I've been watching people react to watching the Titanic for the first time, and it made me realize just how much I cannot watch this movie. I can't remember the first time I saw it, but I do know I was too young because it is the reason why I have zero interest of ever being in the middle of the ocean for anything. Even just watching the scientific recreation of what happened makes a chill go up my spine. Watching these people react to the scenes of the boat sinking and all the screaming give me so much anxiety. If I let myself think too hard about the reality that real people dealt with this and died on the real titanic, I fully lose it. I appreciate the movie though for throwing in some of the real stories of the real people, like the musicians and the older couple. If you haven't watched that movie ever, you should. It fell into the trope of a romance movie when it was first released so a lot of people didn't see it, but it's a very important piece of history and shot in a way that you feel the desperation and fear. Which James Cameron really needs to learn not to almost murder his actors on movie sets, but I digress. Also don't get me started on the boats that could have come to their aid in real life but didn't. And the little detail that the movie did with the runtime feels like a respectful (albeit horrifying) way to acknowledge the real life disaster. The length of the film, if you take away the modern-day scenes and the credits, is two hours and 40 minutes long, which is the same amount of time it took for the Titanic to sink. I've seen people online before that only know of the boat as from the movie and don't know that this really happened, and that is unacceptable. The best way we can honor the horrors of history is to not let anyone forget they happened. So watch the movie, and mourn the people who died and who survived. And if you want to feel extra horrified, here's a video of what the sinking is thought to be like in real time.

Good Morning! Today's song is Soul Kitchen by The Doors.

So I'm going to give my opinion on a bit of discord that keeps popping up when I'm just around on the internet, so if you wanna skip that, just end right here. So you guys probably know I used to watch Supernatural, then just stopped when the show got too ridiculous to follow anymore, but I was always still fans of the actors. So the show ended, as far as I've heard it was because Jared had a new show to go to. So everyone went their own ways, Jensen joined a different show, Jared has his show and they were all good. Then they did a Q&A together where Jensen mentioned he was working with the network on some different pilots for tv shows that we'll be excited about. Jared then pops in and basically invites himself to be part of those which I thought was kinda rude, but Jensen played it off and didn't say anything. Then we find out one if the potential pilots is a Supernatural spin-off and Jared wasn't told. Which is bad form on Jensen, I mean he doesn't technically need to tell him, but it's a nice courtesy when you've worked together for 15 years. Then Jared blew all sympathy I had for him out of the water by deciding to act like a pissy 12 year old and send passive aggressive tweets to a bunch of his old Supernatural co-workers about being shut out. And just from how he reacted I can't say I blame them for not including him because it was juvenile. It's to the point now that the creator of the show actually apologized to Jared which I don't think he needed to do after Jared's behavior. Reports say that Jared and Jensen made up, but obviously they talked behind the scenes about it rather than make another public spectacle. The issue of whether the fans want the spin off or not is a moot point (the one fans begged for and got was cancelled so I don't see this one doing any better), it's more about how it's become acceptable to throw tantrums in the public forum and then expect someone to appease you. Did both guys do wrong? Yes. Am I biased based on how I already felt about the actors? Probably, but I used to like them both... now with Jared not so much. You can look up the situation and form your own opinion on it, but this is just kinda how I see it.

Good Morning! Today's song is Istanbul (Not Constantinople) by They Might Be Giants.

They Might Be Giants is and alternative rock band active since 1982. They are currently made up of John Flansburgh, John Linnell, Dan Miller, Danny Weinkauf, and Marty Beller. Past members include Hal Cragin, Brian Doherty, Jonathan Feinberg, Dan Hickey, Kurt Hoffman, Graham Maby, Tony Maimone, and Eric Schermerhorn. Originally they performed as El Grupo De Rock and Roll for a Sandinista rally, then switched to this name based on a 1971 film called the same. Over their career they've released a whopping twenty-two albums, the first in 1986 and the most recent in 2018. They also have seven EP's, nine live albums, ten compilation albums, and a bunch of singles. I'm honestly afraid to delve too deep into their history because I will be here all day, so I'm leaving it vague and if you want to go deeper I wish you luck. And yes, this song is on here because of the reason you most likely think, and I have more songs from the show slotted to showcase as well. So prepare for that.

Good Morning! Today's song is Lost Woman by The Yardbirds.

Lots of bands are known for something, whether being the first female rock group like the Runaways or being the most inducted Hall of Fame artist like Eric Clapton (which is relevant for this post), but the Yardbirds are known for starting the careers of many famous guitarists. The band first formed in 1963 and was originally called the Metropolitan Blues Quartet. They played a couple gigs before changing the name, and there are some theories about why the Yardbirds, but nothing confirmed. They gained traction after becoming the house band in the Crawdaddy Club which is also actually where they got their manager from. Their guitarist left, and was replaced by Eric Clapton before they toured with a blues legend. They signed with a label in 1964 and finally got a song that topped the charts. Clapton didn't like it, hating the commercial approach of pure blues and left, but recommended a new guitarist before he took off. That guitarist was Jimmy Page but he didn't feel prepared to enter the group for a number of reasons so he suggested Jeff Beck. Beck brought a different sound to the group which was on par with where British music was heading at the time, so the group took the opportunity to experiment with new genres, making some eclectic sounding music. This is when the band really hit their stride. In 1966 the bassist quit at a drunken gig, and Jimmy Page, who was in attendance, agreed to play until another member was rehearsed enough to take over. Page went on tour with them, and ended up taking over guitar when Beck got sick, finishing out the tour. Once Beck was able to come back, they both stayed and it became a dual guitar band. With more popularity around the guitarists Beck ended up doing solo work, gravitating away from the band, and eventually left. Page stayed on as the guitarist, and the band continued to try more eclectic things, touring a lot, but their popularity was starting to wane. By 1968 all the members were drifting into other interests, either pursuing a different style of music or other artsy professions but they agreed to do one last tour together. Page and others briefly performed as the New Yardbirds before finally ending up with the Led Zeppelin name (which I think you all know by now). That was it for the Yardbirds until they made a comeback in 1992, releasing a new album, touring, and having all kinds of members switching in and out. Quite the history to absorb. Anyway I hope you guys like the song. I know I do.

Good Morning! Today's song is She's Not There by The Zombies.

The Zombies is an English rock band and has a long history spanning from 1962 until now. Currently members include Rod Argent, Colin Blunstone, Steve Rodford, Tom Toomey and Søren Koch. The original members formed the band while they were all still in school, and played with borrowed equipment. They originally named the band The Mustangs, but that was a common name, so it was changed to The Zombies. This was at a time before the whole world became obsessed with the walking dead phenomenon. After some member shuffling, the were signed once winning a competition, releasing their first single in 1964 which hit #2 on the charts. They got swept up with the British invasion and did touring around the States in the 60's while releasing more singles, none that achieved the same fame as the first one had. The release of albums with two different record companies were deemed failures, leading the band to split up in 1967. The label asked them to come back for another album the next year, but ultimately that was cancelled. The members all went their own ways into the music business (some front and center, and some behind the scenes) and refused to reunite when their music started gaining popularity. Because they wouldn't though, some fake bands toured under the name, effectively duping audiences and capitalizing on the actual band's hard work. Fun Fact: members of the fake band would go on to form ZZ Top... which kind of makes me hate them now. This continued for a couple decades, before the group did come back together for a new album in 1990 before disappearing again. Two of the members who had been around from the beginning (Colin Blunstone & Rod Argent) started doing music together in 2001, switching back to The Zombies name in 2004 with some new members. The new Zombies kept touring and the original members did get together for a 40th anniversary celebration which was followed by the release of some previous material made but never put out. A sixth album was released in 2015, and two years later the last surviving original members reunited for the 50th anniversary. As far as I can tell, a version of the band is still going strong now, but it's debatable which era is the true Zombies. It's an interesting question, so if you're curious listen to the catalogue and tell me what you think.

I figured if I was giving you Queen, I should also take the opportunity to give you some Beatles too. They're both kind of the big groups, and though I am not the biggest Beatles fanatic, I do enjoy them so I'm featuring them again. I've written about the group before so I'm not doing it today. I'm kind of lagging on doing the blog lately because my sleep is messed up, but I'm going to try and get back on track. Hopefully it will be soon. For now, you get a classic.

Good Morning! Today's song is Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen.

This song is kind of a palette cleanser because I don't think I have anything saved that flows nicely from yesterday's song. So instead we've got some random Queen. And I know I've featured and written about them before so this is also a day of me just posting about something random that happened today, so here goes. I watch a lot of reaction videos on YouTube and I found one for a movie that I absolutely adore called Fried Green Tomatoes. I've never seen anyone react to it before, and I gotta say this girls reaction was top notch. It is absolutely how I felt watching the movie the first time. If you haven't seen Fried Green Tomatoes, go watch it first because it really is awesome. Then you can see the reaction and laugh along as I did while you watch her slowly get crushed by the emotion of the story. Enjoy!

Good Morning! Today's song is Free Animal by Foreign Air. 

This is an American duo active since 2015 and made up of Jesse Clasen and Jacob Michael. They met when they were both playing in bands at the same place, and the two kept in touch. Then in 2015 when they were both between projects they started collaborating. This song was their debut single. They followed it up with an EP in 2016. Since then they've released a couple more singles over the years, so there's more for you to check out if you like what you hear.

Good Morning! Today's song is In The Heat Of The Moment by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

So this is a band, but it is a moniker for a solo singer. Noel Gallagher was originally in the band Oasis, but he left in 2009 to go solo. This group was formed in 2010 and, along with Noah Gallagher, is made up of Mike Rowe, Chris Sharrock, Russell Pritchard, Gem Archer, Jessica Greenfield, Charlotte Marionneau, and YSEE. Past members also include Jeremy Stacey and Tim Smith. The debut album came out in 2011, and two others have been released since then, one in 2015 and the most recent in 2017. There have also been EP's and other albums that were collaborations that you can look up if you want. The EPs specifically are the most recent work, with two released in 2019, and another in 2020, followed by the release of a Greatest Hits album earlier this month. So go check that out.

Good Morning! Today's song is Rollercoaster by Bleachers.

 

So my province is apparently lifting all COVID restrictions at the end of the month, and I am pretty freaked out by it. I did finally get my first shot thankfully, and in about a month I can get the next one, but I still think it's way too soon for them to be going "everything's fine!" Especially considering vaccines don't mean you aren't getting sick, it just means you probably wont be symptomatic. I think the mass population keeps forgetting that vaccines are not cures and this really is just a band-aid over a bad situation still. But apparently we need to be open for summer so who cares about a global pandemic. Yeah... I will still be hiding in my house and wearing a mask if I have to go out. I haven't gotten sick yet and I'd like to keep it that way. Basically this was just a rant for me, but here's a little reminder again for you guys to stay safe, get vaccinated, and just in general use your brains when it comes to acceptable risks.

Good Morning! Today's song is Waste A Moment by Kings Of Leon.

Kings Of Leon is an American band active since 1999 and is a family group made up of Caleb Followill, Jared Followill, Matthew Followill, and Nathan Followill. The band is named after their grandfather. The group started with Nathan and Caleb who moved to Nashville and got interest from a label who wanted to find a band for them, but the boys said no, and brought in the others and learned to play. Jared was in high school at the time, and then they went and basically kidnapped their cousin Matthew to join the group, which is pretty hilarious and accurate for family. That's how mine is at least. Their first EP and debut album came out in 2003 with another album the next year (or year after depending on where you live). Since then they've released eight more albums, gone on multiple world tours, and has been nominated for and even won some Grammy Awards. Their latest album was released this year so if you like what you hear, go check that out.

Good Morning! Today's song is Wanted a Name by Frenship featuring Yoke Lore.

So Frenship is a American duo active since 2013 and made up of James Sunderland and Brett Hite. They met each other at Lululemon where they worked, and have since released an EP is 2016 and an album from 2019. Yoke Lore is the stage name for Adrian Galvin, a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist active since 2016. He started out playing drums in Walk The Moon but left and started a project called Yellerkin in 2013, before going solo in 2016 with an EP. Since then he's had five more EPs and been part of other songs like this one. So I hope you enjoy it.

Good Morning! Today's song is Drifting by Dirty South featuring Ruben Haze.

So Dirty South is the stage name for Dragan Roganović, a Serbian/Yugolsavian DJ active since 2004 and based out of Australia. He made tracks on his home computer and sent them worldwide, earning him a deal with a label in 2005. Since then he's made four albums, the first in 2013 and the most recent in 2018, and many popular singles from 2006 and onward. He's also released two EPs, one in 2006 and the other in 2019. He's been nominated for a bunch of awards, including two ARIAs, and has placed in the Top 100 DJs list every year since 2007. This song features Ruben Haze, who I don't have an official bio for so bear with me hear. His real name is Rudy Sandapa and he's an Australian singer. He's done writing, producing, and obviously vocals on tracks, but still isn't that well known despite earning lots of awards for his work. That's really all I know about him and I can't guarantee it's correct, but hopefully it is. So if you like the song check them out and see what else you can find from them.

Good Morning! Today's song is In Degrees by Foals.

Foals is an English band active since 2005 and made up of Yannis Philippakis, Jack Bevan, Jimmy Smith, and Edwin Congreave with past members including Andrew Mears and Walter Gervers. The group was actually started by Mears who left shortly after to go back to his other band, and the group was made up of people who had pretty much all been in others bands first. They released some limited edition singles in 2007 before releasing their debut album in 2008. They spent 2009 recording their next album in Sweden before it was released in 2010. Their stuff started to get used in pop culture stuff afterwards, and the album even earned them a nomination for a Mercury Prize in 2010, which is a UK best album award for a British or Irish group. Their next album came out in 2013 followed by a bunch of touring before they began writing again in 2014, releasing the next album in 2015. They toured again and started writing again in 2017 before Gervers left, then released two albums in 2019. They were supposed to tour in 2020, but because of the pandemic they've pushed it and should be happening this year so keep an eye out for that if you're interested.

Yes, it's more from Lindsey. I don't care, I like it, she's just so good so you guys get to put up with my appreciation for it. So I finally sat down and caught up on watching Fruits Basket and let me tell you I am losing it. I simultaneously want all the episodes this second and want them to stop coming because very soon we'll reach the very end and I don't want that. I don't watch a lot of anime shows, but there are some that I absolutely adore and this one has easily become a top 5. If you haven't looked into it yet and are interested, seriously go watch. It's awesome.

So Alexi Couto is a Canadian singer active since at least 2014 when she started a YouTube channel. There is no official bio on her so I can't tell you for sure how her career has gone, but she has been active recently and gaining influence, even if her YouTube channel doesn't show that. I've had this song saved for a really long time so it's nice to finally be able to use it and show you guys. So I hope you enjoy it.

Good Morning! Today's song is Into The Sun by Sons of the East.

Sons of the East are an Australian group active since 2011 and made up of Nic Johnston, Dan Wallage, and Jack Rollins. Their first EP was released in 2013, before another came out in 2015. This song is actually the lead single off of that second EP. They had a third EP released in 2019, followed by a European Tour so the group is still going strong, even if there isn't too much for me to tell you guys about them. But their sound is amazing and this song makes me feel calm, so I hope you give it a chance and it makes you feel something too.

Good Morning! Today's song is She Lit A Fire by Lord Huron.

So my aunt has been constantly hounding my grandma and I about getting vaccinated this week. My grandma needs her second dose and I need my first because I couldn't get it before my surgery, but of course my province keeps opening it up to everyone else before I can book my appointment and then I have to wait for the next group to open up. While I'm writing I'm also sitting in the queue to try and book for about the fifth time today. I realize this is a first world problem and that most countries don't have vaccines at all, but this is where I'm at. I can't give vaccines to a different country by abstaining from getting one, I just have to hope that once Canada is done we somewhat adopt another country and make sure they get their population done because we can't get the pandemic over with unless the whole world has an immunity. Otherwise we'll keep getting more and more variants. So if anyone reading this has power or a voice to lend to the people who make these decisions maybe pass that sentiment along because I don't want to do this again in another couple years. And get vaccinated if you can.

Good Morning! Today's song is One by Three Dog Night.

This group is a rock band who was active from 1967 to 1976, the again since 1981. The list of members is long and obnoxious, so I'm just going to list current members which include Danny Hutton, Michael Allsup, Paul Kingery, Pat Bautz, David Morgan, and Howard Laravea. The name actually comes from Hutton's girlfriend June Fairchild, and is inspired by stories of Indigenous Australians who would sleep in holes in the ground with dingos. On colder nights they apparently would sleep with more than one, so if it was freezing, it would be a three dog night. Originally the group started off named Redwood, but abandoned that name in 1968. They've released 11 albums to date, and were actually the most successful band from the United States in the late 60's. This song was their first gold record, and was written and record by Harry Nilsson, but this group made it famous with their version. In the 70's they has a lot of member shuffling going on, legal battles, and personal issues for members. So I think all of that plus their declining popularity is what caused them to leave the industry. They reunited in 1981 with almost all the original members, but another round of change ups happened throughout the late 80's. They released a 35th anniversary hits compilation album in 2004, and then another with their greatest hits live in 2008 featuring recordings from past shows. They've still been around and performing since then, but a lot of members have passed away over the last decade, and others have come in to fill their shoes. The member timeline is kind of interesting to look at if you guys are curious, but for now enjoy the song.

Good Morning! Today's song is Come Sail Away by Styx.

Styx is an American rock band active on an off since 1972. Currently they're made up of James "J.Y." Young, Chuck Panozzo, Tommy Shaw, Todd Sucherman, Lawrence Gowan, and Ricky Phillips. There are also some past members in Dennis DeYoung, John Panozzo, John "J.C." Curulewski, and Glen Burtnik. Different iterations of the group existed before they took this name, first as The Tradewinds until a different group achieved fame with the same name, then they switched to TW4 before settling on Styx in 1972 because of all the other name options, that was the only one none of them hated. They released four albums in the early 70's before hitting their commercial success. This song is from the late 70's and is one of their hits. They released seven more albums before breaking up in 1983 because of their eleventh album and the tension it caused within the group. Some members went on with solo careers in the interim. The group got back together in 1990 with a different line up and releasing an album. They toured but their popularity wasn't what it once was (and another genre of music was on the rise) and they got dropped by their label. They made some demos, but by then grunge had taken over the industry and they couldn't get a foothold, leading to them disbanding again in 1991. They reunited in 1995 to re-record on of their biggest hits, doing a reunion tour and then releasing a live album with some new songs on it in 1997. They toured again in the same year, this time as a 20th anniversary for their seventh album. In 1999 they released their first new studio album in about a decade, but it brought more tension between the members. That and other circumstances led to some lineup changes. Most of the 2000's saw the group releasing live music from shows they were doing rather than new albums. The band received a Lifetime Achievement award in 2007, then spent much of their time in the 2010's performing. They did release a few new albums in the 2000's and one in 2017, bringing their total up to 16, not including the live stuff, and they have another one planned. So some iteration of the group is still going so you should check out how they've changed over the decades with the switch ups. Enjoy.

Good Morning! Today's song is Please Forgive Me by David Gray.

David Gray is an English musician whose been active since 1992, although didn't start to get commercial success until 2000 with the rerelease of his fourth album. This one didn't just gain him some success, but exploded his career, breaking records and he still holds today. In 2001, with the success garnered, he released two albums of songs from older albums and unrecorded songs written in that era. In 2002, he released a new album with new material, and while not as popular as the one from 2000, it still hit number one on the charts. His next album came out in 2005, after he took a hiatus due to exhaustion. Critics praised this one as a return to his old sound, but it still had failures, so Gray went on hiatus again for 2006. For the next while we only saw performances and compilation albums from him, until his next albums in 2009 and 2010. After that he went silent again until signing to a new label and releasing a tenth album in 2014. In 2016 an album of his greatest hits was released, and a spotify playlist was made in the same vein but one that cycles through his songs, changes over time depending on the popularity of the song through the service. Although this is already a pretty impressive career in overall quantity of music, he's still going strong with another album being released. So give his music a try, because there is a lot more where that came from.

Good Morning! Today's song is You Get What You Give by the New Radicals. 

The New Radicals was a rock band active from 1997 until 1999 and made up of Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois. They both have solo careers, each with albums, and they met when Brisebois worked with Alexander on one of his album. They did have other members that would come in and out, but the only permanent member was Alexander, and Brisebois was a fairly consistent member. The only album from the group came out in 1998 and also involved Paul Gordon, Matt Laug and Josh Freese, Rusty Anderson and Michael James, Paul Bushnell, Dan Rothchild and John Pierce, Lenny Castro, Greg Phillinganes, and producer Rick Nowels. After a tour for that album they released a single, which was this song. They released another single in 1999, but it happened right on the cusp of their break up. What that comes down to is that Alexander just wasn't cut out for fame: he did what he had wanted to do and was bored with the group, and didn't want to do the networking that comes with the job. So instead he switched to songwriting for other people, and was actually pretty successful at that, so good for him for figuring it out. And in the mean time, we got some music. Win/win.

Good Morning! Today's song is All The King's Men by The Rigs. 

This is an LA band who've been together since 2014 and are made up of TJ Stafford and Caitlin Parrott. They both used to perform at a church where they met, and eventually decided to begin writing music together. They've had a lot of success with having their stuff included in pop culture since the beginning, with their first foray being True Blood before they had actually formed as a group officially. They had made contacts while they were writing, and by the time the featured song gained popularity, they were scrambling to try and establish themselves publicly as a group so fans could actually find them. The popularity led to them releasing three albums in one day, as they had enough material banked that fit together thematically to be released. It's an odd beginning, but it worked for them. As of this year they have released four albums, and actually got married and had a kid, so congratulations to them and I can't wait for more.

Good Morning! Today's song is Say No More by Forget Tomorrow.

Forget Tomorrow is an American band active since 2009 and made up of Avery Taylor, Kevin Loftus, Dustin Paolino, Brandon Bogush, and Chris Carlson. They have two albums from 2012, along with an EP in 2014 and another in 2016. I might be missing some stuff because I don't have an official bio to go off of, but it's at least a starting point so you guys can check out the rest. Enjoy!

Good Morning! Today's song is Crossing A Line by Mike Shinoda.

I've been holding on to this one for a long time because I didn't know what to really say. I miss Linkin Park and I miss Chester Bennington. I'm glad that Mike is going forward in music, and that this song shows fans that pay homage to Chester's career, but I don't think I'll ever not be sad about him being gone. I think most people feel the same way. While his death happened awhile ago now, this year has kind of been the year of deaths. There's been two in my family in the last month ish, and one more is expected within days, so today feels like a day to just sit and remember those we've lost. Hopefully you can too.

Chase Atlantic is an Australian band active since 2014 and made up of Mitchel Cave, Clinton Cave, and Christian Anthony. Before coming together as a group, Clinton had a YouTube that he and his brother would post songs on, and Mitchel and Christian were in a boy band together formed to audition for V Factor in 2012. The three of them came together in 2013 under the moniker K.I.D.S. before switching to Chase Atlantic in 2014 and released an EP. They released another EP the next year, and got on the radar of the guys from Good Charlotte, leading to them getting signed in 2016. They released an EP in 2016, then three in 2017, as well as their debut album, before going on tour in 2018. Their second album came out in 2019, then they spent the pandemic working on their third album out this year, so go check that out if you're interested.

Good Morning! Today's song is Kill For You by Skylar Grey featuring Eminem.

Skylar Grey is the stage name for Holly Brook Hafermann who has been active since 2004, but only known under that pseudonym since 2010. She has her own albums, but she's also been featured a lot in other people's music, stepped into bands for touring , and has written some pretty notable songs for other artists. The first thing she did under this moniker was co-write Love The Way You Lie which ended up being sung by Eminem and Rihanna. After that she was signed to a label and co-wrote music for a couple other rappers, was featured on a bunch of songs and released a single in 2011. We all know Eminem so I'm going to do a condensed version. Eminem is Marshall Mathers the Third whose been active since 1988. In that time he's released ten albums, the first from 1996 and the most recent from 2020. There have also been three collaborative albums and a bunch of singles. He's also done some acting, released books and has done some charity work, so if you're curious you can look into all that.

Good Morning! Today's song is Nostalgia by Adaline.

Adaline is Shawna Beesley, a Canadian singer active since 2008. Her big break actually came from a chance encounter during the peak Twilight era with Robert Pattinson, which was documented with a photo and led to all the fans finding and downloading her music. She has three albums, one from 2008, another from 2011 and the most recent from 2017. Her first album is how I found her when I got it as a gift. Her second album is around when her breakout came, and led to her being nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award. She's worked with some other artists through her career on their projects and has had her stuff featured in some films. She's a great artist so I hope you guys check her out.

Year 7, Day 201

Good Morning! Today's song is Blood Like Lemonade by Morcheeba.

Morcheeba is an English band active since 1995 with current members in Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey, and past members include Paul Godfrey and Daisy Martey. The group started with the Godfrey brothers and Edwards who were signed and released an EP in 1995. Their debut album came out the next year, followed by a North American and European tour. Their next album came out in 1998, sounding more mainstream, before releasing their third album in 2000 and another in 2002. The group split in 2003, and it sounds like all parties were kind of relieved with that decision. The brothers got back together a year later, hiring Martey and releasing an album before getting rid of her halfway through their tour, leading to a legal battle and years of silence from the group. The brothers released a sixth album in 2008 with hired singers to perform. During that whole time period, Edwards had continued as a solo act, but in 2010 the boys convinced her to come back. This song is from their seventh album of the same name released in 2010, which they toured for, then released another album in 2013. In 2014 Paul decided to leave the group, but after an argument about how much his piece of the ownership was worth, the other two released their new material in 2016 under the group name Skye & Ross instead of the band name. They have since released two more albums as Morcheeba in 2018 and 2021 respectively, but I'm not sure what happened with the ownership for them to do that. I would assume though that it was resolved if they're still going strong as this band. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Morning! Today's song is Gone by Beth Crowley.

Beth Crowley got her start in 2011 when she posted a video on YouTube that went viral. After that she started focusing on original music, releasing a song on YouTube in 2013 that was based on the Cassandra Clare novel series. She has done many different songs inspired by fiction, including this one which is inspired by the Hunger Games. She's released two EPs and a full length album, and is also writing her own novel so she's going strong. If you're curious about other book-based songs, go check her out.
