Hello. Today's song is You Could Be Happy by Snow Patrol.
Happy Halloween!! I know I should be doing a spooky song, but I'm not really in the mood. I promise that I'll do holiday stuff for Christmas. So I used to be a huge fan of Halloween, but since my parents' divorce it's kind of a non issue. My sister though is super unhappy that she has to work tonight. I mean she picked up a shift so that a mom could take her kids out trick or treating so it was for a good cause, but it's still a bummer. I however will be hanging out at home watching Hocus Pocus because I'll never not be in the mood for that.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 251
Hi guys. So today's song is It's Time by Imagine Dragons.
It's to the point now that this song is refreshing because people have kind of gotten over the obsession with Imagine Dragons. The initial uptick when a new band breaks out is gone, and now their just known. So I though it would be good to show this one now, as it gets my YouTube cleaning farther along while also showcasing something enjoyable. Enjoy.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 250
Hi everyone. So today's song is In Calgary Alberta by Paper Lions.
This is a song that the band did when they were here on tour. It's the reason I had the courage to get up and go to their show by myself. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but tit was kind of huge for me. A female college student introvert with severe social anxiety going alone in the dark through downtown filled with drunk creeps to see a band. My city is for the most part pretty safe, but still there was one guy on my way home setting off predator bells in my head, so I made my sister come pick me up. These guys will be back here at the end of November. I don't know if I'm going to go see them again, but if I do I will hopefully be able to go with other people. It's more fun that way.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 249
Hey. Today's song is I Remember You by The Tenors.
You know, I was mad when I found out that these guys were changing their name and removing the Canadian part from it. It seemed like a bad move on their part, and they did it so they would be more internationally friendly. I was mad, but was is the operative word. That anger dissipated the moment the one guy publicly shamed the group by intentionally messing with the national anthem to make a political statement without the other guys knowing. Then I was glad they dropped the Canadian from the name. I feel bad for the other guys, but I'm glad the one who was being dumb wasn't one that I have second degree ties to.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 248
Hello. Today's song is All We Are by Matt Nathanson.
So my grandma and mom have gone on vacation now. It means I'm staying to hang out with my grandpa and make sure he's fine. I always do this when they leave, but it's more intense this time because he has surgery on his eye yesterday. He was having scar tissue removed. I can't even imagine dealing with that. I mean they froze his eye, but he was still staring directly at a giant needle coming closer and closer. The thought is enough to freak me out. Anyway for all his running around to doctor's appointments and dialysis I got to be the chauffeur. So far I'd say I've done a pretty crap job of taking care of him.I'm trying my best, but I still manage to screw simple things up. Like mixing up pickles and cucumbers which leads to me standing in an elevator with a handful of pickles.... my grandma needs to hurry up and come home.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 247
What's Up. So today I give you I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden.
So on the computer front, I have now ended up switching to my new computer. I say new because I've been ignoring it, but it was a sort of graduation present that I got when I was doing graphic design. I have a habit of never wanting to let go of things even when they're breaking which normally leads to a sort of subtle intervention by my family. Hence why I get "gifted" extravagant things. Like a new laptop to replace my six (I think) year old one, or a shopping trip because I haven't bought any new clothes in three years, or my shoes because my old ones were being held together with duct tape. It's not that I don't have the means to get things (well at this moment, yes it is but not normally) it's just that I hate change. With a passion. But since my other computer has a spasm and sent me offline for two days, I figured I'd get this one up and running. So far... it's okay. I fixed a lot of the issues it had and transferred a shit ton of files over that I now have to spring clean, and I need to boost my wifi because this one is more sensitive to it, but other than that it is surprisingly more decent than I remember. Maybe it's the desperation talking though. Being offline will do that. And unfortunately it still uses Windows. Not everything can be perfect.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 246
Hi. Today's song is Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House.
These guys are an 80's Australian rock band and they had more than a decade of success in their country and New Zealand. Plus there were a couple songs that went on to have fame in North America (one of which is this.) Most of their career took place before I was even born, but this year is special because the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. It seemed like a fitting time to feature a song, so I hope you like it.

Year 4, Day 245
Evening. So today's song is Hercules by Fly Away Hero.
These guys are a 3 piece band that are currently in Texas. I tried going to their website to find a bio on them, but it's unreadable to me. According to google translate it's a car insurance ad written in Korean....I don't know what to say about that. You might remember one of the members though from previous postings where I showcased IM5. Yes, the boy band that did Disney Dudez with Todrick. This is Dalton's (I guess you could call) real band and he's since left IM5 and is back with this. I must say I like this song much better than the other band, but both have their merits. I don't know, you guys can decide where you stand.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 244
Hey guys. Today's song is Pull Me In by The Graduate.
Sorry this post is late guys, I've been having some technical difficulties. I got some kind of malware on my computer (you can just tell when something is up) so I spent the better part of the day trying to fix it. I figured I'd give the Windows program a chance, since they're so sure that it works that they wont let me turn it off. Well guess what Windows: You're product is crap!! I did multiple full scans and it found fuck all. I download a reputable free scanner and lo and behold there are a shit town of compromised things. And right now I can't even tell you if I got the problem fixed because Windows is doing a useless update that I did not approve a fucking up my computer just as bad as any virus would. Seriously guys, if you're thinking of getting a computer and looking into software providers, pick someone else. I've been with Windows my entire life and I'm planning on switching because they don't even try to make a decent product anymore. Wisdom of the day.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 243
Hiya. So today's song is I'll Be Good by Jaymes Young.
Jaymes is a musician from Washington that's new to this blog. Although he's new, you'll definitely recognize the names of musicians he's rubbed elbows with. This includes London Grammar, Vance Joy, and Birdy. These guys have either already been featured or are slated to be featured within the next couple months. There isn't much information on him since he's still relatively new, but he's an artist to keep an eye out for.

What's Up. So today's song is I See Fire by Ed Sheeran.
To say this song is popular is an understatement. It's also such a good song that there is literally nothing I can say that will satisfy as an explanation. So I'm not going to try. The song is here, and it will speak for itself.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 241
Morning! Today I give you Bring Me To Life by Evanescence.
Time for some more Evanescence. I think last time I put up one of their songs I posed the question about what ever happened to them. I have since found out at least what Amy has been up to. She is releasing a children’s album called Dream Too Much. I have listened to one of the songs and it is very different from their old stuff. I mean it's supposed to be, and I'm honestly glad that she seems so happy and secure in her new life. Although I will always be partial to these old songs.

Year 4, Day 240
Hi. So today's song is Heaven Knows by The Pretty Reckless.
This is another song that I've really come to like. Thanks so much Cindy Lou Who for going into music! This is my favorite song by the band, but most of their stuff is good. I have no complaints for the stuff I've listened to. So hopefully if you have likes the kind of things I've put up this week, you'll also like this. Check it out.
Peace.

Hey. Today's song is Ex's and Oh's by Elle King.
This song stand alone is awesome. I've liked it since the first moment I heard it, it's great, mad props to Elle for exploding onto the music scene with this gem. But I also need to draw attention to whatever fan heard this song and made the connection to Supernatural. They put together this video which is superb. I kind of can't listen to this song now without seeing this video in my head, which is why I added it as a bonus link rather than replace the music video with it. I'm not one of the shippers mostly because the actors said it's not gonna happen, but I can appreciate that others do and honestly this video is hilarious to me. So enjoy!

Year 4, Day 238
Hi everyone. So today's song is Steady As She Goes by The Raconteurs.
"The seed was sown in an attic in the middle of a hot summer when friends Jack White and Brendan Benson got together and wrote a song that truly inspired them." Take a wild guess as to which song that would be. Despite all the members having their own successful musical careers they still came together to form this group. For any Australian fans, you might argue with me about the band name because they had to tweak it before going there. The Australian name is The Saboteurs since there is another band called The Raconteurs. Color me curious I wanted to see what they sounded like. Except since this group is so famous I can't find the other group. So to any Australian fans here, if you can find this other group and send me a song, it would be much appreciated.

Year 4, Day 237
Hey. Today's song is Two Princes by The Spin Doctors.
Sammy and Will bought a new board game. Not shocking really since it's one of the things they seem to hoard (along with books and empty jars of peanut butter.) This game is called killer bunnies. It's a card game that is pretty similar in objective to exploding kittens, but with the added benefit of money and the concept of feeding your animals. You also have to play two steps ahead which is an intriguing proposition. It took awhile to get to the point where I could understand the game, and I almost won too. I had the most bunnies, but alas I had the wrong carrot. Look up the game is you're curious. In the meantime enjoy this gem from the 90's.

Year 4, Day 236
Hello. Today I give you Are You Happy Now by Michelle Branch.
So Agents of SHIELD is back on the air and holy crap it's amazing. They added ghost rider this season and it's exactly what they needed to add a little life in now that the main storylines have played out. I'm talking about Ward finally getting gone, Skye's origin story, and the romance of fitzsimmons being resolved. The ghost rider story was bad ass from the first second you see his car, and is only getting more intriguing. Problem? Ratings. So god damn many people watch the show but the ratings don't count them in and it makes the show low on the list to be saved. I know the season is just starting, but I'm already worried for it's future since they killed Agent Carter earlier. Marvel TV is not safe and it needs to be so if you like the show or are curious about it now that I mentioned it go to ABC to watch. If you can't find it online then follow all the social media so they know there are fans. And if you have other ideas about how to help the ratings let me know.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 235
Morning all. So today's song is The Heart It Beats The Thunder It Rolls by The Wind and the Wave.
This song has been on my ipod for the last few months and it's become one of three of my new favorite songs. I know all the words to it now and it's sooo good. Seriously the vibe you get from it is amazing. I'm really glad I found this band. It's made up of two people, Dwight and Patrica, and are from Texas. I guess they got a lot of attention for a cover they did that ended up on Grey's Anatomy. It makes sense since the one year the show only featured covers of songs rather than the original for some reason. I however know them because of this song. Their original songs are incredible and they don't really need to do covers in my opinion, but you decide for yourself.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 234
Hiya. Today's song is Can't Stop The Rock by The Barrymores.
So these guys are another Canadian band, hailing from Manitoba. There really isn't much to say about Manitoba... so I'll just shoot off some lines from the official website for the band. "Busting out of the flat, frozen wastelands of Manitoba, The Barrymores are a female fronted six piece power rock/ska combo. Decidedly non-political, The Barrymores leave that work to the newspapers and instead choose to simply bring the rocking good times out in a slew of songs about relationships, friends, love, and drinking." Color me confused, but I don't know why they mention politics. Are they saying they don't write political songs?? Most bands don't so why clarify... Just seems odd to me. Also side note newspapers are supposed to be nonpartisan too. Oh well, check out the song and their website if you like it.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 233
Hey guys. So today's song is Last Resort by Papa Roach.
It's been a couple days now, but my family Thanksgiving was supposed to be Sunday. Unfortunately the day of it got canceled because my aunt had a burst appendix. That situation is pretty much a solid representation for how this entire year has been. Anyway my grandma is obviously clairvoyant or something because she had already bought a turkey, made stuffing (to take to my uncle's) and had a bunch of desserts. So the Monday she hosted an impromptu dinner. I had to contend with an uncle (different one) who is always a dick about my life and a 3 year old that doesn't understand that screaming is bad and everything visible isn't hers. I held for as long as I could, but it was painful. In the end basically the only thing I was thankful for was that thanksgiving was done and they'd all go home. I hold my tongue really well when things are bugging me. I mean you can tell I'm getting increasingly pissed, but I don't lash out. This song though is a pretty good sound bite for what my brain is doing while I'm trying to keep calm.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 232
Morning! So today's song is I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace.
I was an inner emo in junior high, and this song was my life blood. Every time I hear it I think my soul gets a little bit darker. It's like I can feel the black eyeliner forming on my face. For the record I never wore makeup during that time so I don't even have an embarrassing picture of me to show you, but I'm sure you can imagine the kind of thing I'm talking about. I deem this song to be just as timeless as My Chemical Romance, so I needed to add it in to the blog. So have a little emo today.
Peace.

Alright. Today I give you Kill The Director by The Wombats.
You guys should already know the Wombats if you've been with this blog for awhile so I don't need to give you their life story. They are seriously an amazing band and I've loved every song I've heard done by them. And since I don't need to explain the band I'm just going to add in a little blurb to say GO BLUEJAYS and hope any international readers will figure out what the hell I'm talking about.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 230
What's up. So today's song is Nightmare by Eve 6.
Okay before someone yells at me I want to say that I know my province is entitled too. I said Quebec was yesterday, Alberta is like tied for second with BC. We catch a lot of shit from other provinces but it's mostly based on money/environment, not politics. So I know my province is a douche too, just putting that out there. So these guys are a Californian band, who originally got signed as Eleventeen and had a EP ready to release. One guy though left, got replaced and then they changed to this name. Which is an X-Files reference, and I actually get it this year so hooray for finding this band after I watched that show. They've left the industry and come back in the time it took for me to find them, but it's good because that means more music for you to check out. Tell me what you think.
Peace.
Peace.
Year 4, Day 229
Hi. Today's song is Backing Off by Champion.
The next couple of songs are from the same movie I referenced yesterday. It's called Radio Rebel and since it's about a girl with a radio show, it features a lot of music. Most of the songs I had never heard before so I saved them all to let loose on you guys. You can also watch the movie, but fair warning it's a cookie cutter feel good Disney channel flick so don't expect greatness. It is pretty good for what it is. As for the artist, it's a DJ who goes by the tag DJ Champion (real name Maxime Morin.) It's from the album titled Resistance if you're wondering why the YouTube video has that in the name. And I'd like to point out that he's Canadian!! Woohoo... well I mean he's from Quebec so blech, but still technically Canadian since the last vote was a 51/49 split. If you're from somewhere else basically what I'm talking about is that Quebec keeps having votes to split into it's own country (think Brexit, but smaller scale.) They seem have a sense of entitlement above being Canadian - like I've heard people from there say poutine is from Quebec not Canada which makes no sense since Quebec IS IN Canada...I'm getting side-tracked. Anyway they wanted their own country, but to still use Canadian cash and I think be eligible for Canadian benefits such as how we spread the wealth from each province across the country. If you think this sounds stupid: I agree!! And so did half of Quebec thank god with 49.42% wanting to leave, and 50.58% wanting to stay. That vote happened just over 20 years ago now, but it was the second time a vote happened and people a still a little sore about it. Obviously. Sorry, this was a tangent. I shouldn't put the dumbness of a place onto one person so just check out this guy's stuff because it's awesome.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 228
Hello. So today's song is Like You Love Her by Fat Sue.
It was a little more challenging to try and find info on these guys so my apologies if it's not the right group. I tried. Fat Sue had been a band since 2004, formed in East London. Now I'm curious about the name and couldn't find any definitive answer as to why Fat Sue, but I have two guesses. One: They named themselves after a famous painting by Lucian Freud titled Benefits Supervisor Resting. The artist also nicknamed the painting Fate Sue. Two: Fat Sue is a British slang term for a fat woman... at least according to Urban Dictionary. I really want to know which one is correct. Anyway, these guys started to make a name for themselves in 2007 when they were featured by the BBC. I found this song featured in a movie that I catalogued to watch again for the only reason that it had good songs. So I'd say these guys will get pretty big soon. You're ahead of the game.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 227
Hey. Today's song is Cold Blooded by Ida Maria.
Alright, we have a big star from Norway. I don't think I've featured someone from there before so let's give it up for Norway!! Wooo! Maria got famous from winning two competitions: Zoom urørt and Urørtkonkurransen. I have no idea what those are, but it's pretty damn impressive to win consecutive unknown artists awards. A year or so later she expanded her reach out to the UK and the rest is history. Her songs have been used in a lot of TV shows and movies recently, so I'd say she's doing pretty well for herself. Before I take off for the day I want to point out a fun fact about her: she has synesthesia. I've always secretly wished I had it, just because I'd love to see what my favorite songs look like. Well that's it.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 226
Hey guys. So today's song is First by Cold War Kids.
I don't think I've featured these guys before, so you get the spiel today. Ready? The name comes from a trip one of the guys took through Budapest (awesome) when he saw a park with a playground and a bunch of old communist statues piled up. He said the phrase just popped into his head. I like it, now that's a good inspiration spot. They've been a band since 2004 with a couple member changes since then, but they're still around making music today. So if you like the song, look up some more of their stuff.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 225
Hiya. So today's song is Clocks by Coldplay.
I've actually been listening to this song on my ipod quite a lot lately because I have yet to put in into an album of some kind. It's still with all my unknown music. Not that this song is unknown to me. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that opening piano part, as it's a popular soundbite for movie montages. Coldplay is a great band so I'm never surprised by how popular the songs get. Anyway, today my mood is right for this song. I can't explain why, but you know that feeling when something just clicks into place? That's how it feels today so enjoy and tell me what songs you guys are feeling.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 224
Hi. Today's song is Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
I've spent the last couple hours binge watching Brain Dead and I'm kind of in love with the show. I mean I'm going to have to duct tape my ears when I sleep for the next couple nights, but I love the concept. The thing though that hooked me is their recaps at the beginning of each episode. They sing the recaps and the lyrics are hilarious. It's beautiful and I petition for every TV show to do that. No wonder I love it, the recaps are by Jonathon Coulton. (He's the Re: Your Brains guy from year 1). I want to show you what I'm talking about, but it's the most spoiler heavy thing ever so I can't in good conscience put a link up. Watch the show. Just do it, it's great. Side note for people who have watched the show: do you think anyone has asked Trump yet if he likes the Cars?
Peace.

Year 4, Day 223
Morning. So today's song is My Two Feet by Jesse Dee.
This is Jesse, an R&B soul singer from Boston and damn is he good. Seriously I'm so glad this popped up in my YouTube recommended. The whole album is on YouTube for you to listen to. And hey if that isn't enough, he was also a singer for a band called The Dirty Whites. So check them out, check him out and get in that fun vibe for the day.
Peace.

Year 4, Day 222
Hey guys. Today's song is The Diamond Church Street Choir by The Gaslight Anthem.
These guys are new to the blog and I was really hoping to find a story behind why they chose this name, but I didn't. I just know the name change came with a sound change. It's definitely a unique sound, like none of the other things I've featured. I'll leave you guys with an interesting anecdote. One of the members said they never would have formed if not for the influence of a band called the Replacements. This song by them in particular. So you get a bonus song today too. Boom.
Peace.
