thoroughly happy when Anna went along with their humor and took it to a whole new level. We ended up discussing the brilliance of the idea of warm pop served in pizza boxes (this was all a very sarcastic conversation) while the other woman waiting for food looked at us like we were insane. We got to their place and hung out for a bit before Sammy got off work and was going to a Starbucks. Unfortunately it wasn't open even though Will told her it was, which was the icing on the cake of a very bad day. So Anna found a Starbucks that was open for another half hour and she and I got our shoes and coats on in a whirlwind of fury to retrieve the drink to make Sammy happy. By the time we got outside to the car, Sammy had pulled up in her car...so we whipped around beside her and told her to get in quickly. We got there in time, came back with the drinks and a content Sammy and watched the Princess Bride. Then Sammy went to bed so Will, Anna and I watched Zombieland, then Anna brought me back to my place. It was altogether great, but I think my sleep schedule is messed up now and I'll probably sleep all day again, so you get this blog now despite it being three hours into the day.

Year 3, Day 246
Hi guys. So today's song is Christmas TV by Slow Club.
Okay, so this song isn't exactly a Christmas song, which is why I didn't showcase it before the holidays, but I figured it would be a good one to wind down the festivities with. I also realized that I never actually told you about my Christmas when I said I would. So I might as well do that now. Going from where I left off my uncle Jody showed up with his wife and daughter, then proceeded to make fun of the ones who still weren't there. After about half an hour, Will showed up at the exact same time as my uncle Charlie and Kristine (his wife) to complete the group. We ate dinner, which was supposed to be a potluck type thing but actually turned into a everyone-bring-food-and-cook-it-in-grandma's-kitchen meal. In any case it worked out and then we opened gifts. Because we do the secret Santa typically it means there aren't any gifts, so basically we all sat around and watched Mya open her gifts. Luckily that took up enough time that when we were doing the gift exchange Sammy was off work and actually there. The gift thing went surprisingly well...it seemed like everyone got a gift that was tailored to them (except for me, but that's fine). My grandpa got car stuff, Sammy and grandma got books, mom got a gift-card, Will got Tupperware, Kristine got a spice rack, Charlie got Flames memorabilia and a Tim's mug and tuque, Betina got a Starbucks mug and I got a blender thing. The best was my uncle Jody who got the one I made. It was a collection of Rejected Princesses stories, and a tiara, feather boa, bead necklaces, and ninja swords. He made a big fuss about it, but I know for a fact he plays pirates with Betina's nieces all the time so it worked out. Plus it gave everyone a chance to roast him and take pictures of him rockin a hot pink boa. All the baking is gone because everyone ate it, and my uncle Charlie took a bunch home so it was a success. I am so cookie'd out now though haha! Oh well, it was a good Christmas and I think everyone had fun. That's what matters.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 245
Marry Christmas!! So today's song is The Christmas Can-Can by Straight No Chaser.
I made it!! I have three minutes to write this before I've officially missed Christmas so I'll make this super fast. You guys should know that I've actually has this song saved for years to show you for Christmas, but I kept forgetting. It's possibly my most favorite holiday song ever.My sister hates it because every year I bust this song out, and scream FA LA LA LA at her constantly. So we did breakfast and presents with my grandparents and mom (and Sammy and Will obviously) this morning then hung out and played games/cleaned up and set up my grandpa's new ipad. Then at around 4:30 I headed over to Sammy and Will's for their Christmas thing. Greg decided to play video games instead because he is a butthead, but Lauren and her boyfriend came. Lauren is Will's little sister and I was pretty skeptical when she mentioned bringing him, but I was pleasantly surprised. He seems kind of perfect. He's eighteen, lives on his own, has his own company, seems super intelligent and is really nice. Plus he understood most of the jokes and really cares about Lauren....plus he's not bad on the eyes. We ate pizza, played mario kart and watched the Lego movie, because we have no traditions as a grouping. My baking did go over pretty well I assume since Lauren ate about twenty homemade oreo cookies alone. I forgot to get pictures and now everything is gone so sorry about that, but oh well! Did I also mention I got gifted baked goods? I thought it was kind of funny since I did so much baking leading up to Christmas. They are different things though like lemon squares which I don't make so I'm curious how they'll taste. Anyway I thought I'd fill you in and now I'm off to sleep for a week.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 244
Hey. So today's song is Shake Up Christmas performed by Eclipse 6.
Okay, I figured I would write this while I have some time. It's basically at an in between point where half the people have come and gone or are on their way. I got up this morning and made cheesecake with my grandma. While we were doing that, my sister showed up with wrapping paper and my uncle showed up with his 19 month old. So grandma switched to making breakfast and we all hung out wrapping things, cooking turkey and playing with Mya. My uncle and Mya took off to go home and nap (and retrieve Betina) so Sammy and I put on our Christmas hats and went to Anna's to drop off cookies for her family. We talked to Anna for a bit, Sammy hugged her dad which made him hug me...so I shared an awkward hug with her dad then came back to my grandparents. As soon as I walked in the door I had to go back out and let my mom in the building. So right now Sammy has left to go to work, my grandpa has gotten back from dialysis and is eating peanuts beside me, and my mom and grandma are conserving tape so they can finish wrapping everything. This is as calm as it's going to get today... the rest of my family is showing up within the next hour, so I'll update you on that tomorrow. Anyway, the song!! This is my holiday song for this year that I found. There is always one that sticks with you. I had thought it would be yesterday's song, but from the first few seconds of hearing this one I fell in love with it. I know this isn't technically the artist, but if there is ever a time when a capella music can run free: its Christmas.

Year 3, Day 243
Hello. So today's song is Text Me Merry Christmas by Straight No Chaser ft. Kristen Bell.
I'm sorry! I know I suck with doing this in timely manner, but Christmas makes things crazy. Now that it is officially Christmas Eve Eve it's time to commence with the holiday cheer. I always have to hold off and keep it to just a few songs because I could eventually run out, and then Christmas wouldn't be fun. So this year there will be a lot of Straight No Chaser, because they are perfect, which includes this new song that came out this year. It got pretty popular due to Kristen Bell being on it and because it relates to the kind of world we live in now, so I thought it would be a good one to start off with. Plus it is so damn catchy that I've had it stuck in my head for days. No lie, I've been humming it to myself as I bake. Tomorrow is the start of my holiday celebrations so I apologize I probably wont get these up very quickly for a couple days, so bear with me and in the meantime: share your favorite Christmas songs (or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or whatever tradition you celebrate this time of year) in the comments.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 242
Hi. Today's song is Speed Of Sound by Coldplay.
When I was over at Anna's a few days ago she showed me this thing on the internet that she's doing. I thought it seemed pretty cool so I have been trying it out and want to share it with you guys. So it's called HabitRPG and basically makes your life into a video game. It's a great way for me to be held accountable to my new attempt and exercising, eating and being healthy in the new year. I say new year only because it's about a week away, but it is in no way a new year's resolution (because no one ever keeps those.) Anyway you put in daily tasks you need to complete as well as goals for completing stuff that would be done once and take longer than a day. You also can add habits, and have points given for good behavior or taken for bad. Since my health thing is something I'm doing by myself (because I can't count on anyone else) I can use this to make sure I keep up with it, because I don't want to die....in real life and in the game. Each task you don't complete and check off by end of day takes away health. So today was my full day and I'm trying to get them all done, which includes writing this blog post. So now I'm going to go check it off and I'll see you tomorrow!
Peace.

Year 3, Day 241
Hi. So today's song is Sunlight by Harlem Shakes.
Well today has been a busy day. My grandma and I did more baking until we ran out of ingredients, so there's still some to be done but we took out a huge chunk of the list. I wrapped all the presents that I bought for people, then while I was at it I wrapped the gifts my grandparents have bought. We cleaned the house today, put everything away from my baking fiasco at Anna's and then my uncle came over to visit. He wanted to bring my little cousin Mya over before Christmas so she doesn't play strange on the day....not that he needed to worry though she was totally fine. So while he dug in to the baking that was already done, she played with the cat and ran around touching fridge magnets and little rubber footballs. She also decided she wanted raspberries and so since I picked her up (which is a strange thing for me to do) so she could watch the raspberries being cleaned and cut, my uncle decided I could help her eat them. It was a test. He was laughing at me trying to get her to wear a bib and not get stuff everywhere...he loves to torture me. Eventually they left, I kept cleaning up the baking mess and then I watched The Reluctant Dragon on TV. I had never heard of it before, but it's a 1941 release that is following this guy around Disney visiting the animators. So you get to see how things were made then and it's really cool. I highly recommend you check it out if you're bored. Now I'm just getting ready for bed and hoping I'll have as productive a day as tomorrow, but I knew I needed to get this written. So here you go!
Peace.

Year 3, Day 240
Hey guys. Today I give you Dragon by Alyson Stoner.
So I had the fun task of dealing with drunk Will last night. Drunk Will is not a common occurrence, but he is annoying enough that you would never be able to deal with it on a regular basis.Basically this is how the story goes: While I was hanging out with Anna, Sammy and Will went with Hunter and Hunter's friends to the hockey game, but they had some kind of deal. The deal got them free pizza and beer and Boston Pizza, then a party bus ride to the game and nose bleeder seats. Well, Sammy wasn't drinking and Hunter drinks slowly so Will used up the drink tickets (totaling five beers) then had four more at the game. You need to factor in too that the game beers are referred to as cocaine beer...they don't actually have cocaine, they just get you a hell of a lot drunker faster than normal. After the game Sammy took the party bus home because the rest of them wanted to go out, but as soon as Sammy got back she got a message from Will about how they lost the other girls and to come get him and Hunter. We needed to get Hunter and her car back to her place for the next say so Sammy drove Hunter's car and I followed behind in mine. We picked them up and then drove to her house and dropped her off. By now there are four people in my car, one of them a very sick Will. I made it almost home, about a neighborhood or two away and had to pull over so he could puke....Well that didn't happen. Instead he ran down the fucking alley and deked into somebody's yard because he didn't want back in the car! So Anna chased him down the road and Sammy and I followed in the car. We ended up having to just let him walk for ten minutes while I creeped after him like some stalker, then he puked, then got back in the car and started weeping about his tooth. I was 100% done with him and just drove back as quickly as possible. Ugh, drunk people. Everyone says that I wont understand until I've been drunk, but I have zero interest in being that bad. It serves no appeal, hence why I'm almost 22 and still never been.So let this be a life lesson: don't get horribly drunk because you are a nightmare to everyone else and also if you are trying to take care of a drunk person do not let them out of the car.
Peace.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 239
Hello. So today's song is Do What You Like by Bad Boy Bill.
Anna's home from Lethbridge, so her and I have been attempting to do the Christmas baking.I brought a shit ton of stuff to her house so she didn't have to be around cats (allergies) and she said no one would be home today. Well that part was inaccurate because I saw every member of her family at one point or another. We managed to make chocolate chip, butterscotch, gumdrop, shortbread, and sugar cookies. We burnt some, had to start over from scratch on a few, but for the most part it was a success. We even tried to get somewhat fancy with the sugar cookies. We split the dough in half then added food coloring to one half, rolled out both balls of dough then put the blue one on top of the other. Then we rolled it up and cut it like a yule log. The effect was a pretty psychedelic looking batch of cookies. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but we still have a bunch more to do so once I've made everything I'll just do one big spread of it all on the table. So until that's done here's today's song. Enjoy.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 238
Hey. So today's song is Step Up JaConfetti.
I convinced Sammy to come out with me today to one of my favorite places to shop in: Cash Converters. Even though it's not technically Cash Converters anymore (they changed their name to the Buy and Sell Store?) it is still the same set up and deals and staff. Sammy has never been in there before, but Anna and I used to go all the time so she's heard the stories. When we walked in she was actually really surprised. I think she expected it to be shittier than it was haha. I went straight for the DVD's like I always do and she wandered around looking at all the stuff. She was having a really good time...until she found the clarinets. She got rid of her clarinet because she never played it anymore and wanted someone to use it instead of tarnishing in the closet, so now she gets irrationally sad anytime she sees lone unwanted instruments. It's no surprise to me that she spent most of her time looking at the guitars, clarinets and trumpets. It kept her busy and I managed to find gifts for everyone on my list, and it only cost 50 bucks. That's for five people by the way, so I'd say I did pretty good. I just dropped her back off at home because she needs to work, but now I'm off to wrap these things before anyone goes snooping for their gifts. Tell me, how's your Christmas shopping going? I hope you guys were smarter than me and finished a long time ago. Anyway enjoy the song and I'll see you tomorrow.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 237
Hi. Today's song is Brainwashed by Ultraviolet Sound.
Guys....I suck. I don't know what happened, but I was so damn tired today that I slept through all of my alarms and just woke up now, which means that everything I was supposed to do today has not been done. I'm so mad that I messed up because I really wanted today to be productive! I was going to go and get all the Christmas shopping done, then go pick up everything I'm missing for the baking and then I would have peace of mind! But no. No, today my body was like "oh hey you know what would be more fun? Sleeping forever!" Urgh. I don't want to go out now because it'll be crazy busy, so I think I'm devoting the rest of my time to doing a full clean (since Christmas is here this year) then at least that's done. When I clean I listen to the most ridiculous songs because I goof around as much as I clean. Usually it ends with me wearing sunglasses and singing into the broom/mop while dancing and pointing at stuff as if it's my audience. My dad caught me once and it was a very awkward situation for both of us... This song is an example of what I might play, so it can be the song for today. I'm gunna head off so I actually do something.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 236
Hiya. So today's song is Can I Get Get Get by Junior Senior.
I fucked up. I have just now realized that we are into the single digits counting down to Christmas and I have done nothing. I mean I went and got some more stuff for the Christmas give-away thing with my family, but I still have to do the other presents and bake all the things and decorate because we haven't even done that. Plus I'm hoping for a job interview this week. I'm going out today and refuse to come home until I have half of the things I need. If by the end of the day I have not wrapped at least one gift then I am a failure to society.
Okay Update: it has been approximately twelve hours since I wrote that first part (before I fell asleep) and I just got home. I did not do nearly enough, but I feel better about what I have done. I got my sister things that she will actually like which is quite difficult, and added another person to the list to shop for. That last thing might have cancelled out the first thing.... I also got wrapping paper so I can wrap Sammy''s gift and then I will have one done and not be a failure! I also keep forgetting to grab the box from her house for the Christmas give-away so I need to sort that out too. Tomorrow I'm going to try and get everything else done on my list once I actually make one, but I'm going to see if I can get someone to come with me. Shopping alone is boring.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 235
Sup! So today's song is Stop and Stare by One Republic.
You can skip the first minute to get to the song. Sorry some videos are weird. Anyway, I've been experiencing something kind of new for myself lately: some good self esteem. I'm so used to be on guard about everyone and assuming they think the worst of me, but a change has come in an unexpected way. My sister had gotten a new job awhile ago, and since we hang out together so much my name comes up in a lot of her stories. I guess when other people describe me I sound like a pretty cool person, because one of the guys she works with is interested in meeting me. She told him that I'm sarcastic and cynical (which is apparently okay) and showed him a picture of me which should have been turn off. Well....I got an invite to their Christmas party. The guy is older than me, and I have no interest in meeting him or dating anyone, but it feels really really good to know that I'm not completely undesirable. It's just that I'm desirable to people at least ten years older than me! This isn't the first older dude that has kind-of-not-really-back-hand asked me out so from all the experience of my life my generation is not the one that wants to date me. And I don't want someone much older than I am. Call me crazy, but I actually do follow the rule of seven, at least in my head I do. So I just wanted to share my little story and make sure you guys know that even if you aren't aware of it, someone out there likes you, so feel good about yourself. There's no reason not to.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 234
Hey guys. So today's song is No Church In The Wild by Kanye.
Today I was going to talk about the Chasing Life Christmas Special with was absolutely adorable and tugged at my heart strings, but I have a story about my absolutely ridiculous family instead. So my parents are divorced. I've never actually told you guys that, but I think it was easy to figure out. It was a really bad divorce too (which was also easy to figure out) and it's so rocky that the two sides of my family can not and will not interact with each other. This makes everyone living in the same couple of neighborhoods a little challenging because you can't help but run into people. Also the Fisher side is bitter because Sammy and I both basically disowned them and when I talk about my family it's almost always the Carswell side. So today my mom and grandma went shopping at Walmart for all the random stuff that goes in our Christmas stockings. My grandma does them every year, but this year she left it until the last minute (two weeks away is last minute?) and had to do it today. Well surprise surprise that my mom wasn't the only one out shopping with their mom, because walking directly towards them was my dad and grandma fisher. I wasn't there because I know better than to be out when he would (I have a sixth sense for avoiding people) but I imagine it looked a lot like those slo-mo car crashes in movies. Naturally my mom saw them first and not being able to full on run without causing a scene, she turned away put her head down and her hood up....my grandma was unaware of everything happening. My mom thinks she got away without being seen, but I highly doubt it knowing my dad. He is probably too butt-hurt to say anything (which is out of character for him) since the betrayal by me. And by betrayal I mean the part where I moved out of his house and he tried his usual bullying tactics on me, but I didn't let them work because I am the champion at playing his stupid little game. I'm hoping now that there will be no more holiday run-ins because seriously the last thing I need is for someone to start the fight about who's going where for Christmas. Do any of you have divorced parents who can be civilized? Is that a thing? Or is it always like two warring countries and I'm the borderline. I'm just wondering.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 233
Hi. Today I give you Rumour by Chloe Howl.
YouTube is such a good time waster. I realized that I wasn't actually subscribed to one of the YouTubers that I watch, and since they changed the formatting and everything, his videos weren't popping up in the recommended area. So I've been watching Tyler Oakley videos for the last couple hours. How upbeat and funny they are has helped to keep me awake, but now I'm stuck in that half awake half asleep haze where your eyes don't want to stay open anymore, and if it was too late to sleep three and a half hours ago it is definitely too late to sleep now. I still have another 3 and half hours until everyone else wakes up then one more hour until breakfast. I need to stay awake....maybe I'll go on tumblr for away, that's a pretty good time suck. I really should be doing more recipes but I'm so tired of those already haha! Okay I know I'm super boring and not interesting in the slightest so there is the song. Listen to it, do whatever.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 232
Hello. So today's song is Beachin by Jake Owen.
The rapping in this song is ridiculous. If you are going to do new country sir, then do not add in the rapping. First of all, you suck at it. Some people were made to speak their lines, some were not. For example Iggy Azalea has a voice bred for rapping (although that may just be my reaction to the accent that comes out a bit), whereas Miley Cyrus should never be allowed near that genre. I know that I can't rap worth a damn, so I don't attempt to. Second, don't ruin a good thing! If not for that part I would love the song because the chorus is so catchy. Ugh...I know genre mashing is second nature now, but sometimes I can't comprehend the results. Whatever, I'm done. No more ranting. It's too late for me to sleep now because I have to get up early so I'm gunna go fall into a black hole of YouTube.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 231
Hi. So today's song is Somebody Loves You by Betty Who.
As promised I shall explain my plan. My family has been talking about consolidating all of the recipes passed down through generation and generation instead of the vast amount a faded (to the point they're unreadable) recipe cards. I have heard about the goal to do this since I was a kid, and now I have decided to do something about it. I am making a legitimate family cookbook. I've done the formatting and now I need to take and transpose all of the recipes into text on the computer, then organize it all by section. Then I have to start putting them all into the formatting within their sections, and decide if there is too many and I need another book. I already titled it to give room for four cookbooks, so it's not a big deal if I do have a lot, but it's just a very time consuming project. Not to mention that I'm putting pictures in the book too, which means I'm going to have to make every single item before I publish the whole thing. Safe to say that this will take me more than a year to do. So that's what I've been doing, and why I've kind of sucked lately at doing the blog. I wish I could say it'll get better, but I can't promise. I will try though.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 230
Hey everyone. So today's song is Angel by Shaggy ft. Rayvon.
Remember when I told you guys that I had a lot of Christmas baking to do? Well even I have underestimated the task at hand. As of right now (because it's not even finished yet) there are seventeen different items I will be attempting to whip up. The list has doubled in size these past two days, and that's only from talking to three people. My family, or at least immediate family on the one side adds up to eleven. Yeah that's right, think of how big my actual complete family is and if I had to bake for them....it would never happen. Most of it at least I have sorted. I've either made it before, helped someone make it, or have a bunch of recipes to choose from. Some though will be a challenge. Like dream bars. I don't know what those are, I don't know what goes in them, I've never seen them before in my life. Cookies, loaf, squares, fudge, cheesecake, popcorn UGH...at least my family gets quite the variety. I will show you a picture of all my creations when I do it. And I will have pictures to go along with my other project...I'll explain tomorrow.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 229
Hey. Today I give you Get What I Want by Bitter:Sweet.
Okay, judge me if you want but I have been watching Girl Meets World. It's absolutely awful and I hate it, just another attempt to reach an audience that is growing out of this kind of stuff, but I watch because of the old cast of Boy Meets World. The old show was on tv today so I got to watch that and I noticed an amazing parallel. So Girl Meets World is in its first season, and the episode I'm talking about the daughter told Cory that there was nothing left for him to teach her. Well he was hurt by that, but never really touched on it the whole episode, and it went on as normal with all the happy go lucky as always. The Boy Meets World episode was from....maybe season 6 or 7 from right before they graduated high school. Cory is the teen in this one, and he (along with Shawn) tell Mr. Feeny that there is nothing left to teach them. Can you feel the parallel yet? Well at that moment with Feeny's reaction you feel physical unease at the horror of such a statement. And then the entire episode builds and builds on that betrayal, making you feel as bad as the characters do. In the end, the whole ordeal was actually another Feeny lesson, but the way it was tackled puts me at a loss for words. It's something we just aren't getting from the new show because there will never be another character like Mr. Feeny. I'm happy the old gang gets to put those characters on again and live their lives, but what has been done to the legacy of the show hurts my heart. If I ever have children, they will be watching Boy Meets World, and they will learn from it and fall in love with it just like I did. So if you watch the new one, but have never seen Boy Meets World, I suggest you rectify that immediately.
Peace.

Hi. So today's song is 50 Ways To Say Goodbye by Train.
Sorry this is late, I had to wait until I could get some sound since my computer is now unreliable for the most part. I have however discovered that whatever was initially making the sound not work in headphones either is gone, so I can at least plug in to listen to stuff. Just in time too because all the midseason finales are this week for my tv shows and I only watch on my computer. This one I have some observations about the video that I need to discuss. First of all: David Hasselhoff?!? What are you even do there sir? And okay, I can only speak for myself, but I do not socialize in the grocery store. I either run in and try to get all my stuff as fast as possible, or I shove headphones in and put on a giant hoodie so no one recognizes me or tries to talk. I can imagine though someone who's been dumped trying to tell their story to every goddamn person they see while tears stream down their face....I'm not so sure about the death theories. Does that happen? If there is a horrible breakup do people actually pretend that person died?? That seems like a guy thing, because girls tend to bitch after breakup (I say that because I can say from experience that it's true.) So I just want to know if you guys have ever made up a horrible excuse instead of explaining things? Let me know, I'm curious.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 227
Hiya. Today's song is Don't Know Nothing by Maroon 5.
So I'm at my uncle's again today. They had to go out of town for a funeral, which means I get free reign of the house for a few days. Just like last time I started off by belting music, although this time it was all Christmas music. The last couple of hours I've been stuck in a bad Christmas movie loop (a.k.a the cheesiest movies in existence.) No seriously, I cringe watching the awkward moments. For example: the Mistle-tones. I do like the movie, and the one guy singing Burning Love was possibly my favorite moment in any holiday movie, but some scenes I have to change the channel for. I am an awkward enough person in life, I can't handle watching other people go through it. These cheesy Christmas movies did give me an idea for a horrible holiday marathon though, so Sammy and I will be doing that on Friday. I have to choose two films, one will probably be Mistle-tones but the other one is a mystery currently. So if you have any ideas let me know!
Peace.

Year 3, Day 226
Hey guys. So today's song is Chandelier by Sia.
I had breakfast with my family this morning. That's not really odd because every Saturday I have breakfast with my grandparents, but today my uncle Charlie and Kristine came. If you've been following this blog for awhile you'd remember them as the ones who got married last December. It was fun seeing everybody, and a lot of crude humor made it's way across the table (as always happens with my family.) Charlie harassed me about jobs again, and told me to go back to Wholesale because he wants stuff from there haha! Yeah...not gonna happen. I have volunteered myself to do the Christmas baking this year, my way of contributing to the potluck-esque thing we're going to have, so I asked everyone for requests. I will have a lot to do. So far I know I need to make my grandma's signature cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies. Then along with that Sammy wants nanaimo bars that she can actually eat (she's lactose-intolerant and wants the super chocolatey things?!) and mini homemade oreo cookies because the regular size is gigantic. My grandma wants Christmas cookies/sugar cookies, and hasn't asked for but absolutely loves gumdrop cookies. Charlie today also said sugar cookies and shortbread cookies...then "basically anything we can't buy"...so in other words I need to assume I'm baking for an army. Not to mention I need to make crown shaped cookies for my Christmas box and I have never attempted that before. Good thing I've been baking since I could walk, otherwise this would be daunting. I'm curious if you guys do any baking over the holidays. Let me know in the comments!
Peace.

Year 3, Day 225
Hello. So today's song is Empire by Shakira.
My computer is scaring the shit out of me. I know I've basically run it ragged, and it's slowly dying, but now it's taken a turn for the worst. My speakers no longer work, the screen keeps freezing and it takes about half an hour just to load. So as I write this I'm currently backing up everything onto my new external hard drive. It's my early Christmas present to myself, because I kinda needed it. I've actually never backed anything up in my life, but I mean all of my stuff was saved on multiple computers and in my email which is online so I can access it anywhere...now I have one computer and I deleted all my old emails. So time to do the responsible adult thing and backup my files! I decided to clean out my computer before doing it, so I've spent the last four hours trying to do that. I finally gave up about ten minutes ago, there is just too many goddamn files. The problem is I have every document I ever used from school on here, so most of those are useless, but still need to be scrolled through just in case. I still have so much to go through, but I can't anymore. I needed a break, so why not do my blog! Today and for the near future are going to be radio hits again, because it's better to do those all in a row. Then I think after that I'll feature artists that I never have before, in any year, and that should be a fun week. So enjoy!
Peace.

Year 3, Day 224
Hi. So today's song is Bixby Canyon Bridge by Death Cab For Cutie.
Yeah, so yesterday I didn't last very long without a new rant coming up. Living in a city during winter is enough to get me angry within two minutes flat. Instead of complaining today though I want to gush because I just watched the first part of the Flash/Arrow crossover and it was possibly the best episode of anything I've ever seen. Every single character was on point and weren't left out which was really tricky considering there is ten of them. The reactions to things and interactions of the characters was so brilliant. I had to keep pausing because I was laughing so hard, and I'm pretty sure I watched the entire episode twice from the amount of stuff I rewinded to watch again. I'm going to explain my love for it without ruining anything...or at least I'm going to try. When they set up the initial plot for the episode I kind of guessed what would happen, and then the opposite did. Same premise as what I thought, but different characters in different roles. There was a lot of funny for the first little bit, and then the pain! I'm too emotionally invested. The ending though is really what killed me. The anger, the betrayal, the woman in the place! and holy shit the fire and the living and blaergh. If you don't watch those shows you seriously need to because it's amazing.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 223
Sup. Today's song is Take Me To A Higher Plane by Kate Nash.
So this video is actually a live session of the song, meaning it is all the raw recording you see going on in the video. Granted it means it isn't as polished as the CD version, but that's a given. It seems my mind has been made up for me on the two job dilemma. One of the jobs I applied to offered to give me one shift a week, which is really a non-job. Considering the time of the other one that I really want to overlap with this one shift, I've decided it's not worth it. I am not desperate enough to take a job that is only one shift, not even eight hours, and every holiday. If that's all a company is willing to offer, then they shouldn't even be putting that posting out when another employee can easily take on the excess labor. It just doesn't make sense to me...So that's my rant for today. Hopefully I've gotten it out of the way and the rest of my day will be stellar. I'll see how long it lasts, it'll be like an experiment. I'll let you know what happens.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 222
Hey guys. So today's song is No Envy No Fear by Joshua Radin.
I'm stuck at home today. My car is in for 'winterizing'. Usually I wouldn't even bother on my car, but my grandpa got a jump scare when he almost crashed so he kind of made the appointment for me then just stole my car to take it in...reasons my spare set of car keys should probably be taken away from them. Although it's a good system. My family collectively has keys to everyone's stuff. Like, I can get into my sister and my grandparent's houses; and my grandparents can get into everyone's places but my sisters, and can get in both mine and her cars. This way if we every forget our keys or lock our keys in the car (I've seen it happen) we aren't fucked. Since I'm stuck in the house I've been just kind of watching the grossness of outside through the window, and it dampened my mood so you get a slower, softer song today. It just feel right.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 221
Hiya. So today's song is We Are Not Losers Anymore by Actionslacks.
Dorry about the video, I couldn't find this song on YouTube anywhere else. From it though I bet you can guess where I heard this song. I kind of like watching the video because of the montage of Ryan and Espo. If you don't know what this is from, these guys are characters in Castle. As much as I absolutely adore Nathan Fillion, Seamas Dever is my favorite. It is also just the cutest thing ever that his wife on the show is his wife in real life. It makes me happy. So anyway, it's a new band, new song that's pretty cool. It starts out kind of slow and then gets more awesome as it goes, so check it out.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 220
Hey. So today's song is Dropkick Queen Of The Weekend by The Dudes.
The Dudes!! These guys are from my hometown and I love them, they are great. Listen to this and you are seeing a miniscule sliver of what the underground music scene here is like....well what it was like when they were still an underground band that played in the city's dive bars. The songs they make are just so happy and fun. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. So I have a dilemma of sorts. I've used my family ties to get my resume in at job positions in two different ways. One job is in my field, another pays really well. I haven't been offered either at this point, but I kind of want them both (at least for while) to pay off all my shit as fast as possible. I've never had two jobs before, but I know a lot who do and I have no idea how they manage. Should I try for it anyway and probably burn myself out in the process or just take one and wait out my money issues....I can't decide. This of course is assuming they even want me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Ugh. Job hunting is too much like dating. Both sides need to feel it and it takes a lot of effort on your part to make the other one happy... There's a reason I'm single. I'm going to keep thinking on this, in the meantime enjoy the song.
Peace.

Year 3, Day 219
Hello. Today I give you Freckled Mary by State Radio.
So I am dumb. I have been dumb my entire life. You would think that growing up in the same city where winter is always a shitstorm would mean that I could grasp the concept of bundling up, but no. No I have fucked myself over for eternity because I'm a little shit who hardly ever wore and coat and NEVER wore gloves. It's to the point where last night when I was cleaning off my car to drive home (in -37 with the windchill) I couldn't even do that because my hands were beyond frozen. Frostbite is real people. This has been a public service announcement from my idiotic self. As you can tell I'm a little mad at myself right now. I'm just staying inside today and not even dealing with all the people who forget every year how to drive in the winter. The accidents will be countless.... okay rant over: to the song! When I woke up today this song was the first thing that popped into my head. Quite a feat considering it's a song I've only listened to a couple times. I figured my brain was trying to tell me something so here you go!
Peace.
