What's up? So today's song is A Comet Appears by The Shins.

I mentioned yesterday that later seasons of Chuck had more slow, sad music than it did previously. This song is an example of that. I don't normally like to bring out a lot of sad music because it adjusts my mood and puts me down a little, but I will make an exception for this one because it is really pretty. It's the type of song that you stop and listen to. Definitely not a driving song for the mindless listener. It's the style of music I could see us doing an a capella version of in choir....I'd really like to see that. If I was still in choir, I'd be interested in doing it. Who knows, maybe someone will use they're skills and power to make that a thing since I can't, but until then all you have is the original, so give it a chance.

Year 2, Day 303

Hi. So today's song is Fall Into Place by Apartment.

This is another song from the Chuck soundtrack. The later seasons don't have as many action packed tunes as earlier in the series, so this one was a pleasant surprise. Not that this is particularly engineered for a guns blazing scene, but it isn't for very sappy ones either. I love the guitar in it, and the do's are perfect. It just makes me feel good. The lyrics are showing hope that everything will turn out in the end, and that is all anyone can really ask for from life. The message is realistic. I doubt they wrote it just to make money, but there is a true meaning that they believe in. I respect that. So give this song a listen, and check out some more of their stuff.

Year 2, Day 302

Sup. So today's song is If You Could See Me Now by The Script.

I'm really tired, so let's make this a quick one. Finally home from Banff now. We didn't get much sleep because we were out doing stuff till early in the morning. We were supposed to go to this one club, but it was closed. Jamie and Carmen still wanted to go out though, so we ended up at a different club and there was absolutely no people inside. Just us and the DJ. So we went to the only other club in town to find that it was Girls Gone Wild night. I had a drink, Jamie talked up some guys and then we booked it out of there because that isn't really our scene. So instead we went and tried to find some live music and when that didn't work we went back to the hotel and curled up in bed watching movies. Getting up in the morning after that was not so fun, but the ride home was okay. Jamie showed me some music including this song that breaks my heart. I've always thought that The Script were good, but this song takes it to a whole new level. One of their dads died and this song was for him. It makes me sad, but the song is just so beautiful. So give this one a listen, and I think I'm going to go take a nap.

Hey guys. So today's song is Cruise by Florida Georgia Line.

My friend Carmen is up working in Banff this summer, so we decided that I should take a little trip up to see her. Today I loaded up myself and my other friend Jamie into my car and we took off because of that. It really isn't that far away, but it was still a trip. I honestly love highway driving though. I hate every other type, but give me a long stretch of straight road and some tunes and I'm good. Luckily for me, Jamie and I like the same music, so the trip was pretty chill. We've been running around all day and haven't had the chance to stop and relax. It's been pretty packed full, but in a good way. Met a few people who are pretty awesome. They all seem to be British...I guess Banff is the place to be? Fun Fact: It is the STI capital of the world....so don't go mack on anyone there. We're about to head out to watch Fast 6, but I thought I'd hit you guys up first. This song is good for the trip today. It's a good driving song and it's a little country, which is appropriate because everything is made of wood in Banff. It's more woodsy and a camping area than country, but whatever. So I've got to go now but give this song a listen.

Hello. Today I give you Fresh Feeling by Eels.

So I went to see my cousin today. It was...alright. For those who don't already know, I'm really not a fan of babies. They scare the crap out of me. This little fact isn't lost on my uncle, so he wasn't surprised that I was not interested in holding her. I did however sit beside her and let he hold my finger with her little baby fingers. She kept periodically squeezing and pulled my finger closer and closer to her. This is normal for babies. I just find it weird to see her since I was the last one born in my family. We've never had kids around. It's refreshing. Therefore today I have given you a song called fresh feeling, because it kind of reminds me of the way my day was with Mya.

Hi. So today's song is No One's Gonna Love You by Band Of Horses.

This is one of those songs that makes you happy and sad at the same time. It's a perfect romance piece considering that he is singing about his love, but the way they play makes it feel sad. It's a song about lost love, in my opinion. I'm a big fan of how the video for this song is a bunch of clips of the band. It's like a history of them up until that point. This band has had the most transitions of members I have ever seen. There are ten people who used to be in this band throughout the span of their career and currently there are five people in it. So all in all, fifteen different people. Wow. Maybe this song is about the lost love of previous members? I find it surprising that only one member from the original group is still in the band. I guess he had the final say on everything...I don't know. No matter what happened between all the members, we got some great music out of it. So enjoy this song and tell me what you think.

Hey. So today's song is Gone Daddy Gone by Gnarls Barkley.

This is a disturbing video. I find it so creepy. I'm sure Cee Lo Green thought he was being original with this, which he probably was... but I hate bugs. Not to mention my hatred gets worse when they touch me. Blech. Just watching this makes me feel like I have something on me. If we can ignore the video, I can tell you that I enjoy listening to this song because of the xylophone sounding beats in the background if nothing else. Obviously this is from before he got ridiculously famous and branched out on his own. Proof that his music has always been good. But now instead of being in Gnarls Barkley, he is simply famous on his own and the mentor of many new singers. He knows the music industry. He knows what people want. This is why he is so successful. If you haven't heard this song give it a listen. It's not my favorite Gnarls Barkley song, but it is still a good one, so...yeah.

Hello, so today's song is Friday I'm In Love by The Cure.

It's Friday! This song I've been holding on to for a couple days, but I felt it was important to post it on the actual day. So finally, here it is. This is a pretty mellowed out song, but the lyrics are so great. No song about a weekday will ever be better than this one. Unfortunately there are more well known ones, thanks to the whole Rebecca Black debacle. I'm glad that's over with. So tonight Sammy and Will are off to the Imagine Dragons concert. I kind of wish I was going, but I'm sure they'll come back again. I also missed the chance to see Down With Webster yesterday, but in my defense I had no idea they were playing. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I am only interested in going to see bands play that sound the way they do on the record. If I'm paying money to come watch you sing live, you better be able to actually sing live. Anyway, this song is a happy one that lifts my mood. I'm using it to drown out my live music blues. If you are like me and have no big plans tonight, this should help with your blues too.

Hello. So today's song is September by Earth, Wind & Fire.

I have some news for you guys. Apparently yesterday at the same time that I was writing my post, my aunt was giving birth to my new baby cousin. It's a little strange because I'm twenty and she's just been born, but whatever. Everyone in my family has had kids young...until now. I find it entertaining because when I was born, my uncle was twenty. Him to me, is me to his kid. If that makes any sense. Anyway, I find it a good sign that she was born the day I gave you an iconic song, so it only makes sense to continue with this pattern. Now this song is iconic. I know this by the fact that it came out fifteen years before I was born. What a groovy song. This is funk music at it's best and I feel that everyone should know it. So enjoy this for today, and don't be afraid to groove to it.

Morning! So today's song is Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is by Jet.

Another amazing band for you right here. I love Jet. The singers voice is just so unique, and when he sings high... wow. I am a sucker for a decent falsetto and this man has an incredible one. The beat of this song is wicked to. You can help but rock to it. The band did change their sound as they've progressed through their career, but like I said earlier this year it's not something we should have a say in. People need to change. No matter what, Jet will be immortalized in this song for us all to enjoy. So check it out.

Hey. So today's song is Bears by Sam Isaac.

As you can tell from most of the comments, I found this song because it was featured in a ridiculously good (and unfortunately discontinued) television show called Chuck. I'll be featuring many of the same bands and artists that are heard throughout the seasons because one of the greatest things about the show is the soundtrack. All of the music is incredible...but really that isn't surprising to me. I mean they used a song by Cake as the theme song. That shows that the people in charge of these choices are good at their job. This is a calmer song used for the wrapping up moments after all the danger on the show, but still beautiful. Just listen to it and you'll see what I mean.

I'm just wiped today guys. I've had a full long weekend and have barely stopped moving for the whole thing so I don't really have the energy for enlightenments on music today. Not that I've ever had anything truly monumental to say in the first place...anyway the top YouTube comment says it all. "This song gives me a little bit of Sting and Savage Garden. Michael Logen's voice is just tempting and mesmerizing. And that dark and urban electronic beats are spot-on. So good. Hope it gets more views." I agree with him, so I'm giving you guys the opportunity to up the views and find a new artist to enjoy.

Hi Guys. So today I give you We're Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister.

I'm going a little old school today because some songs are just too good to not stay current. It bothers me that tweens today may not know about bands as awesome as these guys right here because they are too into their pop music. Yes I like pop music, but I was raised on country from my mom and classic rock from my dad. This is why I am a little bit of a crazy person with a dash of badassness. It's very rare, but when I get like that usually this is the soundtrack in my head. I used to hangout in my house blasting this when I was home alone...while I rocked air guitar. The guys are kind of frightening, but all must agree that this song is iconic. So hear it, know it, love it. That is all.

Hey. So today's song is Feeling Good by Michael Buble'.

He is awesome, am I right? He has an incredible voice, he's kind of adorable, the songs he releases are amazing and he is such a good role model. Plus he swears like a trucker. Probably not the best trait, but when it comes from a dude so classy it intrigues me. There has been a video floating around for awhile now of him and this teen at one of his concerts. I've seen it so many times and found it months ago, but I wanted to show it to you all because I love it so much. I attached the link here. So you should listen to this because it's perfect. Sammy and I are huge fans of him and you should be too. So enjoy this tidbit for today.

Hello. So today's song is Don't Blink by Relient K.

I'm a big fan of these guys, have been ever since Sammy showed them to me in junior high. This is a relatively new song of theirs hence why this is a lyric video. I like the concept of lyric videos. No matter what there is always someone who wants to look up the words to their favorite songs and people who want a video. This way the fans get both and from a reliable source so you know the lyrics are correct. I've seen some pretty terrible interpretations of lyrics before and....never again. Anyway, this music always makes me happy. I love listening to this band because I haven't found a song I didn't like. So check them out and tell me what you think.

Hi. So today's song is We'll Be Alright by Travie McCoy.

Don't judge me, but I watch some hilariously bad movies. One of those being Prom. I don't know how realistic the storyline is in the US where it's set (apparently they go bat shit crazy for prom) but here no one cares that much. Sure we have grad, but we sit in a gym all morning for the ceremony, get about two hours to change and get ready, then go to a dinner dance with our families. Anyway, back to this movie. It was cheesy, but I secretly loved some of the music including this song. It's just so happy and I love that! I can't help but smile listening to this, so I decided to share it with you, because we could all use a little happy today...it's kind of a dreary day here so I'm trying to add extra happiness. What's Up? So today's song is American Boy by Estelle ft. Kanye West.

Oh man, this is an old one for me. I used to sing this all the time, I was a huge fan of this song. This was before Kanye made everyone hate him for his drunken shit show. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just look up Kanye and Taylor Swift. You'll see. I imagine after that incident people stopped wanting to work with Kanye, thus we had the rise of Chris Brown in the immediate radio playlist...then we started to hate him too. Although Chris didn't go into hiding the way Kanye did. As much as I disprove of him as a person I still like this song. Mostly that's because I liked it for Estelle before, and she's still saving it now. So no matter who you like or don't like, check out the song and tell me what you think.

Hey Guys. So today's song is Monsters by Angus Stone.

Angus is an Australian guy who lives and breathes the music industry. He's kind of a big deal, though no one here has ever heard of him. Mostly because we only ever get the stuff that the US thinks is cool, and that usually means people based in L.A. That's why YouTube is such a good thing because I find way better music looking at international artists than listening to the radio in my city. Now this song is obviously pretty tame, but come on. He's a folk singer. This is folk music. It's incredible. It helps to be in the right mood to listen to it, so if you don't initially like it, come back in a few days when you're in the mood for something mellow. It'll change your experience.

Hi everyone. Today I give you Long Time Ago by Current Swell.

Okay, there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed after being gone for awhile. Amazing. Now this song is brilliant. Everything I could say would never put it better than the first comment on this video does. "So simple. Seems so carefree. Like a bunch of kids wanting to be outdoors defying nature. No machines, no buildings, no chaos. Just some people making music hoping people like it. I'm a sucker for simplicity as a lifestyle choice." This Stephanie (name buddies!) is so right. I believe all music should be like this, just people doing it for the love of music and hoping others like it. Lately everything has become about the show you put on, not the sound you create. And the sound is what music is really about. So I applaud this band for knowing what music is really about and creating that for others. You guys are incredible.

Hey. So today's song is Through Frozen Forests by Aaron Espe.

I'm back! That was a loooong weekend, but so worth it. This song is about forests, since I was in one. Ours wasn't frozen because summer has officially started, but normally it's covered in snow. Plus it's a slower song because after the weekend I had I need to relax and have a nap. So I went out to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation camp to volunteer my time and set everything up. There were a bunch of Tim's owners from Alberta and BC there, as well as some of the camp counselors and friends of the organization. There was so much stuff to do. Some of the things on the task list was organizing the stables, building a dock for the pond, painting soccer posts, brush clearing the trails etc. In other words, making everything safe and pretty for the campers. All the people were super nice and I made a few friends and we got pretty much everything done. I can tell you that I am covered in paint, mosquito bites and a sunburn. So worth it. If you get the chance to, you should volunteer in your own community. It is the perfect opportunity to make connections with people and make a difference. Also it looks awesome on your resume. So if you take only one thing away from what I have to say take this: go out and volunteer.

Do It. It's good for you in so many ways.

Hello. Today's song is Big Blue Wave by Hey Ocean!

No, I didn't lie to you yesterday. I'm currently at Tim's Camp, probably scrubbing something. I wrote this yesterday and scheduled it to publish while I'm gone. Pretty smart eh? And one quick thing: what I just did is the only correct way of using eh in Canada. It replaces huh in conversations. Just so you know. This song is really awesome. I feel like I found a new favorite band. Also they seem like huge dorks if you watch the video. I'm not entirely sure what is going on in some of those shots, but I love how they filmed it. So I will definitely be checking out more stuff by this band and I think you should too. P.S These guys are from Vancouver, so they're Canadian so another show of how Canada is awesome!! Yes, I'm slightly biased, but I'm proud of bands from places I know.

Hey Guys. So today's song is Hey Love by Quadron.

So today I'm leaving for the weekend to go to Tim's Camp. Since most of you probably have no idea what I'm talking about I shall explain. I used to work for Tim Horton's and they have a fundraiser where they raise money and send underprivileged kids to camp. These camps happen year round in all different provinces across Canada and no one ever really hears about the camps except for the people who go. Obviously I'm not an underprivileged child, but I am a volunteer. I'm still friends with the owners of the Tim's I worked at, and so I was invited to spend a weekend in Kananaskis country, which is beautiful, and clean up the camp to get it ready for the kids. So I'm going to be without technology for the next couple days, but I figured I'd keep you updated. Anyway, this music. Her voice is incredible and it's pretty catchy, but I really love the simplicity of this video. All the guys are ridiculously cool in their bow ties and suit jackets. The different dances for each of them is an inspired idea. I approve. So you guys should watch the video, and I'll see you on Sunday.

Yes, this is another party song. Whatever, my summer has officially started. I passed all my classes, even the ones I had already written off as a fail and now I'm just gunna have fun and tell the world to suck it. So clearly a man filmed this video. There's more boob shots in this than in a strip club. Burn. Haha, I know that was lame, but I'm just saying. This is supposed to be a music video, not a production of R.I.O makes a porno. Anyway just focus on the song. I know it's pretty different than the music I've been putting up this year, but old habits die hard. Give it a chance.

So here's some dancing music for ya. I've been having kind of a weird week. My schedule is completely screwed up. I've been going to sleep when everyone else is normally waking up, which is not good for me because it's really difficult to fix that. At least I'm not the only one on a ridiculous clock because I've been hanging out with people everyday. This is a big deal...I'm kind of a hermit. But so, because I've been having a party week (it feels wrong calling it that, but oh well) I felt like we needed a party song. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Hey. So today's song is Say Somethin by Austin Mahone.

This guy sounds like he should be in One Direction. The music sounds the same as theirs and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just interesting to me. It seems like there are more boy band sounding things these days. I guess we always knew boy bands would make a comeback, but I still love my N*Sync and Backstreet Boys. I wanted to put this song up purely because the fan names are hilarious. It's become a thing to name the fans of artists. Some examples are Beliebers, Hopefuls, Galaxy Defenders etc. The fans of this guy? Mahomies. This is brilliant and so funny. I love it. Hello! So today I give you Red Hands by Walk Off The Earth.

This is a song that has gone pretty mainstream. I wish a warm congratulations to the band on that considering they were kind of discovered through YouTube. This is played on the radio a lot in many countries now, including here in Canada...which is no surprise since well, they're Canadian. The video of them all playing the same guitar was a little unorthodox, but it got them noticed and people recognized the natural talent. So I praise them for making themselves known, and getting their music out there. I wish best of luck to these Ontarians.

Hi everybody. So today's song is Call It Off by Tegan And Sara.

I stayed away from their songs for a long time because they kind of popped up out of nowhere and had a mass a crazed fans instantly. I thought that people liked the idea of them more than their music so I wanted to let it play out for awhile before I got involved. It's been long enough. Their music is surprisingly good and I enjoy listening to it, but I also see the appeal of them. Being twins makes them popular initially and the fact that they're openly gay makes them both an icon for followers and a target for haters. After reading up about them a little bit, I'm pleased to see they have been working hard for the fame they have...and I'm proud to say they are from the same place I am! Anyway I just wanted to say that all around they seem like awesome people and they are fantastic at what they do. So play on girls, and tell the rest of the world to suck it.

Hey. So today's song is Inside My Love by Delilah.

The first time I heard this song, it was actually a remix and I liked it, but I thought I should hear the original, and the original is better. In the original you can really get a feel for her voice and it's ridiculously good. I'm glad that more natural talent is finding it's way to mainstream music. Between Delilah, Jessie Ware and Adele, we're getting a good collection going. The video is kind of intimate, as dancing always seems to be, but it's so intimate that it almost feels wrong to watch and experience the intensity. I don't know, I get weirded out about everything so maybe it's just me, but it feels pretty private. Tell me what you guys think.

So today I'm trying to be optimistic and make the best of the dumb shit happening. My dad and I have kind of made up for now so I can finish school then run away, my sister and I are closer than ever and I have a friend back so I don't feel so buried in my family issues. Not to mention I cleaned everything in my house and went through all my belongings...I threw out half of them. I need a new start, a new me. This song is helping me to feel good about that and I hope it'll have the same effect on you guys. So enjoy today because it just might be your greatest day.

Hello. So today's song is All The Rowboats by Regina Spektor.

So this girl is American, but she was born in Moscow which I think is pretty cool. I've never been to Russia, but I would love to go sometime and see what it's like. I've noticed lately that my audience is mostly Russian. This makes me really excited because I don't know you guys and yet you are reading my strange ramblings. I just want to say thanks for reading! You guys a pretty awesome. So this song. Regina has an incredible voice. I wish I sounded as good as her, but alas only certain people get the talent. I think playing an instrument helps because I know in the high school band when you were first learning a song you had to hum your part before picking up your instrument. Ideally if you can play, you should be able to sing, but it's not always the case. My sister is proof of this. Sure she can play piano, clarinet, alto sax and a little guitar, but you will never catch her singing. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think playing an instrument helps to learn to sing?

Real country wasn't about the glamor, but about the feeling you got, but yeah this is classic. There is a banjo, and guitar and a violin.
