Halsey is the stage name for Ashley Nicolette Frangipane who has been active since 2014. She got her start by posting covers on YouTube and Tumblr. She was having kind of a rough time in life and music was a sort of therapy for her. Halsey is an anagram of her name, so that's why she chose that, plus it's also the name of a street where she used to hang out. Fate. She got into the industry once a song on her SoundCloud went viral and a bunch of labels wanted her. She started working on her album while touring with the Kooks in 2014. With the success of the extended play she put out in the interim she landed an opening spot on an Imagine Dragons tour. Then her debut album came out in 2015. It of course sis supper well, and she toured for it before opening for the Weekend on their tour. She did some projects with companies, including making a car single and releasing a lipstick in her name which is random, but cool. Then she collaborated with the Chainsmokers. I'm sure you all know the song. Her next album came out in 2017, which is where this song is from. She did a tour for it, and then has been floating around working on films and collabs since then. I'm sure we'll see more from her, so enjoy and keep an eye out.
