Year 8, Day 92

These guys are an indie pop band from BC active since 2016 and made up of Neil Smith, Mikey Pascuzzi, Peter Wilton, and Christopher Vanderkooy. Since then, they've released an EP in 2016 and three albums, the first in 2017 with another in 2020 and their most recent once coming out earlier this year. I've featured them before so this shouldn't be a new name for you who've been around for awhile. Smith was the only one that had been working in other bands prior to their forming, with the rest having regular jobs, but they all quit to pursue this group and have been touring since banding together. While the band considers their sound to be "chewed bubblegum pop", they've been classified by others as surf rock or sad pop. I don't know if any one description fits their sound, but I'll let you decide for yourselves.

Hey guys. Today's song is As Innocent Looking As Candy by Night Moves.

This is an American indie rock band formed in 2010 and is made up of John Pelant, Micky Alfano, Mark Hanson, Charles Murlowski. They're signed with Domino Records, and have released two EPs, one in 2017 and another this year. They've also released three albums, the first in 2012, with another in 2016 and another in 2019. This is one of their newer songs, from their EP from this year, so if you like it, you should go check out their earlier stuff. Enjoy!

Year 8, Day 90

Hey guys. Today's song is When I See You Smile by Bad English.

This is a British/American glamgroup active from 1987 to 1991 and made up of John Waite, Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ricky Phillips, and Deen Castronovo. The name of the band actually came from a game of pool, where English refers to the spin put on the cue ball. Waite missed a shot and Cain comment on his bad English and I guess it stuck. Cain and Schon had formerly been in Journey (which I think we all know after Glee) so the guys joined Waite to form this band after Journey disbanded. Phillips had previously made albums with Wait and Cain, and also joined the group. Their debut album came out in 1989 and was a big hit, which is also where this song is from. They released a second album in 1991 which really didn't move the needle and the group ended up breaking up after disputes about the style of music they wanted to make. Waite went back to being solo, Schon and Castronovo both joined a band together briefly before leaving with Castronovo joining Ozzy Osbourne's band and Schon working on other stuff. Later in the 90's Schon, Cain, and Castronovo would all join a reformed Journey. As for Phillips he did session work recording with a bunch of different artists before joining the band Styx in the 2000's. Though the band itself didn't have a long career, all these guys clearly did in their other musical pursuits and I hope you check them out in those.

So I'm going to make this really brief because I just finished writing yesterday's post while trying to get caught up and it was so long! I'm tired. And you guys all know Queen by now. Around since 1970, members include Brian May, Roger Taylor, Freddie Mercury, and John Deacon. They released 15 albums from the 70's to the 90's and shaped what rock is today. They've had a ton of hits, many that I've featured here before, including the one today. So I hope you like it.

Year 8, Day 88

Hey guys. Today's song is Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac.

So this is a band that was active from 1967 until 1995, then again since 1997 with members currently being Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, Mike Campbell, Neil  Flynn. Past members include a lot of people, them being Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Bob Brunning, Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch, Bob Weston, Dave Walker, Lindsey Buckingham, Billy Burnette, Rick Vito, Bekka Bramlett, and Dave Mason, plus an equally long list of touring members. Over the band's career they released 17 albums, with only one of those being since they came back. Green, Fleetwood, Spencer, and Brunning were the original members, although Brunning was only meant to stay until John McVie joined, and actually the groups name of Fleetwood Mac includes his nickname (Mac) because the Fleetwood and Green wanted him in, which he was after a few weeks. After two albums Kirwan joined which developed their sound since he had a unique style. In 1970 Green left the band, I don't know the reason, but during their last tour he had been doing drugs and had a bad LSD trip that changed him. Christine McVie (originally Perfect) had done some album art and backup vocals before marrying McVie and joining the group after having her own solo work. In 2971 Spencer went missing, later being found having joined a "religious group" (though it sounds more like a cult) so Green came back temporarily to help with the band's obligations before their new guitarist was found in Welch. After a couple albums, the touring started to become problematic with Kirwan becoming alcohol dependent and causing chaos, essentially having a breakdown. He was fired for it, leading to hiring Weston and Walker, but after recording an album they got rid of Walker because they felt his style and attitude was wrong for them. They had another album but then personal problems led to cancelled tours and Weston being fired for having an affair with Fleetwood's wife. Ultimately the band decided to split up. 

 But the band manager didn't like that since he had a tour booked but no band, so he hired a new band and called them the New Fleetwod Mac, claiming that it was done with the OK of the band and that Fleetwood would join them later on the tour. Obviously this was a lie, and even though the band was great and sounded like they were totally innocent of anything, the crowds became hostile to them which led to members quitting and the band being dissolved. I really feel for those guys. After that there was a lawsuit about who owned the band name, and actually led to the band relocating from England to America in 1974. They elected to manage themselves instead of having a manager (I would too after that snake) and released their ninth album. They added Graves but that ended up being temporary, replaced with Hunt, then Welch left afterwards, tired of touring and fighting legal battles. He was replaced with Buckingham, who would only join if Nicks was included too. Their next album in 1975 was a breakthrough album for them, but in 1976 the band was severely stressed: Buckingham and Nicks broke up, the McVies got divorced, and Fleetwood was in the process of  getting divorced. A couple more albums were released, some solos for some members, and a world tour before the band went on hiatus because the member seemed to all be having various problems that needed to be dealt with. After a blowout meeting in 1987, Buckingham left the group then was replaced with Burnette and Vito. They released an album which had a new sound without Buckingham at the helm. In 1990 Christine McVie said it would be her last tour, but she'd still record with them, and in 1991 Nicks and Vito both left the group. A lineup of the McVies, Fleetwood, Buckingham and Nicks reunited in 1993 at the request of Bill Clinton. After Fleetwood, the McVies, and Burnette did an album before Burnette left being replaced with Bramlett, though Burnette rejoined a year later. They did another album before Christine quit, then the band disbanded altogether. Except not really because they kept working together with past member and essentially jumped right back in. I'm gonna leave it off here because honestly I can't write anymore about these people. They may make good music, but their whole career feels like a teenage romance where they break up and get back together every day and I find I don't care anymore. I mean props to keep working with your exes and rivals and stuff you guys do you. If you want to know more about their reforming days go look them up, it'll probably have a lot more lineups. Hey guys. Today's song is Hello, Goodbye by the Beatles.

So The Beatles was a British band made up of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The group only lasted ten years, from 1960 until 1970, but they all did solo stuff as well. Two of them are gone now, but the other two are still active. In the early formation of the band there were other members that didn't last, and those people are Pete Best, Stuart Sutcliffe, Chas Newby, Norman Chapman, and Tommy Moore; plus one touring drummer named Jimmie Nicol. The Beatles led the British Invasion (of music). The British invasion basically means that in America suddenly British culture was becoming popular. The same thing happened a few years ago when suddenly the American music market was flooded with Raggaeton music from artists popular in Latin America. The British Invasion though was huge and unheard of at the time. Over the decade, the Beatles released 13 albums and one compilation album, and most of those songs are still popular today. They are the best-selling band in history and basically set every possible record there is. Only recently have people been surpassing them in some of those, which is kind of insane. So today is a day for some more of the Beatles.

Year 8, Day 86

Hey guys. Today's song is It's Still Rock and Roll To Me by Billy Joel.

Billy Joel was born to Jewish parents, and his family has a lot of music in their blood. His parents ended up splitting up, and he would take jobs playing piano at bars while going to school to help his mom make ends meet. When he failed to graduate (because of the playing) he decided to just skip it and foray into his music career. He started with a band called the Echoes, but changed the name to the Emeralds, then to the Lost Souls. He left after two years and joined a band called the Hassles who ultimately failed and then split from there to form a duo with the drummer. That group also failed when he had an affair with the drummer's wife (soon to become his first wife). He signed as a solo artist in 1970, but because of a studio fuck up his music didn't do well at first. It wasn't until people heard live versions that he started to get noticed. By 1973, he signed with (and could actually make music on) a new label, and Piano Man was born. For the next decade he popped out hits left and right, songs that are still classics today. At that point he was starting to get branded as a soft rocker which he took offense to, so he spent a couple years playing with his sound and being more adventurous in his topics. In 1983 he went back to lighter music with a tribute to the doo wop era, which is where this song comes from. The 90's saw an upheaval of the people he kept around him with most being pushed out of the picture and a couple different lawsuits for fraud being filed. By this time he was on to wife number two. By 1994 he was divorced again, and playing concerts with Elton John. Which is perfect because my brain always pairs them up. He continued touring in the 2000's and by 2007 was recording music again (which he hadn't done for 14 years at that point). He's continued on this way and still does today, so I don't know if retirement will ever be a thing for him, but he sure has had a lasting career and has shattered records. It's kind of amazing.

Hey guys. Today's song is Goody Two Shoes by Adam Ant.

Adam Ant is Stuart Goddard, an English singer active since 1977. He originally started playing bass in a band, then performed as Adam and the Ants with another band. He found new management fro the group, but instead that manager took his band and formed a new group with them. A new version of Adam and the Ants was formed but they disbanded in 1982. After that he went solo, releasing five albums in the 90's and one in 2013. He has done some stuff in between including making record labels, performing for charity events and causes, and writing an autobiography in 2006. He spent some time touring both before and after the 2013 album and was actually supposed to do another tour when the pandemic hit but has been happening this year instead. So he is still around if you're looking.

Year 8, Day 84

Hey guys. Today's song is Shake Your Coconuts by Junior Senior.

This is a Danish group active from 1998 to 2008, made up of Jesper Mortensen and Jeppe Laursen. The two had been in a band before called Ludo-X, but the had broken up in 1995. Junior Senior got signed to a label, then released their debut album in 2002. Some of their songs have been used in video games, TV shows, and movies. Their next album was released in 2005, and in 2006 they had a fan contest to appear in a music video of theirs (I'm pretty sure it's this one). The group parted ways in 2008 so they could each pursue solo careers, with Laursen releasing an EP in 2009, and Mortenson releasing a single under the Moniker I Scream Ice Cream before forming a group called MAKE OUT in 2010. So if you want to look more into those, you should. I haven't yet so what you find really will be a mystery.

Year 8, Day 83

Hey guys. Today's song is Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) by The Offspring.

So this is a band that's been around for awhile, active since 1984. Currently there are only three members in Dexter Holland, Noodles, and Todd Morse (Holland being the only original member) with an incredible amount of past member including Doug Thompson, Marcus Parrish, Jim Benton, James Lilja, Ron Welty, Atom Willard, Greg K, and Pete Parada. In that time they've released ten albums, the first in 1989 and the most recent from 2021. The group is known for being one of the bands to revive the interest in punk rock in the 90's. This is one of their more known songs, but there stuff has actually been featured in a ton of stuff, so even if you don't know the band, you probably know at least one of their songs. Like many other groups they too were working on music during the pandemic so they have an upcoming album in the new year, so keep an eye out.

Year 8, Day 82

Hey guys. Today's song is Everybody Get Up by Five.

Five is a British boy band that was active from 1997 to 2001, with a brief return in 2006, then back officially since 2013. Currently the members include Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, and Sean Conlon with two past members in Jason "J" Brown and Richard "Abz Love" Breen. So in 1997, Bob and Chris Herbert (after creating the Spice Girls) put out an ad looking for young male performers for an edgy boy band. They had 3000 guys show up, which got narrowed down to 9, then further down to the 5 then signed to a label by Simon Cowell. They released two albums by 2001 and were about to release their third when two of the members had absences: Conlon for a mental break from the stress, though they lied about it at the time, and Robinson to spend time with his son who was born premature. After the album came out Conlon left the group, though management hid it from the rest for awhile before the whole group ultimately split. In 2006 everyone but Conlon came back for a reunion and were trying to make a comeback, but after not getting a deal had split again by 2007. In 2012 though Conlon approached the group about trying again. Originally they all were going to come back, but after Brown had caused so many psychological issues for Conlon in the past, they chose to continue with just four coming back in 2013. They toured in 2014 including touring with McBusted, then Love announced he was leaving the group on Twitter, which would be fine but he didn't tell the other guys before he did it. Kind of rude in my opinion. He also said he only came back for the money, and didn't want to sing teen songs again. The three released a compilation in 2016, then joined a tour in 2019 with some other groups which ended up getting cut short by COVID. They made some new stuff over the pandemic, and along with some rebranding, released their new album with just the three in the beginning of this year. It's kind of weird to have a three piece group called Five, but from the sounds of it they're better off without the other two that aren't involved. This obviously is an older song with the five, but check out the new stuff if you're curious.

Year 8, Day 81

Hey guys. Today's song is Static by The Wrecks.

So these guys are an indie rock band from California and have been around since 2015 and currently consists of Nick Anderson, Aaron Kelley, Nick Schmidt and Billy Nally. Their EP was recorded on a whim when they were barely a band yet and had 3 days of studio time... although later they found out they actually weren't supposed to have studio time, but by then they had an EP ready. I know I've shown you these guys before as they are one of my favorite finds since doing the blog. And this video just goes to show why I enjoy them so much because, aside from the great music, they seem like huge dorks and I love it. Compared to last time I showed these guys, they now actually have a wikipedia page detailing their success, so they must be more widely known now, and that makes me happy. So far they've released 3 Ep's with the most recent from 2020, two live albums with the most recent from 2021, and two albums: one from 2020 and another from this year, so the boys have been working hard and there is lots for you to check out.

Hey guys. Today's song is Psycho by Taylor Acorn.

Oh boy, hey everybody. I had prepared about two weeks of posts in advance in hopes that while I did a complete overhaul of my room which meant going offline again that I wouldn't get behind again. Apparently that wasn't enough though. It's taking longer than I thought because I kept encountering unexpected little problems that have been a bitch to fix. Currently I'm still not set back up yet, but I have commandeered a family members computer briefly to see how bad it is. Right now I think I'm only three days behind so it's at least not as bad as the wait when my old computer died, and luckily I already had the songs picked out for those days. For this one, Taylor doesn't have any official bio I can find, and I don't really know anything about her. It's one of the newer songs I've found, meaning it has been saved in my list for the last two years, but I like it just the same. Hopefully you do too.

Year 8, Day 79

Hey guys. Today's song is Don't Let Me Get Me by P!nk.

Pink is a stage name for Alecia Beth Moore active since 1995. The name came from a character from a Quentin Tarantino movie and was a mean nickname that she owned when she started performing in clubs at fourteen. She auditioned and was chosen for a girl group that disbanded before ever making music. After that she formed a different group with two other girls and called it Choice. They got signed and were together for a bit before the label guy made her go solo. Pink was officially signed in 1999 and released her debut single a year later. Her album became huge, leading to her winning Female New Artist of the Year and then she toured with NSYNC. The next year she teamed up and did Lady Marmalade, which gained her even more fame. With her second album she changed the sound, tired of being written off as a pop act. This shot her into international fame and won her tons of awards. Over the years she's released a lot of music, collaborated with all kinds of people and stepped her game up in basically every way. I am floored by how incredible she is so you should really check it all out. I could go on and on, but this is already getting long so I'll stop here, but seriously look into her music.

Hey guys. Today's song is LOUD by Sofia Carson.

Sofia Char is known as Sofia Carson and she is an actress and singer, active since 2012. She was signed as a singer/songwriter since 2012, but first started to be known for singing after being part of the Descendants franchise which is a series of musical movies complete with soundtracks, of which the first was released in 2015. In 2016 she was signed as a recording artist, releasing singles consistently over the next couple years in between her film and television roles. She's more prevalent as an actress right now rather than as a singer, but she's still worth checking out, so I hope you give her a chance.

Hey guys. Today's song is Oh my God by Adele.

Adele is an English singer active since 2006. She's been singing ever since she was young, but officially started her career after finishing school. Some songs that she did for a school project were posted to MySpace and got popular, leading to her being signed in 2006. Since then she has released four albums, and while that doesn't sound like much her career is huge and way too much to get into detail. Fun Fact though, each album is named as a number, representative of her age at the time. I'm not gonna go into any more because I've featured her a lot so this should be enough since I'm sure you all know who Adele is by now. Enjoy,

Year 8, Day 76

Hey guys. Today's song is Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.

Celine Dion is from Quebec and started her career as a french singer, releasing her first album in 1981, which her manager funded by mortgaging his house. It was a big success, and the next year she got started internationally by winning awards at the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo. She won several other awards before then being chosen to represent Switzerland in Eurovision in 1988, which she also won. And if you're sitting there wondering why a Canadian was singing for Switzerland, there is actually no rule saying a representative needs to be from that given country. Unfortunately the next year she injured her vocal chords and had to take some time to recuperate her voice. She released eight albums in french before making her English debut in 1990 with her ninth album. She has always claimed though to be a french artist, and actually turned down an English artist of the year award in 1991. This song came out in 1997 and won her two more Grammy awards, as well as an Academy Award and Golden Globe for the songwriters James Horner and Will Jennings. She released 13 albums throughout the 90's before taking a hiatus when her husband/manager received a cancer diagnosis, but she returned after the 9/11 attacks, ending a three year break. For most of the 2000's she was doing shows in Vegas which was considered risky for her career but ultimately earned her millions. She returned to the usual (album and touring) for awhile in 2007 before returning to the Vegas show scene in 2011 until 2014 when she indefinitely postponed the shows due to her husband's condition worsening, and cancelled outright after he passed away in 2016. She has been back since then with more albums, more tours, and more shows, though the fate of the latter is in flux currently because of her own health concerns. I left a lot out so this didn't go on forever, but her career as a whole is huge so if you're curious go check her out.

Year 8, Day 75

Hey guys. Today's song is All Or Nothing by O-Town.

O-Town as a group was formed in 2000 on a reality show called Forming the Band. It's named for the city where auditions were held, that being Orlando. The show selected Ashley Parker Angel, Erik Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, and Ikaika Kahoano, but Kahoanoleft and was replaced with Dan Miller. They were signed, then released their first album in 2001. They released their second album in 2002, but after not doing as well as previously the label let them go and the group disbanded. Some members went on to focus on solo career, then in 2013 most of the band came back together for a reunion. The got back together and started releasing more music, releasing an album in 2014. Since then they've also released an EP in 2017 and another album in 2019. So there's lots of new stuff to check out.

Year 8, Day 74

Hey guys. Today's song is Counting Blue Cars by Dishwalla.

So Dishwalla is an American band active since 1993 until 2005, then again since 2008 with current members including Rodney Browning Cravens, Scot Alexander, Jim Wood, George Pendergast, and Justin Fox with past members including J.R. Richards, Pete Maloney, and Greg Kolanek. With the original lineup, the band released four EPs, one live album, and four albums by 2005. After the break, they came back with the original members Alexander, Cravens, Wood, and Pendergast, and with a new lead singer in Justin Fox who was a longtime friend. Then that lineup has since released two more albums, one from this year. Now this song in particular is an older one, so it has J.R. Richards as the lead singer. It's one that I remember when I hear it, but always forget about in the interim so when I found it again I saved it immediately to show to you guys. I hope you like it.

Hey guys. Today's song is Used To Be by Arrows To Athens. 

Arrows to Athens is a joint music project between guitarist Steven Miller and David Hodges. There seem to be other members based on the photos, but I can't find out who they are. After parting with his label, Hodges started to work on all kinds of music projects. His name might not sound too familiar too, but I'm sure his former discography does, as he used to be a member of Evanescence, Trading Yesterday, and The Age of Information before starting this project. Arrows to Athens officially has been around since 2011 with the release of their debut album. They released another album in 2016, and although I haven't heard of anything since then, their early stuff is worth checking out. In fact I have another song saved for later so look forward to that.

Year 8, Day 72

Hey guys. Today's song is Empire by Beth Crowley.

Beth Crowley got her start in 2011 when she posted a video on YouTube that went viral. After that she started focusing on original music, releasing a song on YouTube in 2013 that was based on the Cassandra Clare novel series. She has done many different songs inspired by fiction, including this one which is inspired by the Game of Thrones. She's released two EPs and a full length album, and is also writing her own novel so she's going strong. If you're curious about other book-based songs, go check her out. You never know what you'll find.

Year 8, Day 71

Hey guys. Today's song is Numb Little Bug by Em Beihold.

Em Beihold is an American singer, active since 2017 with the release of her debut EP. She got started in music young, learning to play the piano after seeing one in a shop window when she was a kid and instantly being interested. She staring to play when she was six, and started songwriting as early as seven. In 2017 she wrote a sing for a movie, and starting receiving some exposure for her singles gaining popularity on social media. It happened again in 2021, with a new single being a big hit on TikTok, and led to her being signed. After being signed she released this song through her label, and clearly it's very popular. I know I personally had it on repeat for the first couple days after I found it. She released an EP this year and is still going strong so keep an eye out for more from her.

Year 8, Day 70

Hey guys. Today's song is Anxiety by MindMe.

Unfortunately I have absolutely zero information about this artist because even Epidemic Sound doesn't have a bio for them, so I'm just going to ramble. This is one of kind of a lot of songs pertaining to mental health that I have saved to use. It's pretty normal for me to feature songs like that, but I think with the state of the world the last couple years there seems to be more music about people's mental stability circling in the mainstream. I'm glad that the stigma about talking about mental health issues is being broken down and I hope to see it continue to dissolve further, and who knows, maybe someday there will actually be a good system of resources available across the board to everyone who needs it without breaking the bank. For now though, we'll all keep listening to songs  like these to cope.

Hey guys. Today's song is Passive Aggressive by Loving Caliber.

So Loving Caliber is a trio from Sweden active since 2013, and made up of Michael Stenmark, Linda Stenmark and Anders Lystell. So Anders and Linda are together as a couple, and Michael and Linda are siblings so it's a real family affair. I've featured them before with some of their most popular tracks that got them some recognition online. Since 2020, Michael has stepped up as the face of the group and they've been releasing some new more folky pop music, so I hope you check that out.

Hey guys. Today's song is My Exes by Snake City.

Snake City is a Swedish duo, based in Stockholm. Epidemic doesn't have their names, but it does say that they both started in music early, one in bands and one in pop groups, and both were musical in school as well. It's only been the last few years that they teamed up as Snake City. The singer writes the melodies and lyrics first, then the producer adds the beats. I'm featuring a few Epidemic artists for the next bit because I really like their stuff. I always find myself listening to Epidemic Pop mixes when I'm working and these songs are some of the one that I've come across. I hope you enjoy.

Year 8, Day 67

Hey guys. Today's song is Do Whatever You Like by Hallman.

You guys I'm finally caught up! It only took me working like a crazy person for an entire week, but it still  feels like an accomplishment, but now I have to unplug again so I can do some updating of my room and actually get the computer set up properly. Luckily though, I have the opportunity to set up some posts in advance so hopefully I'll write enough that I wont leave you guys hanging again in the interim. But from this point on there should only be one new post going up a day instead of the song dump that you were getting the last week while I caught up. So I guess it's good news and bad news for you depending on how you take it. Anyway,  Hallman is Viktor Hallman, a Swedish musician. He started kind of by accident when he found he could easily mimic his friend's piano playing, then got a keyboard himself, discovered music looping, and the rest is history. He's got a really promising career with his songs earning him 22 million streams on Spotify, with lots of tracks available so hopefully you'll go see those if you like what you hear. Unfortunately I don't know who the singer is, but she sounds awesome in this whoever she is.

Hey guys. Today's song is Head On Fire by Griff & Sigrid.

Griff is Sarah Griffiths, an English musician active since 2019.She started to get into music after listening to a Taylor Swift album, and started recording and producing music on the computer, using YouTube tutorials to hone her craft. She kept her passion quiet through school and said she was taking a gap year rather than disclosing her music career. She also chose to go with a stage name since as she said Sarah Griffiths sounds like she'd have "a mortgage and 4 kids, it's very corporate." She was signed in 2019 and releasing a number of singles, followed by an EP the same year. In 2020 she released some more singles, and did some work with other artists, before winning  the Brit Award for Rising Star in 2021. She was supposed to do some touring later that year, but for obvious reasons those dates got pushed to this year instead. As for Sigrid, I've featured her a lot before so I'm just gonna do a brief rundown. She a Norwegian singer, active since 2013 and has released two albums and two EP's since then, plus a bunch of singles. Her most recent album came out this year so she's still going strong and I'm sure I'll be featuring more of her stuff again soon. For now, enjoy these two together.

Hey guys. Today's song is Call Me by Gabrielle Aplin.

Gabrielle Aplin is an English singer active since 2008, starting on YouTube. She self-released an EP in 2010, then another in 2011 before being one of the performers on BBC Introducing, with her cover being the most viewed clip from the show. She released another EP in 2012 before signing with a record label, with her debut album released in 2013. Her next album was released in 2015, then an EP in 2016 which switched up her sound. She left the label to release music through her own, releasing an EP in 2017 and another album in 2020. It's also listed that she has an upcoming album to be released next year so keep an eye out for that one.

Year 8, Day 64

Hey guys. Today's song is Save Myself by Ashe.

Ashe is Ashlyn Wilson whose been active since 2017. She started out singing a demo in Nashville, eventually getting signed to a label called Mom+Pop. The 'e' on her moniker was added to pay homage to Carole King, whose 'e' is also not in her given name. She's written a couple songs for other artists, including Demi Lovato, and has been the featured singer on a number of tracks. The one she collaborated on with Shaun Frank earned her a Juno nomination in 2017. She did some touring with other artists before releasing her debut EP in 2018. She released two more EPs in 2019 which were titled as a two-parter. Her debut album came out in 2021, followed closely by another in 2022. I've featured he before and I so have more of her stuff saved for later so I hope you like it.

Hey guys. Today's song is Purple Sun by Cannons.

Cannons is an American band active since 2013 and made up of Ryan Clapham, Paul Davis, and Michelle Joy. The guys had been friends and making music together for awhile, but in 2013 they decided to advertise on Craignslist looking for a singer, which is how they found Joy. They released their first EP in 2014 before releasing their debut album in 2017. That same year they released another EP, followed by another album in 2019. A song from their second album started to get them some mainstream attention, being featured on a TV Show in 2020 which led to them getting signed. They released a single in 2021 that got them on the Billboard charts and as of this year have released another album so there's lots for you guys to check out.
