Day 190

Hello. So today's song is Hit Me Up by Gia Farrell.

I was shocked when I saw what she looked like. Honestly, I didn't imagine anyone like how she looks is singing this song. Now that I see her and listen to it though, I see it. She's really pretty, and a great singer. I really like this song. I listened to it when I walked home from school all the time. It's funny how music like this makes that extra spring in your step show up. Although I did get lots of funny looks since I kind of danced and mouthed the words as I walked....and I can't dance. Anyway check it out.

Peace.

Day 189

Hiya. So today I give you Catch Me If You Can by The Beu Sisters.

This song is from the movie What A Girl Wants. I really like this song. It's just so upbeat and makes me feel happy. I loved this song since I first heard it. It's the perfect summer song, so by making it my song of the day I'm trying to force summer to finally show up. It's been way too long since I've seen green grass. Well, that's all from me today so enjoy it and think good thoughts about summer. It'll happen.

Peace.

Day 188

Hey everybody. So today I give to you Airplanes by B.o.B and Hayley Williams.

So this song holds special memories for me. A girl in my leadership class my grade 12 year made a video with pictures and clips of all of us on the last day of classes. This video was played to this song. Watching it brings back nostalgia about the good old days, because I was one of the few people who actually liked high school. I hope you enjoy it.

Peace.

Day 187

Hiya people. So today I give you Little Sister by Queens Of The Stoneage.

This song is a change from what I've given you lately. I've been playing my ipod at work the last few days and it really brought me back to some old favorites I haven't heard in awhile. I'm gunna try and get them all up here eventually. I'm not sure. There's a lot. Anyway I love this song. In grade ten, it was one of four songs that I played on repeat everyday. So listen to it, you'll like it.

Peace.

Day 186

Hey Guys. I've got an old one for ya. Here is Bang Bang Boom by The Moffatts.

This is another album that I like all the songs on it. They're just so upbeat. This was when they were kids. So young! Later, these guys did more albums when they were grown up, but I much prefer this one. Anyway, you should check it out because I think you might like it.

Peace.

Day 185

Hello. Today's song is So Clever by Lucia.

This is a song that I heard from the soundtrack for a movie. Ever seen What A Girl Wants? It's very hard to find albums where all the songs are good. Normally there is only one or two, but the What A Girl Wants soundtrack is one of the few that are worth buying. So check it out.

Peace.

Day 184

Hey everybody. So today I give you Man, I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain.

This is the song because I was playing a game with my family called What. It asked the question "What would my uncle sing at karaoke?" There were only two songs said, and this was one of them. I was a big fan of Shania when I was younger, but then she kind of dropped off the map. Apparently it's because she lost her voice, which is so depressing. I wouldn't be able to live if I lost my voice. Anyway I hope you like it.

Peace.

Day 183

Yo. So this explains the beginning of today. Patron Tequila by the Paradiso Girls.

We celebrated my sister's birthday friday night/ saturday morning. So since most of it was today, it's today's song. Apart from the dumb girl drama that seems to always happen with certain people, it was fun. Her friends were a little weirded out by the little sister coming out with them, but the ones who weren't made sure we had fun. Tried some more drinks, did some shots with a girl I've known my whole life, danced with a girl who knew my sister, but I had no idea who she was and then took care of my drunk friend who was throwing up. It kinda makes me laugh because of the line in the song. Anyway, enjoy. It's pretty catchy.

Peace.

Day 182

Hey Guys. Today is a dedication. I give you Superman by Five For Fighting.

The dedication is to Sydney. She did something today that not only takes extreme courage, but is something way beyond our maturity level. At eighteen, there are things we shouldn't have to deal with in life, but when she was made to deal with it, she didn't back down. If anyone is a superhero of the people I know, it's her. Lately she's been taking major steps in growing up and moving forward, so this song is for her. I love this song. It brings out all the emotions of dealing with things that I shouldn't have, but still having to hold it all together. It's definitely a classic. Hope you enjoy it.

Peace.

Day 181

Today has been awesome. And for this awesome day, we need a song to match. Cha Cha Slide by Mr. C.

So I have a story behind this song. Today at work, I was in the back. That means that I can't be seen by the customers, because I'm back there baking and I had my ipod playing. My sister was chillin back there with me helping me do stuff, and this started playing. You can't not dance to this song so I was doing the cha cha slide in the kitchen. Little did I know my managers were watching me laughing their asses off. It was pretty great. Some days you just need to dance! At least I can do it at work without my managers killing me for it. Anyway, check out the song, it's kind of addicting. Although on my ipod I have one without this weird techno beat. Oh well, enjoy.

peace.

Day 180

Hello. Today's song is Chasing Pirates by Norah Jones.

When I first heard this I didn't like it. Probably because I just can't believe that this voice, belongs to this body. As long as I don't watch the video or her singing it, I'm good. It's a pretty interesting song. It sounds different than the poppy music topping the charts. The feel of the music definitely grew on me. After the day I've had at work this helped to mellow me out. I had some woman throw a bun at me. People can be so dumb sometimes. Just because I'm in the customer service industry, does not mean I'm your bitch. If that bun would have hit me, I probably would have thrown it right back at her. Anyway, check out this song, and tell me what you think.

Peace.

Day 179

Hey everyone. So today I give you I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred.

Please tell me you've heard of this song. It's on old one, but seriously known by everybody. What I really want to know is if you've ever watch the music video for it. Mesh shirts. Man tank tops. Bad hat pulling. Women in bikinis? Okay, so that one is pretty normal, but women in bikinis with cameras taking pictures of mesh shirted bald men on the catwalk...uh huh. And that cat! How can you be too sexy for that cat. It's fricken adorable. I must admit though, I love the ending. "I'm too sexy for this song." OUT. Best ending ever? I think so. Anyway, this was playing on the radio at work, and Anna was there at that time so we were jammin to it. Enjoy! Just don;t wear mesh.

Peace.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Day 178

Today's song is You're In Love by Wilson Phillips.

So today is my sister's 20th Birthday!!! In honor of it being her birthday, I decided the top song on that day would be my song of the day. It just happened to be this one. Women pop groups, possibly the best thing of the 90's. Anyway, it's getting late, and I'm tired. I just wanted to wish Sammy a Happy Birthday.

Peace.

Monday, April 18, 2011

Day 177

Hola. Here's something different, The Dock Of The Bay by Sara Bareilles.

I first figured out who this girl was when she sang a cover of Single Ladies. I couldn't even compare it to the original, they're both good in such different ways. Anyway, her voice just astounds me. The fact that she has such a long range is great. Being able to hit the low notes along with the high notes is what I envy. She seems like a pretty cool person, so check her out. You might like it.

Peace.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Day 176

Hey Guys. Today is something from a movie I like. Crazy by Meredith Brooks.

So this is from the movie What A Girl Wants. When it first came out, I watched it so much. I probably know every song on the soundtrack off by heart. I like how her voice sounds. It works for this song, but I don't think I'd want to sing like that. I may not be too fond of my voice, but I like it more than this. Anyway, check out this song.

Peace.

Friday, April 15, 2011

Day 175

So this song describes me today. What The Hell by Avril Lavigne.

Today has been a bad day. I am so done with trying to be nice to people to spare their feelings. No one does it for me, so why shouldn't I return the favor. In the words of the song, all my life I've been good, but now, what the hell. I may lose friends because of it, but I am done sugar coating things. Wish me luck.

Peace.

Day 174

Alright. I'm sorry, but today you get choirness. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by The Andrew Sisters.

These girls are legends. We're doing this song in choir and all we ever can talk about is how amazing they are. Most of you will probably recognize the tune because Christina Aguilera copied it and the whole concept of this video for the song Candyman. I'm going to assume it's a tribute to them, but I still think it's wrong. Anyway, these three are great and I wish I could sing like them. Check it out.

eace.

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Day 173

Hiya. Today I give you Aint No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

This is truly a classic. I have never met someone who doesn't know this song. It's just one of those songs that you can't NOT sing. Anna and I pretty much have it down to an art form. We can do both parts and harmonize it, it's pretty cool to see. Anyway, just listen to it and tell me what you think.

Peace.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Day 172

Oh man. I have the best story behind why this is today song. We Are Who We Are by Kesha.

Okay. So today I was at work and really pissed off at my dad. On my break I was trying to calm myself down, and when I try to do that I focus on the music that's playing. This girl had her ipod playing so I focused on it. It played this song. That was alright, so I listened. But when the song ended, it started playing again. I just laughed, it was so funny at the time. As for the link, I gave you something that makes me lawl, the California Gays doing Kesha. Just like they did Katy Perry. Enjoy!

Peace.

Day 171

I love this. Ultraviolet by The Stiff Dylans.

This song I found in grade ten and listened to pretty much every second of the day. It's great, and I was so happy to find out it was in a movie. When I watched Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging and the guy said Stiff Dylans, I went nuts. It's a little sad but this is the only song I know by them. I have to check out more. Seriously though, British boy bands. If you are a Britsh guy who is a musician...or really any guy with an accent, move to Canada. Girls will fawn over you.

Peace.

Monday, April 11, 2011

Day 170

Hello. Energy by Keri Hilson is what you get for today.

This song kind of describes how I'm feeling currently. Not for the same reasons as she mentions, but today I just feel done with everything. I'm tired of people not coming through and not understanding and me always putting more into things than others. So this is the perfect song for me today.

Peace.

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Day 169

Hey Guys. Today I give to you On My Mind by Cody Simpson.

Oh look it's Justin Bieber! No wait, It's the blonde beach version, complete with detachable guitar and that famous plastic smile. Sorry that was kind of mean, but I suddenly had the thought of all the different kinds of barbies there are. Anyway, he actually seems like a pretty good singer and is young yet so we'll see what happens with him. For now I shall just continue to compare him to Beaver, since that's what the rest of the world is doing.

Peace.

Friday, April 8, 2011

Day 168

So today is something new, boy bandy, and British. Woot? Everybody Knows by McFly.

So this isn't actually the oiginal song, it's an acoustic version with half the band. Honestly, I like the acoustic stuff better. The fact that they can actually sing without anything added makes them perfect for doing acoustic stuff. The ones in this video are my favorites. Tom was made for boy bands, his voice and look just fits. Danny could do other stuff, but I like their voices together so this is good. Anna likes Danny, she's the one that sent me this, so feel free to thank her. Your challenge: find an acoustic version of a song that is better than the original...but it can't be from this band. That'd be just way too easy.

Peace.

Day 167

Hey Guys. So toay I give you Crawling Back To You by Daughtry.

This song is amazing. I can't even explain why. Sit and listen to the words. Close your eyes and let whatever image the songs creates play in your head. It can be very enlightening. Check it out, okay?

Peace.

Day 166

Yo. I give you what has been stuck in my head since I heard it, Stuck by Big Time Rush.

This is the original song, but the acoustic version. Personally I like this one better. They just sound amazing. I love James, but he is just a little too pretty, you know what I mean? Most of their songs are catchy, but all the same. This one is different though and it makes me happy. Harmonies man, they are glorious.

So I realized something today. I mention my friends a lot, but I feel like you should be able to put a face to them, so that's what is going to happen.

To the right is Anna. I mention her the most, as anyone who reads this frequently can tell.

This is Taylor. She lives out of town, but seems to show up for our random adventures.

And of course Sydney. She's not mentioned too much, but enough that you need to put her face to memory.

So that's the gang. But I'm tired so I'm going to sleep. See you tomorrow!

Peace.

Day 165

This song was fated to be on here. It's Me Against The World by Superchick.

So my cellphone is an mp3 phone, and when I first got it in grade nine, I put a few of my favorite songs on it. I haven't used the mp3 part since then. But yesterday at work, I accidentally hit the wrong button and my phone started playing this song. Needless to say it pumped me up for the rest of my shift. This band all around is just amazing. It's what started bringing me out of my shell during my awkward phase, because the songs make me feel so invincible. I love it, and I love them. Plus they are really cool, if the picture is anything to go by. I hope this song makes you feel like today you can do anything.

Peace.

Day 164

Hey. Today is Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People.

This is another one you can thank Anna for, because she is obsessed with this song. Seriously, everytime I get in the car with her she replays this for me because it's in her head. I don't mind though. Our tastes may be different at may times, but I love hearing new music and expanding my tastes. Like this, I never would have known this before, but I kinda like it. It's pretty mellow, which I savor. so I challenge anyone who reads my blog to expand their tastes too. Find a new band who sounds different than your other favorite songs that you listen to. Share one if you like, too.

Peace.

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Day 163

You owe this one to Anna. You get Space Oddity by David Bowie.

Oh David Bowie. I have never been a fan of yours. The only way he has been in my life, is the mural of him in my junior high, and the references to him in movies I've seen. Those movies are Band Slam and The Runaways, if you were wondering. Anna, however, is a major Bowie fan, so when I was at a loss of what to put, she gave me him. So I hope you enjoy and appreciate her tastes.

Peace.

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Day 162

Hey everybody. Today I give you 1 2 3 4 by Feist.

I know, I know. This song is way overplayed and you are robably wondering to yourself "why this song?" Well I'll tell you. I do like other songs by her, but this one has an interesting video. Doing everything in one take, one continuous shot is pretty damn impressive. It would have taken forever to perfect, and they still didn't get it right, thanks to the guy in the red striped shirt. The world hates that guy... So, that is why it's this song, so you will suck it up and watch the video, because it's cool.

Peace.

Day 161

Hello. I have quite the change from yesterday. I give you a true classic. What The World Needs Now Is Love by Jackie DeShannon.

It's songs like this that bring me peace of mind. It's just so beautiful and simple. The lyrics are golden, and the music doesn't overshadow it. This song isn't about topping the latest music from a rival artist, it is the true meaning of peace in the world. Generations of crap have never been able to wreck this song, and I doubt anything ever will. Jewels like this will live on forever.

Peace.
