Happy Easter Weekend!! So today's song is Feel This Moment by Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera.
Today is my friend Carmen's birthday, so just quickly I must wish her a Happy Birthday!! Okay, now to the music. I'm sure most of you already know this song, because it's played on the radio all the time. I'm still going to share it because I really like this song, and I always car dance when I hear it. As much as I respect Pitbull's rhythm, Christina is the reason this song is so popular. Her part is what everyone knows, recognizes and sings to. They just kind of bop around during his part. As a whole though, it's an awesome song. It would be a summer hit...if it was summer. One more month, then I will officially be on summer break. I just have to get through April... Anyway, I hope you enjoy this song and have a good easter!
Peace.

Year 2, Day 242
Hey. So today's song is Dum Da Dum by Shawn Desman.
Okay, what is with everybody ripping on Canada? They say we don't support our artists... Yes we do. It's harder for Canadian artists because there aren't as many outlets for music here as there is in the States. It's just the same for movies and TV shows. Everyone who does that stuff is either in Montreal, Toronto, or possibly Vancouver. You know where I am? Calgary. We are not a music based city, we are a stampede based city. There is only so much that can be done here for artists, and they only get really big and known when they get signed in the US, but that doesn't mean that we don't support them. Carly Rae Jepson was discovered by JB because her song was already on the radio in Canada!! So she got signed in the states and BOOM instant stardom. The same goes for a lot of artists, including Classified, Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Nelly Furtado etc. The list goes on. Not to mention I know of a ton of local bands who are better than people on the radio, and I go to their shows, buy their CD's, tell people about their music. It's not like I can exactly call up some CEO of a music company and be like "hey, you need to sign these guys." They wouldn't take my call, even if I knew how to reach them. So you Americans saying we don't support our artists? You need to back off until you do a little research in to what you're saying....Wow, that was a huge rant. Anyway, please enjoy this great CANADIAN artist.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 241
Hello. Today I give you Hurt Me Tomorrow by K'Naan.
I know all the words to this song. I sing it in my car all the time. My intense singing to it probably scares people, but oh well. It's a good song to sing along to. He brings out some really good stuff...This recording. I think it's faster than what they play on the radio. I can't be sure, but listening to the song from the video makes me feel stressed in the same way as I got in choir when the tempo started to unintentionally get faster and faster. I don't know... I'm sure most of you will have heard this song before, so maybe you can tell me if I'm being crazy or not.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 240
Hi. So today's song is In The End by Linkin Park.
This is an older song, but it's amazing. I always forget about it until I hear it playing somewhere, and then when it does play, I lose my mind. I always have to stop and just belt it out. I had found this originally during my angsty teenager phase. When I got all pissed off and was like "everything is dumb!" I would play this song, along with a lot of Simple Plan... My family thought I was crazy because I could relate to this song so much. Even back then I used music as a tool to tell them how I was feeling. There are a lot of people that I sang this at...hopefully they got the message. Give it a listen and you'll see why I like it.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 239
Hey Guys. So today's song is Heartbreak Coverup by Jesse Labelle ft. Alyssa Reid.
I decided to switch up radio stations today, and started listening to Jack FM. I'm glad I did. This is one of the first songs that was played, and I liked it immediately. Since I'd never heard it before, I couldn't sing along which actually bothers me a lot. I like knowing words to the music that I listen to. Lucky for me, I pick stuff up fast so I made up my own backup part to the song and sang that. That probably seems weird, but I was an alto in choir, so I always sang the back up parts. They actually sound better than the main one in certain songs. Anyway, this song is so nice to listen to. You should give it a chance.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 238
Hey Hey Hey! So today I give you Suzy by Caravan Palace.
This song is so wicked!! I honestly love it and it sounds so different compared to other music I've shown you. So this is swing music, which is also jazz music so it's very catchy. It makes you want to dance, which I guess is why the video is about a dancing robot! I love her outfits in the video. I've always wanted to have a party where everyone dressed in flapper dresses and danced like that. I might have to make it happen now. At least I know what song I'd play first. Check this one out, it's really cool.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 237
Hi. Today's song is Latter Days by The Middle Eight.
I'm glad to see from the comments on YouTube that I'm not the only one to wonder what I just watched. I didn't expect trees committing murder. Those poor creatures people...So from what I gather everything was killing people, meanwhile the ones that were alive were too stoned on whatever was in that paste to be aware and then the music saved them all, but then killed them? I...I don't know...I don't know what to tell you. It's awesome music, but the video is crazy. Watch at your own peril.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 236
Okay! So today's song is Everybody Talks by Neon Trees.
This one is for Sammy. She played it for me while we were trying to find our way home from SAIT. We kind of jointly suck at directions... Her and I always get on the music topic when we get together. She also tried to show me Olly Murs stuff, even though I knew more than she did. This is a common occurrence too. With this one, Sammy thought she was showing me a new song that I hadn't heard. It confused her pretty bad when I started singing it. I never knew the name because everyone always only calls it "it started with a whisper." Now I know, and so do you. I kind of love it. This song makes me want to dance. So today we should all dance!
Peace.

Year 2, Day 235
No hating on this guys. It's a cover of One Way Or Another performed by One Direction.
I'm not a One Directioner, but this is for a good cause, so just watch it. I love the original song, which is by a woman. I'm not going to spell it out because I'm hoping you know who actually sang it. I like that they filmed this themselves. I recently had to make a video of myself for school, and it ended up being not bad...There's is secretly making me like them. They seem like such dorks at heart. I love that in this video there are people just staring at them like "what the hell are you doing" and that the Prime Minister was in on this. The best though is the concert group dancing that was perfect. Not one person made a mistake! How is that even possible? Anyway, like I said it's for a good cause, so no hating.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 234
Hey guys. So today's song is Love Will Tell Us Where To Go by Bridgit Mendler.
This is the acoustic version of the song because I think her voice sounds better when it isn't autotuned like in the studio tracks. She has a different sound when she sings. It's pretty cool, makes it interesting to listen to. Yes there are some spots where she can't really get the power needed on the note, but overall this is excellent. The fact that she is this good without all the studio editing means there is hope for solo singers still. She is a promising artist, so you should give her a chance.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 233
Hi. Today's song is Listen To Your Heart by Roxette.
My childhood found me!! I had totally forgotten this song existed and then when I was out to lunch with Sammy it started playing on the radio. I love that we both had the same childhood, because we started singing it at the same time. The guy sitting beside us wasn't pleased. Whatever. This was the biggest woman power ballad out there at one point. If you wanted to show soul while bonding with your girls, you all belted this song. It was some good times. So if you don't know this song, give it a listen. If you do, belt it!
Peace.

Year 2, Day 232
Hello. Today's song is Miracle by Hurts.
The video with this song is a little dark and depressing...and I don't understand the dancing women, but this song is rad. Their voices are amazing and the way the song flows is perfect for me today. The chorus part is my favorite because of the pauses. I don't understand why people don't give music like this a chance. It has much better musicality than mainstream pop. Check this one out, and let me know how you feel about it.

Year 2, Day 231
Hey! So today's song is Love To Get Used by Matt Pond.
Am I the only person left who doesn't find it necessary to say when I was on the bandwagon before it was a bandwagon? Seriously. It doesn't make you cool saying "I knew this before it was cool." It just makes you a douche....Anyway, this song is wicked. The video kind of makes my brain hurt since it's so early in the morning, but it's still sweet. I guess there's an acoustic version that everyone seems to like better. I haven't heard it yet, but it seems like I should. I think my favorite thing is the quote from Matt Pond on this video description. "True love can be both transcendent and torturous. Open, exposed, interrogated and consumed, Love to Get Used runs down the dark road of passion, all the way through to rapturous release." This makes me love him even more than his music does. Enjoy.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 230
Sup. So today I give you Crown On The Ground by Sleigh Bells.
I got this song from a movie trailer for the latest Emma Watson movie. It was perfect for the trailer because the movie is all about beautiful teens who misbehave and just generally do whatever they want. This song kind of feels like a teen rebellion song to me. Although I'm not really an expert on the subject. I was the least rebellious teenager ever. I spent my weekend in my house watching Disney movies with my mom and baking cookies with my grandma... so hard-core right? Whatever. I rebel through my music tastes. It's less dangerous that way. So check this one out, and tell me what you're take on it is.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 229
Hello. So today's song is I'm Just Wild About Harry originally done by Jessie Williams and Jimtown.
I didn't use the original though, because I like the singer with this orchestra. As you can probably tell from the video clip, this is another Strictly Come Dancing thing. It's the same guy I was talking about yesterday, so in case you didn't know, this is Harry Judd from McFly. I love this song so much, and it's so perfect for him to dance to. I also just love the Charleston and he does an incredible job. Watch the video, it's the best Charleston I've seen.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 228
Hey. So today's song is Don't Get Me Wrong by The Pretenders.
Yes, this is eighties music. I quite enjoy this era. I also like the fifties and sixties. Not the seventies though. Nope. I've had this song stuck in my head for days. I started watching British television because I can never sleep at night. This song was used on Strictly Come Dancing for a routine done by a guy from one of my favorite bands. They've officially moved into that slot because I've become obsessed with them since they were featured on here. Let's see if you can figure out who I'm talking about...haha.

Year 2, Day 227
Hey. So today's song is The World Is Ours by Eleven Past One.
This is another one that's been on the radio a lot. I am sharing it because Sammy and I were in my car and she thought it was a good song, so I started singing the lyrics....then realized I had no idea what it was. So now I know, and you get to know too. It's a fun song to listen to when driving around. See I have this problem. I cannot have a shower, drive my car or watch a musical without singing. It's impossible for me. It tends to drive some people insane, but luckily my friends think its entertaining. Once I drove Carmen home and spent the entire ride rapping to her...because I know some rap stuff. Anyway, you should check this song out, and tell me what you think.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 226
Hi! So this one you probably know already. Here's Inner Ninja by Classified ft. David Myles.
This song is a top hit currently, but I still wanted to have it on my blog because it's such a good song. First of all, the beat. You can't help but jam to this one. Now as most of you know, I'm not a huge fan of rap. I just don't see the point of it because it takes away all the musicality of it. David Myles is the whole reason why I like this song. Well....him and the kids singing. His voice is really unique. I didn't know who he was before this song, but I'm glad I know him now. He's pretty cool. Also he looks like Bill Nye. Final thing about this song that I love is the message. It's all about standing up for yourself, and that is a powerful message. This song is worthy of being heard, so check it out.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 225
Hey! Today you get Run Run Run by Celeste Buckingham.
I absolutely love this song. Everything about it is perfect. The clapping in the beginning, and then her voice doing runs across the beat. The whole thing is so simple, but makes such an impact! Not to mention she is really beautiful. Why must the pretty ones also get talent? It makes being normal so hard. I can't stop listening to this song. It's addicting. She's a breakout artist and won a Slovakian Grammy. How awesome is that? You seriously need to hear this one. It's possibly the best song I've blogged so far.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 224
Hi. So today's song is My Heart Goes Boom by Miss Li.
Can I just say how annoying I find it that YouTube comments are about what brought you to the video. How about you just watch the video, because nobody actually cares how you found it. Ugh. Okay, my mini rant is out of the way...So this song. This is so cool! Her voice is so unique. I'm not even sure how to describe it. It's got that gruffness that some people have, but it's still so high. Whatever, it's awesome. This song has been stuck in my head for hours so I thought I'd spread the love.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 223
Hello. So today's song is Die Young be The Sweet Serenades.
This is a really cool sounding song. I absolutely love the use of bongos. People seem to think that the guy's voice is overtaking her voice and wrecking the song. I disagree with that. He voice is perfect for this song. It's the contrast between their two voices that adds the depth to the song that they need to pull off the two verses talking about each other. So you need to give this one a listen, and tell me what you think of their voices. Also, I want that heart costume.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 222
Hey. Today's song is He's Not A Boy by The Like.
It's a girl band! Girl bands are so awesome. I'm sure I've said this before, but that is how true it is. This song reminds me of the sixties, which is why I'm so happy they chose to do their video in that era. The sixties were really cool, especially the make-up style. I wish I could make my eyes look as good as the pianist's do. You really should check this one out. It's awesome for rocking out to.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 221
I love this! Here is I Keep Myself To Myself by The Boy Least Likely To.
Here you go. Sad lyrics, but a happy tune. It's a mixture of what I want and what I'm sure you are looking for. I kind of love this song. It sounds so cute if you don't focus on what he's saying, but then if you do listen to the words... brilliant. It's a good representation of people. Usually the happiest, down to earth people are hiding the saddest stories. Anyway, this is an amazing piece and you should listen to it.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 220
Hey guys. So today's song is August Moon by Gregory and the Hawk.
Here's another really slow, chilled out song. I'm just going through a phase of mellow music right now so you have to deal with it. Everything I have been showing you is really good stuff, including this one. They throw in a little bit of weird guitar sounds, but that's to change it up and give it another breath of life in the middle. It's very interesting to listen to.
Peace.

They throw in a little bit of weird guitar sounds, but that's to change it up and give it another breath of life in the middle. It's very interesting to listen to.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 219
Hi. So today's song is Cold Feet by Lost Lander.
This is a really great song and I love listening to it, but I mostly wanted to share this because of this video. It's an entire night of television that they filmed and then edited to fit the rises of the music. Most people wont realize how much work had to go into doing this, but whoever did it was a genius. There is definitely no better video that could have been done for this song. You have to watch it, this concept is incredible.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 218
Hello! Today's song is World Spins Madly On by The Weepies.
I'm in a kind of sad mood today, so this song is perfect for me. It is equal parts beautiful and sad, I wish this song was longer than two minutes. I'm not really sure how I stumbled upon finding this, but I'm glad I did. It's one of those songs that you can't really describe to anyone, you just need to hear it for yourself. So I hope you'll go and do that.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 217
Morning everybody. So today's song is Wild Country by Wake Owl.
This song goes hand in hand with the song from yesterday. Both would appear on my Field Vacation playlist. This is really one of the most stressful weeks I've had this year, and the lack of understanding people have about it hasn't helped. So I've been consumed in really quiet and slow tunes to try and freeze out the drama and deadlines of reality. I try to freeze them out so I can just lay in a field in the sun. Well. my metaphorical sunny field, since there is a mountain of snow everywhere destroying my week further. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the mood music at least a little bit.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 216
Hey. So today's song is Let Me In by Snowmine.
Here's another somewhat underground group. This is the type of music that I like to play when I just lay there and do nothing. It would be perfect for a sunny afternoon laying in a field with your headphones in, staring at the clouds. The song is really chilled out, and just makes me feel peaceful. Hat's off to this Brooklyn band. You guys are pretty fantastic.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 215
Hi. So today's song is Mother Protect by Niki and the Dove.
So this song has a very different feel than the other ones I've shown you. I'm not really sure how to describe it...I've truly never heard anything like it before. This is the kind of song that you stop everything you're doing and listen to it. I find myself almost in awe while it's playing. What is quite sad is that there is a remix of this song that is better known than this one. It's alright to decide which one you like better, but you should at least know of both arrangements. So give this one a listen, and if you're up for it check out the remix.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 214
Hello. So today I give you Safe And Sound by Capital Cities.
Here's a change. I got really depressing yesterday so we will move on from the tragic, to the studio edited pop shit. This song isn't actually shit, I like it quite a lot. It truly is pop though. I'm surprised that no one here knows them. I predict that they will explode onto the scene just like Imagine Dragons and The Lumineers did. It's only a matter of time. So before they become the 'in thing' you should listen to their stuff. Be the first of your friends to know them so you can rub it in later haha!
Peace.

Year 2, Day 213
Hey. So today's song is It Ain't That Whiskey by Gary Allen.
How about a little country to start your day. This is the kind of country I like. The pre-Taylor Swift era, when it was actually about the music. It is such a powerful song, absolutely full of soul. This is a man pouring his broken heart out for real. The truest example of how you feel after actually falling out of love, not some stupid little girl crush. Real love loss is painful as hell, and his feelings about it have managed to create a tragically beautiful masterpiece. What an incredible song.
Peace.
