Day 160

Hi Guys. I have something great for you today. It's Gossip Folks by Missy Elliot.

I've always been fond of Missy Elliot. Since her career started she's always gotten out there as pointing out to people that she isn't a rap whore. She doesn't do the stupid gyrating that everyone does now. I respect her for the fact that her dancers are doing actual dance moves. I chose this song by her because I love the video. The kids breakdancing are great. Notice that the one kid is Alyson Stoner when she was still little. She's eighteen now and is mega-huge on her own. When I was growing up this is what I had. Not Gaga, not Justin Bieber; I had Missy Elliot. That's probably why my generation is better than the one's on the rise. Haha. Anyway, check it out.

Peace.

Day 159

Sorry! I have been having quite the week. So sleep deprived it isn't funny, yet I can't fall asleep! Anyway I give to you Loser Like Me from Glee.

It is really kind of sad how much I like this song. It's just so damn catchy! Not to mention, I'm sure everyone in this world can relate to this song. You can not possibly go through life without feeling like a loser at some point. I know this for a fact, and I'm only eighteen. The performance is good too. They go for the simple dance routines which is realistic. Actual show choirs either sing really well and hardly dance, or dance the crap out of the song while singing horribly. Or they just suck all around. Sorry if I offend any show choir people, but in Canada we have normal choir...and the youth singers, but that's different. Anyway, hope you like it.

Peace.

Day 158

Hi everybody. Today I give you Love Drunk by Boys Like Girls.

This is a band that everyone I went to highschool with went crazy over. I never really listened to them till now. The original song is good, but I definitely like the AOL music version which is the link I shared. They are really good singers and don't need to be autotuned. Now if only I could say the same about all the bands out there.

Peace.

Monday, March 28, 2011

Day 157

Hola. Today I give to you Jar Of Hearts by Christina Perri.

So today is dedicated to Sydney. Yes guys, I am aware that it is only like 2:30 in the morning, but oh well. I went driving around with Syd after work, just to hang out. We chatted about everything new, like her brother being a daddy!! So exciting! This song played on the radio, and I really liked it. The feel of the song is beautiful. It isn't over produced in the slightest, so that gives it the "girl alone with her guitar" feel. And the lyrics are pure genius. Anyway, give it a listen. A real listen, where the music is the only thing you're focusing on. Tell me what you think.

Peace.

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Day 156

Hey everybody! So today has a story behind it, and it's song is Hey Ya by OutKast.

So Anna and Taylor came to visit me at work today and while I was working they sat in the dining room. This played on the radio, so they kept singing the part to me that says "lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor." When my manager wasn't looking I threw a packet of sugar at them just to help them out. haha. It was a fun moment, and so to Taylor's request this is the song of the day. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did.

Peace.

Day 155

Alrighty. Today's song is Goldmine Valentine by The Bigger Lights.

Following the tradition I have set forth in the last few posts, I give you more bubblegum power pop. Listen, then judge. I like it. I also quite enjoy this picture. All bands should dress as....what's the word.....suave as these guys are in this picture. Anyway, I'm getting tired so I'm gunna take off.

Peace.

Saturday, March 26, 2011

Day 154

Yo. Now I give you Camera Shy by School Boy Humor.

Another bubblegum power pop group. I really need to make a playlist with it on my ipod. Meh, by the time I buy myself a car I'll do that. Playlists are a good idea guys. Don't play with your radio at all when you're driving. Major accidents happen...or nearly happen. Ask any of my friends.

Peace.

Friday, March 25, 2011

Day 153

Hello. Sorry the last few days I haven't felt like writing, so i haven't. But no worries! Now you get three today. So this is Kids Undercover by Hello Hollywood.

I really like this band. Again, it kind of goes into my bubblegum power pop section. It seems thats where a lot of my music falls. I don't care what anyone thinks about that though, it makes me happy so anyone who has something bad to say about it can shove it.

Peace.

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Day 152

Hiya. This is What You Wanted by Renfue.

This is another new band that I discovered on YouTube. Apparently this song and group always gets mistaken for Paramore, but I personally don't think the girls sound the same at all. I don't really know what to say about this band so I'm gunna leave it at this and go watch Whip It.

Peace.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Day 151

Hey Guys. Today's song is If She's A Deceiver, Does That Make Me Divine by Away We Go.

So I'm reverting back to finding new bands I've never heard of before. Youtube is a wonderous place to do that thanks to the recommendations page.  I love bands with girl singers. I don't know why, maybe because I'm a girl and that gives me hope, but it's just so much better. Anyway, just listen to it and tell me what you think. I'm gunna go get ready for choralfest so I'll tell you how it goes tomorrow.

Peace.

Monday, March 21, 2011

Day 150

Hey. So today I give to you If The Moon Fell Down Tonight by Dear Juliet.

This is just a precious song I found on YouTube. Sure the video that the person made who uploaded this is fricken weird, but focus on the song. It's beautiful. Plus he's really cute. Anyway check it out and I'm gunna go sleep. Kay, cool.

Peace.

Day 149

Hola! Today is Can't Stop The Rock by Apollo 440.

So this is just a little diddy that are in a few of my favorite movies. I hope you enjoy it! Yes, those movies are 90's movies. The best movies are honestly from the 80's and 90's. Movies nowadays suck. Well, I'm running out of time on today so I'll stop talking. Have fun listening to this.

Peace.

Saturday, March 19, 2011

Day 148

I'm so tired right now. Alright, today I give you Landslide by The Dixie Chicks.

I know this isn't the original singers of the song, but this is the version I like so anyone who thinks different can suck it. I was catching up on my Glee tonight, and they covered this song. Until it was on there, I hadn't heard it in at least 5 years. It brought back memories...along with my country music routes. So enjoy, and prepare for some more kick ass country songs in the near future.

Peace.

Friday, March 18, 2011

Day 147

Hello, hello. So today's song is Day 'n' Night by Kid Cudi.

So I thought that I would just find a brand new song for today, but it turns out I've heard this before. I don't know why I like it, but I just do. I can only hope that guys who work at night in the convenience store do not spend their whole shift imagining people like this guys does. It kinda made me never want to shop late at night again haha. Oh well, I'll assume people are better than that.

Peace.

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Day 146

Hey Guys. I have someone uber cute to show you. This is What Does It Take by Dave Days.

So this is the guy I was talking about that was in A Fine Frenzy's music video. What I find hilarious is that Dave Days has a Miley Cyrus cut out that he puts in his videos. That includes this one. I first discovered Dave when my sister showed me YouTube stuff by Shane Dawson and The Station. It was pretty funny for awhile, but after some time it all got old for me except for the music they did. Which is why I am in love with this song. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Peace.

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Day 145

What up. Today's song confuses me slightly. I give to you Barbara Streisand by Duck Sauce.

So I first heard this when I was exloring Alexandra's ipod. She was playing this during dinner and I couldn't help but think "what a weird song." I heard it a few days later at work and one person voiced the question I whave been wondering the most. Although this is a great beat, and I like listening to it, I want to know....why write a song about Barbara Streisand?

Peace.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Day 144

Oh my god. I think I'm in love. Terrified by Katharine McPhee and Zachary Levi.

This, ladies and gentlemen, this is the man from Chuck. The one who stole my heart on the show with his hilariousness and cuteness. The one who stole my love again by being so bad ass with his fighting, and has now done it a third time by revealing that he can sing!! Oh wow, so much love for him right now. If you don't know me, maybe I should enlighten you on a few things. I am a sucker for a man who can sing, and I have a certain guy type, with Levi fits in. So I am very happy right now, but it's 1:30 in the morning, and I'm hanging out with Anna at nine, so I need to sleep.

Peace.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Day 143

Hello Guys. Today I'm changing it up and giving you a band that always makes me feel chilled and happy. Here's the song Electric Twist by A Fine Frenzy.

I don't know how it manages to with every song, but this band makes me feel so mellow. I love it. Some people have to have a drink after a hard day at work, I just have to listen to the right kind of music. So this is my mellow band. I love the sound of her voice, and particularily in this song the beat is just so awesome. The concept for the music video was great too. It's so simple, but so effective. Plus, Dave Days is epic and sneakily put in this video. Gold star to anyone who sotted that on their own.

Peace.

Sunday, March 13, 2011

Day 142

Hey Guys. So I'm continuing with the bad ass theme today with Black And Blue by The Maids Of Honor.

Sorry about the picture, it was ridiculously hard to find one that actually showed their faces. I got this one courtesy of facebook. Yay internet! So in the video for this song it shows roller derby girls. If you don't know what roller derby is, go watch the movie Whip It. Soon you will love it. Honestly, this song describes perfectly the roller derby vibe. Girls skating around beating the shit out of each other...ya, you'll like it. Anyway, hope this helps you deal with any stress today.

Peace.

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Day 141

Hi. I love this song song much. It is Cobrastyle by The Teddybears.

This is another song from Chuck. What can I say, they have some pretty awesome tracks on that show. It just sounds so cool! I know I've heard it somewhere before, but I can't figure out where. I love the beat. Normally, I like the voice in music the most, but really for this one the guy is just the icing on a musical cake. I could listen to this all day, everyday and never get tired of it. I hope you like it.

Peace.

Friday, March 11, 2011

Day 140

Hey everyone. Today I have a most epic tune for ya. It is You Know You Want It by Green Go.

Before you guess it, yes this song was in an episode of Chuck. I love it. The part where they played this he went all super ninja and made me go crazy. I replayed it about a dozen times and although his flips are great, it would be nothing without the bad ass music. You all know this is true. Bad ass music just makes everything so much better. So I want to know, if you were gunna do something totally awesome, what song would you want playing while you did it?

Peace.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Day 139

Hello all, today I give you my ultimate guitar goal. Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry.

This is one of those songs that will never be topped. By anything. I just love it so much. It's one of the songs that my dad and I used to rock out to frequently. And when they did a version of it on Back To The Future, I almost melted. Chuck Berry + Michael J. Fox = most epic thing ever. Anyway, I thought I'd put this one up, continuing with the bad ass oldie hits that I've been trending this last week. Enjoy.

Peace.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Day 138

So anyone who came to dinner last night with my family saw this coming. Today I have for you Brick House by The Commodores.

I don't even remember how this ended up being part of my family dinner, but I think my sister said something that made Anna think of this song. So, since it kinda came up out of the blue, I figured I'd make use of it. This is a hilarious song. I love singing along to it, but I can't for the life of me make my voice sound like his when he says brick house. Trust me, I've tried. What I want to know is how many of you can do it. Feel like testing it?

Peace.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Day 137

I can't believe I almost forgot this song. Final Countdown by Europe.

This song has made a dramatic appearance in my life for the past week. A little sad really how much it's played, but I love the song so it's alright. Possibly the most bad ass song in the world. If I ever went out to beat someone up out of vengence, I would have this song on repeat the entire time, because listening to it, I just feel unstoppable. It is one of those songs that will never get old, no matter how many decades pass. Although, I can't say the same about their hair...

Peace.

Monday, March 7, 2011

Day 136

Here we go! So today's song is brilliant. I give to you Short Skirt Long Jacket by Cake.

There is no song I love more than this one at the moment. It's the theme song for the show I've been watching lately called Chuck. So hilarious! Anyway, it's mostly the na na na parts that I love, but the whole song is genius. Horn instruments should be added to every song on the planet. So enjoy, because I definitely do.

Peace.

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Day 135

Hello! So today's song is one that I haven't heard in a while, but someone flitted into my head today. Today is Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.

When this song came out, everyone went nuts over it. I didn't understand why, it had never been my style. But if you listen to a song enough, it gets stuck in your head and you start to like it. People may say they hate the song that they're singing along to, but they secretly like it if they feel the need to sing it. Keep that in mind, it's a way to get to know people. Anyway, hope you enjoy! I'm gunna go find something to eat now.

Peace.

Day 134

Hello everybody! It's Anna. Stefi is a lazy butt and can't think of anything to put for today. As a result, you get me. Today's song is by The Format, and it gets stuck in my head 24/7.
I give you: Inches and Falling.

It's poppy and fun and easy to sing along with, which is kind of Stefi's style.
I don't know what else to say about it. Just see if you like it. You included, Steph.

Friday, March 4, 2011

Day 133

Hi. So today's song is one from my all time favorite band. I give you Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys.

I own their CD called Sounds of Summer, and it equals up to 30 songs of pure genius. There is no song of theirs that I don't like. Good Vibrations isn't necessarily my favorite one, but it is the one I heard that gave me the idea of adding this band to my 365. I can't believe it's taken this long already! Please give the Beach Boys a chance. I know pretty much everyone out there is obsessed with the Beatles. Well, these guys are my Beatles. Be nice to them.

Peace.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Day 132

I'm sorry guys. I was way too tired to write my blog yesterday. So yesterday I was going to give you  Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon.

I love his voice! It's perfect for this song. Tons of people have done covers, but they'll never come close because of his unique voice. It's almost slightly gravelly. I don't know how to describe it, I just like it. I'm glad that they didn't make their video follow a storyline. It's one of those tunes that doesn't need a love story of some kind attached to it, the song tells enough of a story by itself. The shots of the band just hanging out and on stage is wicked. You can tell they love what they do. Well, check it out and tell me what you think.

Peace.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Day 131

Hey Guys. Today I give you Monster Hospital by Metric.

I don't know why, but for the last two days this song has just kept popping into my head at the most random times. I'm gunna take that as a sign from my subconscious that this song needs a place in this evergrowing playlist. It was actually my friend Sydney who showed me this song when I was compiling music loved by me, her and Anna to play on a roadtrip. It's been on my ipod ever since but hasn't been played. Guess I'll be playing it more often now!

Peace.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Day 130

Hello, Hello, Hello! So today's song is Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell.

This is today's song in honor of the movie I went to see with Anna called I Am Number Four. It was kick ass to say the least. Plus, Alex Pettyfer is ridiculously hot. So fucking amazing. Anyway this was his ringtone in the movie, and it made me laugh. So just enjoy the big hit of a creeper song that this is.

Peace.
