Now this is actually an ABBA song, but I like the cover of this one better because I love Amanda's voice. This is the song because I watched Mamma Mia last night and well, this was pretty much the soundtrack of my dreams till my alarm clock went off. So this is the only song by this band that I know, but I like it. The voice is so gravelly. The dude's Mohawk is a little scary, but that's to be expected from someone like me. I grew up cocooned, there weren't people like that in my life until I had decided it wasn't for me. Although, I do wonder what I would have looked like with a Fohawk.....hmmm.....

Hi. So today's song is Welcome To My Life by Simple Plan.

So this is a song I hold near and dear to my heart. it's one of the songs that I talked about when I wrote about Evanescence. This got me through the hard times. It's especially good for today because I'm in a Simple Plan mood and I'm just a little pissed off right now that my friends keep ditching out on plans on my only day off. So, this is when I belt out sad and angry music, and it makes me feel a hell of a lot better. You should try it some time.

Today at work, they were playing country music in the back so it inspired me. So, it may come as a shock...or maybe not, that I actually like country music. When I was a kid it's all my family listened to. This was one of the songs that we always played in the car, with my mom, my sister, and me singing the words. I know them all, and the parts. This is probably the only song by Kid Rock that I can stand, but I love Sheryl Crow. Her voice is so pretty. What's your favorite country song?

I hate this day. It's the day crazy people go out to get deals on things, but at what cost? I have never gone out on Boxing Day in my life. Except today, I had to work. So. many. people. Hi. I'm in the mood for some classical type music. So today's song is Adagio by The Canadian Tenors.

This is just one more showing of why Canada is awesome. They turned out these guys. Even though the music is in a different language, and chances are you don't understand what they're saying, it's still beautiful to listen to. Fun Fact #1: The one guy played Andrew in the movie She's The Man. Fun Fact #2: My choir director went to college with the blond one. I think this is all pretty cool. And to be honest, nothing really shows the beauty of the world (to me at least) is music like this.

So I know it sounds stupid, and anyone who's British reading this could possibly be offended. But this is my blog, and I'll write what I want. I went through a Lily Allen phase around Thanksgiving. So that's why I honored her with the day. So, remember a long time ago I mentioned Video On Trial? Well they also did this video. And it was hilarious. Hi there. So today's song brings back many memories. It's Going Under by Evanescence.

I've always loved this girl's voice. How she is just so dark, but still doesn't resort to screeching like some fuzzy animal in the jungle. I still remember five of us piled into Sydney's car, blasting Evanescence and belting the parts. Pretty much any time I was upset, I would curl up listening to Simple Plan and Evanescence. It got me through. So for all of you out there struggling with something, try listening to this. It could help.

So today's song has a long history in my life. It's I'll Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan.

So this is today's song because it got me through the last two and a half hours of my shift at work. Standing there pouring coffee while singing this definitely got me some brownie points with co workers. This song is just great. Even with my friends, you can start saying the first line, and within seconds we're all belting the song at the top of our lungs. It's pretty much our anthem. So enjoy it. Today's song is an old favorite of mine. It's Pressure by Paramore.

When I was a little younger and more naive, I felt hardcore by listening to this. I honestly don't know what I was thinking, but I still love this band. The girls voice is great, and the video is about something. And something important at that. Plus, the girl's hair is pretty. It's like Vitamin C's hair, but not as scary. For reference, Vitamin C is the singer from Day 2.

I know, it's kind of a weird name, but hey! That's how I pick what to listen to on my ipod. So, the singer is really cute. Really. Cute. But I absolutely cannot stand how he dresses in the video. Oh my gosh, I can't even look at him. Remember what I said earlier about anorexia? Go eat a Whopper, buddy. And buy shirts and pants made for guys, not small teenie bopper children. So this'll be a short one. I had to work more than I was scheduled for today so I'm tired. This song played repeatedly when I was at work, and always on my break or when I was beside the radio. So, ya. Kids can take a lesson from this man. If your parents name you after a state, to be cool all you have to do is make it into two words to be cool. So hang in there, Nebraska! There is hope for you yet!

There are a lot of songs that I could have chosen by JT, because he really is a great artist. I ended up with this one because it's awesome, and a complete fuck you at Britney Spears. I think it's so funny that it's for Britney. It's so obvious that it's supposed to be her in the video. Of any of those stupid break up songs, this is by far the best. This is where lots of other artists got ideas for their videos. Like Kelly Clarkson and Ashley Tisdale, who were trashing their ex's apartments and showing off that other guys want them. And yes, I admit that the only reason I know about this song is because I used to watch True Blood. Key word in the sentence? Used to! I got a little tired of listening to Bill saying Sookie's name. Okay, this song is just weird. It's like, made for someone writhing on the floor with passion. The guys voice is just so low, and sexy. His picture kind of ruined my imagination, I must admit. Anyway, I really like this song, even though because of true blood, when I listen to it I see small children eating bloody hearts. Not appetizing...

Hi! I had no inspiration for a song today, so I started surfing YouTube. Today's song is Pyromania by Cascada.

So, I have never heard this song before today, but I just wanted to raise the question. How in the world do those guys dance with those huge helmets on their head?? It looks like their necks got stuck in a fish bowl. I do admit that it is strangely hypnotizing to watch though... Can I say just how great it is to FINALLY see a female singer from this generation that isn't slowly deteriorating before our eyes because of anorexia or one of the other millions of disorders plaguing us lately. Honestly, as someone who is not a stick, I salute those who have a normal body type. You are not chubby, you are normal. And to those of you starving yourselves: you are not normal... or even skinny for that matter. You are a pencil. Sooner or later, you are going to snap. Before that happens, please just go eat a Whopper. Now.

Sup! Yes, it's early in the morning. It's my day off so I've been watching the TV shows I always miss. One of those is Victorious. So today's song is Freak The Freak Out by Victoria Justice.

When I saw this, I just thought it was so hilarious. First because of her outfit at the beginning and the dance moves that went with it, but also because the bitches got pwned. Like, she jumped on the table they were at. I wish I had an opportunity and a backbone to do something like this, but I'd probably just biff it ruining my point. Hello, Hello. I just got off work and (for some reason) this is what I was singing in my head on the way home. I haven't even heard it play today, but I guess that's how my mind works. Today's song is Dynamite by Taio Cruz.

So this song has become legendary since it came out. Do you realize how many facebook groups now use the line from the song, but switched to something else. I can't even explain how crazy it is so I'll just show you some of my favorites. I throw my Spanish in the air sometimes, saying "Ay-oh, no comprendo!"  I throw my diapers in the air sometimes, Saying ayyyoo, what's that smell yo? So yesterday I realized that I mentioned Lady Gaga, but she has not appeared on the list. So, today's song is Just Dance by Lady Gaga.

When this song first came out, I was obsessed with it. I even made it my alarm ringtone, but after hearing it everyday as the thing that made me get up, I hated it. I wanted to destroy my phone. It's been awhile now though, so I can finally stand to listen to it again. Lady Gaga is just crazy. I know, everyone says it, but it is true. I like that about her though. She may be absolutely insane, but she is at least being herself, and doesn't care what people think. Everyone has an opinion about Lady Gaga. They either love her, or hate her. What do you think?

Hello. So I finally decided to watch Glee last night and they did this song that stuck in my head. So, today's song is Dog Days Are Over by Florence And The Machine.

It's amazing that she looks so normal in the picture here, because from what I saw in the video, she is crazy. Like, Lady Gaga crazy. Oh well, she makes good music, so I can put up with the insane music videos. I heard this song first in a commercial, and had no idea what it was, but it always got stuck in my head. So when I saw it on Glee, I was so shocked, and stoked. This is definitely going to be added to my ipod, and should be added to yours too.

So for those of you who don't know, Cassie was on the show Degrassi. She pretty much grew up on it actually. When she started singing on the show, I just loved the sound of her voice. So since I saw the newer Degrassi movie, I searched more music by her. It was vastly different than on the show. I like the music from the show much better, and this is what I'm showing you. It's the final song on the movie, and has a big epic scene of rocking out on a bus. So check out more of her stuff, you may like it if you like something with an edge.

Hello, so this is a new band that I found and I really like them, so today's song is How You Love Me Now by Hey Monday.

I just love the voice a lot. They seem like their having so much fun. See, this is why I wanted to be in a band when I was younger. I had been aiming for something like this! The band just looks so hardcore, but their sound isn't. And I mean that as a good thing!! I like that they can be who they want to be as a band without the pressures of fame bearing down on them. Hey guys. So this song gets stuck in my head so easily, which is ridiculous because it isn't the kinda thing I should like, but I do. It is I Love College by Asher Roth.

It is just so damn catchy! And I can't believe how good of a rap (type) song it is for a white dude. Now I'm not racist, it just is unexpected. All I can say is that even though I don't go to college and am so not a party person, this song makes me feel like it. It is now my life goal to learn all the words to the song. So this is a sister act, which is actually really cool that they're musical together. My sister and I are both musical, but in very different ways. I really had no idea who the little sister was until they did a movie together because the one with the curly hair, Aly, has done lots of TV shows and movies and such before. I've heard a lot of the songs by them, and the type of music they write really fits in to the moods I get frequently. Definitely good to listen to while chillin' at home like I am. If you have no idea what that means, every year Chinook has these people dressed up in costumes and they stand there on pedestals. They move every once in awhile, but mostly they are perfectly still. If it was me I would fall over... Anyways they had some dressed as the sugar plum fairy and anytime we saw one we all started to sing this song. It was weird, and epic at the same time. So, this holiday season when you think of the sugar plum fairy, you can sing this and be epic with us too!

Hi! So, I don't know why, but today I was munching on the cookies my grandma baked (aren't cookies just so much better right out of the oven) and a song from Anastasia popped into my head. Therefore, today's song is Journey To The Past by Aaliyah.

This has always been my favorite song from the show. I tend to have the not as well known songs as my favorites. So I find it strange that this was in my head, seeing as I haven't watched this movie since junior high when we studied the actual Romanov family. Part of our class work was spend listening to the song about Rasputin. You know, "Ra Ra Rasputin lover of the Russian queen..." We had a slacker social class, as you can probably tell. Oh well, that's it for the day. Now I think I'll go watch this movie.

It has a good concept too, that video of his. They made it the same way the song is: simple, elegant, beautiful. But if a dude has broken one of my tapes like that i would have flipped shit, not just smiled at him. I guess it doesn't matter anymore though since no one listens to tapes now anyways. Whatever.

He's going to have a hard time topping this song, as far as the female population is concerned. Oh well, we'll see how he does.

Hey, so I watched Easy A again today. You know, I wish so much that I could have my own musical number for no apparent reason, so I'm showing you the one from the movie. Today's song is Emma Stone singing Knock On Wood.

Now way back when, I had talked about how people should either act or sing. Emma Stone has always been just the actor, and she is a really good one, but I had no idea what kind of pipes she had on her! Like, Damn. That girl can sing.

Anyway, Easy A is a hilarious film and I recommend that everyone goes to watch it. It just keeps you laughing the whole way through.

This song I actually used in a project in grade nine. My english teacher told us to rewrite a song that would help us learn in one of our classes. So my friend and I wrote this song about extinction to help with science. Unfortunately I can't remember any of the words to our version, which isn't unheard of since it was more than three years ago, but it still makes me sad.

This song is perfect for a girl's power jam and sits in the same category as Aretha Franklin. The women with soul who make us white girls pretend we have the pipes and attitude of these awesome women. For this, I salute you mothers of soul.

So...it's early. I've been trying to upload those videos from the jazz night to YouTube (I had forgotten about them forever) and that's kind of taking some time. So I've been watching videos and one of them played the song A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton. So that is today's song.

So this song isn't very new, and it isn't very old, but it's still an awesome tune. And I'm pretty sure everyone in the country knows it. I guarantee that if you play the little opening piano piece people will either start singing or be like "that is so familiar!" It's such a simple song too, by it just being her and her piano to make the parts that stand out the most. Plus the fact that it is her playing and not someone else makes it all the better. I can't really rag on musicians who can't play though because I cannot play anything, but I do sing and write...kind of. Anyway, I just think people who play themselves are a level or two ahead of the others.

I hate my life today. Why you may ask? Because all last night and all day today it has been snowing in Calgary! Of course this is Canada so snow is to be expected but I just hate snow so much. So I have a few challenges for you today. 1) find out who originally sang this song, it might be difficult. 2) tell me what your favorite Christmas carol is, I don't care if it's a Hanukkah song, or a different religion, just tell me what you love to sing at this time of year. and 3) for those of you who are pro enough, make a recording of you singing your favorite Christmas song. Put it on YouTube, send it to me, doesn't matter...let's see who's brave enough to do it.

Day 24

So I was challenged by my friend Anna to find a 70's rock band that I liked. Well to be honest, it wasn't that hard, all I had to do was look on my ipod to find the great ZZ Top. So today's song is Francine by ZZ Top.

So I know the video has a live performance of the song in 1980, which isn't the 70's. This song is from their second album so it came out well before the 80's, I just couldn't find an earlier recording. So there you go, Anna. ZZ Top can rock hard, actually play instruments and put on a really entertaining show...plus the beards are just too epic for words.

Hello, so I haven't been listening to music all day. So today's song is the only song I've heard which is Love by Matt White.

This is such a pretty song that I have always sung along to...even though I have no idea what the words are. Oh well, that's pretty normal for me. Sorry it's so late but hey! At least I got it in today and not tomorrow :P

Day 22

So I'm a fan of the show Hellcats and they featured a song that I really liked. Today's song is Stutterin by Fefe Dobson.

Now it may just be because I'm a Canadian myself, but when I find Canadian singers that made it big I just feel like dancing. This may seem random, but she is a Canadian singer, so it's not just a thought that popped out.

Now in her videos she kind of scares me. She seems to dance, if that's what it's called, on the roofs of cars all the time. And all I wanna say is poor guy that she was in his room :P

Whew! Okay so today I was with my friends driving around in the car for hours and (no offense to anyone) there is only so much Zeppelin that I can take, so I started to listen to my ipod. One particular song I ended up listening to over and over, so it is today's song. It is called Ego by The Saturdays.

So I found these guys on Jango, and love their stuff. I don't even know what to classify their music as, it's like rock, op and techno all mixed in to a giant ball of awesome. So if you haven't heard there stuff, look it up because chances are if you like the stuff I've shown you so far, you'll like them.
