Hey Guys. So today's song is Dancing Tonight by Kat DeLuna.
Why do people try and get views by making fake VEVO channels? It's a stupid thing to do in my mind, but whatever. I say this because apparently this is posted on Britney Spears vevo account, except that it's a fake one. I don't really care where it's posted though, because this is good music. I've never heard of this girl before, but I approve of her. It's typical club music, but some days you need that. I can enjoy something to bop around to when I'm cleaning. So I hope you enjoy this too, because this is perfect for me today.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 272
Hi. So today's song is Lemonade by Alexandra Stan.
So this girl is Romanian, which gives her voice that unique lilt due to the accent. It's cool. I always found it interesting that some accents are present when people sing and others aren't. Do you think there's a science to it? Maybe it's just a happy accident or unique to singers... Either way the presence of her accent in this song makes it more entertaining. I don't know about some of the outfits she wears, but to each her own I guess. The song itself is really nice and I like it. So you should give it a listen, and tell me what your thoughts are on it.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 271
What's up guys! So today's song is Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin.
This song is tinted with a little sadness, because this video is the groups way of saying that they are no more. They decided to go their separate ways and I believe this was there last song. It gives a new meaning to the title for me. I'm upset because the stuff they made was not as bad as shitty club music. These guys seem to make it an actual art form, and I respect them for that. So that is why this is today's song.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 270
Hey! So today's song is More Than Fate by Eye Empire.
This is another one with an unexpectedly good voice. Looking at these guys I didn't think I would like them as much as I do, but they are a great rock band. From the video, it looks like they would be a good band to go see live. There has been some member change since this song was recorded, and some of the guys used to be in other bands, but regardless I still like this band. I don't know what else to say about it, it's really one that you have to listen to for yourself and decide what you think. So check it out.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 269
Hey. So today's song is Back Where We Belong by Josh Krajcik.
This man's voice makes me question my existence. Whoa. So he auditioned for X-Factor. He didn't win, but that doesn't always matter. From the looks of the comments, everyone loves him and it's not hard to see why. What confuses me is how little view there are on this. He is an amazing musician and I love listening to his stuff. So, you should give him a chance, and pass his stuff along to others.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 268
Hello everyone. So today's song is Take Cover by State Radio.
There's a lot of controversy created by fans about the way this band has changed for this album compared to others. Honestly I don't see the point. Bands need to change somewhat as time goes by, otherwise they will never progress in their career. Telling a band to sound the same for their whole career is like telling us we should always be the same as we were in grade seven. Honestly, if that's the case I would want someone to put me out of my misery, because I have grown so much these last eight years since then and am a completely different person. In a good way. So everybody needs to chill about artists wanting to switch up their sound, it's actually a good thing. So check out this song, and some of their other stuff to see if there is a difference in sound.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 267
Hey. So today I give you Little Numbers by BOY.
Whoa. This might be the best find yet. I can't get over how catchy this song is. The clapping drew me in and the whole thing just sounds awesome. This song just makes me happy, and I need that this week. The part with them singing on the train makes me smile. People around them watching look so confused. I think you should check this one out, because it is upbeat and good for the soul.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 266
Afternoon, so today's song is Long Walk Back by The Rifles.
So this one is really entertaining to watch because of the video. It's filmed really well and works perfectly with the song. If I was this girl I would kick him to the curb. I love this song. From the opening it hooks you. Listening to this kind of stuff is helping me distress during exam week. I just have to make it to Thursday, then I'll be free. Wish me luck!
Peace.

Year 2, Day 265
Hey! So today's song is Let Her Go by Passenger.
This song is incredible. I love his voice! It's so unexpected when you open up the link, but it's perfect. The flow of this song is great too in the way that it starts and ends quietly, but that the middle is full of life. It's comforting that the chorus is catchy as well. That can be a good thing when people are at a concert and don't know the songs. I can say this for a fact because when I went to the Paper Lions gig I only knew one song, but caught on the others pretty fast, making it more enjoyable. Anyway, you should listen to this song.

Year 2, Day 264
Hey guys. Today I give you Let's Forget All The Things That We Say by Julia Stone.
So this isn't a very upbeat song because today kind of sucks for me. A few years ago I made the decision to move back in with my dad so I could use my money to go to school instead of paying for other shit. I still have a year of school left, I'm currently jobless and today my dad decided to kick me out of the house. He's decided that he's "nice enough" to let me stay until my exams are over next week, but then after that I need to be gone. No savings, no income, no home. Fuck. This is one of the reasons I didn't want to go to school in the first place. I didn't want to end up in a bad situation where I couldn't do anything. I mistakenly thought my dad could act like a human for once in his life, but nope. So I might be a little scarce with posting next week, as I will be dealing with life crises. At least I got you a song for today. Enjoy it.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 263
Hi. So today's song is Remix by New Kids On The Block.
The credit for this one goes to Hunter, who played this for me when we were on our way to a flames game. For the non-Canadians, that's a hockey game. Now, I'm a fan of these guys, and I really liked this song, but the video absolutely sold it for me. I'm no twig myself, so the fact that they used a larger girl as the icon for this song was inspiring. I'm sure all girls, no matter their size felt like her at the beginning of the video, but her just throwing that all away and dancing, and having fun was awesome. She screamed confidence. It shocked everyone, but it was a good shock. So I commend them for doing this. It was perfect.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 262
Hey. So today's song is Karma by Kristina Maria.
Angry girl music!! This is perfect for how I feel today, people are just royally pissing me off. And not just people, statistics. I have been studying all day for my stats final and my brain just hurts. So I need to get my frustration out with the least offensive way, through singing to music. Particularly angry girl music. People on YouTube continue to frustrate me. "heard this song on breakfast television and I wasn't totally shocked to hear that people produce such horrible songs nowadays. Like holy fuck!!! Its depressing, annoying and has no melody. " For one, it's not depressing. It's meant to be empowering, which I think it is. Two, you have a valid point on annoying for some people. Others don't find it annoying at all. Three, do you even know what melody is? The definition of melody is "a linear succession of musical tones that the listener perceives as a single entity." It is impossible to not have a melody when it's put to music, especially when she's moving up and down notes!! AHHHH!! If this person wasn't already being chewed out by every other commenter, I'd actually have to care enough to set her straight. Luckily, I'm not the only one with brains. Anyway, this is a good sound with a melody, so check it out.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 261
Morning! So today's song is Alive by Krewella.
For you avid follower of this blog, which I'm sure none of you aren't, today is my sister's birthday. To celebrate I went down to see her at work, which also used to be my work...but I quit. Everyone seemed excited to see me a least and asked me when I was coming back. I think about it a lot. I miss the people I worked with. While I was there one of the guys used his knife to mix cream into his coffee. You don't see that just anywhere. Anyway, I know this a song she likes, therefore it is the song of the day. So this is another song that most of you might know. It's been on the radio a lot. You know, I had no idea that there were two singers until I say the video. I knew the voice sounded different in the second verse, but not so different to make it obvious. That was a pleasant surprise. I don't really understand what's going on in this video, but I'm going to assume it all is just a party thing. I don't care enough about it to debunk what they're doing. Though if you have ideas, feel free to share.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 260
Hey. Today's song is Thirst by City And Colour.
What is up with people lately? Not everyone is part of a conspiracy theory so just enjoy the music instead of freaking out about it! Honestly. Everyone is throwing a fit because there are three rows of six white dots, and one of his eyes is covered. Hey guys, did you ever think that maybe that's just his album cover!? He probably wanted to do something different and slightly abstract. He is not claiming to be part of the Illuminati, so calm down. This is a good song and he has real talent so enjoy the music for exactly what it is: music.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 259
Hi. So today's song is Hero by Family Of The Year.
This is a beautiful song and it has a great message. I know I should really talk about the song and the band, but I want to discuss the video right now. It adds so much depth to the song that otherwise wouldn't be there. In case you don't know, or don't read YouTube comments anymore I will tell you that this isn't acting. The man in this video is Nicolas Sartor and this is footage from his life, with his family. He's a bull rider from California, and pops pills in the video because of being hit by a bull. That is about as painful as life gets and what he's taking are painkillers. He even ended up in a coma after that incident. He still rides, even though most wouldn't after an injury like that) and has another job to earn a living. I guess they chose to have him in this video because they consider him to be a hero, and I agree. So watch the video, it's inspiring.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 258
Hey, so today's song is My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark by Fall Out Boy.
They are back! I like how the songs titles are still as ridiculous as they used to be. Now this isn't totally the Fall Out Boy you remember. It's giving people mixed reviews. Some people love the new sound you get in the chorus, and others absolutely hate it. Personally, I'm unsure. I do like this, but I don't know if I can associate it with the old Fall Out Boy. I think it'll be best if I keep old Fall Out Boy and new Fall Out Boy as separate sections in my brain...and on my ipod. Anyway, check this one out and tell me where you stand.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 257
Hello. Today I give you I Love It by Icona Pop.
So this is a pretty popular song, and I'm sure most of you have already heard it and know what it is, but in the words of Icona Pop "I don't care, I love it." No matter what genre you listen to or the type of person you are, this song draws everyone in a little bit. It's just such a perfect anger song. Everyone wants to be able to tell the world to go to hell, and this one does that. It's about doing what you love no matter what others think, so check this one out.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 256
Hi guys. So today's song is I'll Be There When Your Heart Stops Beating by +44.
Well this is an older one. This song is from my angsty teenager phase (again) because even when I was moody, I had good taste in music. It isn't really teen angst music, but whatever. That is when I listened to this. I'd come home from school and be alone, so I'd just blast this while I cleaned, baked and did homework. When I do homework I need music playing, and this pattern might be from my teen routine. Anyway this is an impeccable song, so you should listen to it.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 255
Hey, so today's song is Liv It Up by Alexander Ludwig.
So this guy is awesome for a couple different reasons. 1: He's Canadian. 2: He's an actor and was in the Hunger Games. 3: He seems like a cool person. So I think it's safe to say I am a fan of him. And I give him props to how much he fit into this song. Seriously, there are so many words in such a little amount of time. I wish the song was longer! It upsets me that people say this isn't actual music. He can sing as well as anyone else out there making music, and this is unique instead of being another random dance song. I consider this to be music. Sure it's a little different then what most people listen to, but you need to give it a chance, or else your music tastes will never grow.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 254
Hi. Here's an old favorite of mine. This is Wish You Were Here by Hey Monday.
I miss Hey Monday so much. They were my favorite band for the longest time. I thought that they were so cool, but then they broke up. That was shitty. I'm glad Cassadee was able to keep a musical career though. She has one of those voices that is made for a music career. Most famous artists are not as talented as she is. It kind of surprised me that she chose Blake on The Voice, but hey, she won and that's all that matters. Also if any of you used to watch Glee, Kurt sang one of Hey Monday's songs. I hated it when they did it in Glee though, because the voice sounded so wrong for the song after hearing Cassadee sing it. This song that I chose is one of my favorite Hey Monday songs, so I hope you give it a chance because this is what I consider good music.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 253
Hey guys. So today's song is Hello by Kelly Clarkson.
As weird as it sounds, my mom associated Kelly Clarkson music with me all the time. It's probably because I have the same range as she does, so I can sing most of her music really well. I like all of the songs that I've heard by her, but most are pretty sad. So, I decided the one I would post is one that I find the beat to be a little more...well, up beat. Yes, it's still about being alone, but I love this song. I'm not sure why really, but I'm not going to question it. Just give this one a listen.

Year 2, Day 252
Hey. So today I give you Clarity by Zedd.
I wish I knew about these guys earlier. Their music is incredible. I love the lyrics for this song, and how it starts out as a ballad then moves into a quicker beat. The musicality is off the charts for this one. They just work so hard to make it entertaining throughout the whole song. I definitely recommend looking up more stuff by this band. I highly doubt you will be disappointed. So check them out.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 251
Hey everybody! So today's song is Insatiable by Darren Hayes.
This guy knows romance. The songs gives me chills and is easily the most erotic song I've ever heard. When he hits the high notes, you just melt. He's not even that good looking, like he isn't drop dead gorgeous. His voice makes him sexy. This is just so full of passion that I almost can't handle the emotions. This is the kind of music that I can't listen to in public, because I don't know what it'll make me do....haha. Tell me what you think of the song.

Year 2, Day 250
Hello. Today's song is Torn by Natalie Imbruglia.
Here's another older one, but still good. This song was a piece of my childhood. I used to listen to it all the time. Though like everyone else, I had no idea what it was called and who sang it. I only found out through my constant YouTube surfing. So just in case you're one of the masses who also knows this song, but doesn't know the song I figured I'd share it.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 249
Hey, so today's song is Criminal by Fiona Apple.
Welcome back to the nineties. I always liked her voice and this song, but I can't watch the video. The way she looks just freaks me out too much. This is what we call too skinny. If I can see all of your bones, especially the ribcage and spine, you need to eat a few hundred hamburgers. What I hate is that this was in style back then. At least now there a more larger singers to be role models instead of millions of teenage girls trying to look like this. Yes, it still happens, but I like to think it's not as bad now. Anyway, give the song a listen and tell me what you think.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 248
Hi. So today's song is Black Sheep by Gin Wigmore.
Now this is pissed off ex music. Forget about Taylor Swift, this is how you let your frustration out. Her voice is incredible! It's so gruff, but ridiculously cool at the same time. And in case it wasn't obvious, she is a bad ass. I hope to be as awesome as she is. Everything about this is perfect. I have no criticisms. The beat is sick, she is beautiful and talented and the whole song is the embodiment of cool. You need to hear this one.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 247
Hello! So today I give you Recovery by Frank Turner.
This guy. I think he's my new hero. This is such a great song, and he throws so much into it while still making it feel simple. That takes talent. At first I was not sure about it, but every time I listen to it, I fall more and more in love. This video is ace as well. I love how the screen is split in three showing the same things, but different. You have to watch to see. My favorite part is that they'll tell people they met in jail. I would love to see someone's reaction to that!! Anyway, check this one out.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 246
Hey guys. So today's song is Don't You Want Me Baby by Atomic Tom.
This is incredible. Seriously, this video deserves an award. There are so many 80's references, I almost can't handle it!! My goal is to figure out all of them. Honestly though, for a kid born in 1993 I knew a hell of a lot of them. At first when I found this I just chose it because I love this song. Then I saw it had the guy from That 70's Show. Then they started referencing and I was absolutely hooked. Wow. So I'm now going to list the ones I know and saw.
Here we go: Say Anything (movie with John Cusak), Dirty Dancing (movie with Swayze and Jennifer Grey), Ghostbusters (I will not explain because everyone should already know it), Weird Science (movie with Anthony Michael Hall, of my favorites from that era), Ghost (movie with Swayze and Demi Moore), Sixteen Candles (movie with Molly Ringwald).... I don't know the next one when he's in the grey suit. Then I think it's Beverly Hills Ninja, but I could be wrong, ET (obviously...it had young Drew Barrymore in it), don't understand the reece's pieces thing, or the rabbit....
The next one is obviously Star Wars, I don't know the next one, I think next is Poltergeist, but I blocked horror movies from my mind because my dad made me watch it when I was a kid. Top Gun! The movie with Tom Cruise in it....don't know the mermaid thing, though I feel like I should. Next is Teen Wolf (the original from the 80's), and then holy crap it's Marty McFly and Doc from BACK TO THE FUTURE!! These movies are my absolute favorites. Oh, Risky Business, everyone knows you. Again with Tom Cruise in it. Next is possibly supposed to be Indiana Jones...not too sure. Then it's Ferris Bueller's Day off!! Matthew Broderick was my hero as a child.
Umm...this is The Shining. Next one I have no idea. Haha! The bathing suit thing is from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Classic. Then not sure, not sure, next maybe Cocktail with Tom Cruise? Not sure of the basketball thing, Flash Dance, Friday Night, Can't Buy Me Love, not sure of white suits one, Caddyshack, and don't know the next three. After that though is Little Shop Of Horrors! My grandma and I have a "feed me Seymour" understanding...More Risky Business, The Blues Brothers, more Top Gun, more Teen Wolf, more Dirty Dancing, more of one I don't know, more Ghostbusters. And what better way to end an 80's night than by posing in the ultimate classic 80's movie pose from The Breakfast Club....damn for a 90's kid I really did okay. If you know the ones that I couldn't figure out, please tell me!!
Peace.

Year 2, Day 245
Hi. So today's song is Heart Skips A Beat by Lenka.
I wasn't too sure about this song at first, but I always give them until the chorus to hook me. This one did that. It's such an upbeat song. I honestly haven't heard a song like this before. Normally you can hear something and be like "oh it's sounds kind of like this." I couldn't do that with this song which intrigued me quite a bit. She seems fun. I've definitely never seen dancing stethoscopes before so congrats for originality on that one. I like almost the whole video...up until the end when they use the heart excuse to have a four second boob shot. It was good until then. Anyway I think you should give this song a listen, and if you can compare it to other music, I'd love to hear what music that is.
Peace.

Year 2, Day 244
Hello. Today's song is True Colors sung by Artists Against.
So this is another song with lots of artist collaboration for a good cause. It's the same idea as Wavin' Flag and We Are The World; except instead of for Haiti, it's for Kids Help Phone. Now, I'm torn about this. It is awesome that these artists want to stand up against bullying, but I don't know if Kids Help Phone is right. Ideally, it's an incredible idea, but I have friends who have called them only to be turned in to their parents and not believed by the people answering the calls. Bullying though needs to be addressed. I am someone who has spent the better part of my life being bullied, and the only thing you can do is stand up for yourself and not change who you are for other people. So anyone being bullied, hang in there. As cliché as it sounds, I can tell you that it gets better. Also, it is spelled colors because we are Canadian! So, stop freaking out about it YouTubers.
Peace.
