Year 3, Day 7

Morning! Today's song is We Could Have Had It All by The Hush.

So this is another band from Twitter, who is actually the only one not from Canada. These guys are from the UK, Nottingham in particular, and I never would have known who they were if they hadn't found me. That's one good thing about social media, how we can expand our reach and discovery things we wouldn't have. I can't even explain how much I love this song. When I'm having a bad day this is on the playlist to cheer me up, it's just so uplifting. So as promised, here is the band's Facebook and Twitter, but their website wont open for me. It might just be my computer, but this should be enough for you guys. Enjoy!

Peace.

Year 3, Day 6

Hello. So today's song is Chance City by Ruby Eyes.

I totally know where this was taken. I've been there, BOOM.

This band is a lot bigger than the other one, has more fans and I think that can be attributed to the fact the they're based in LA. Chance city is from their first album, and I think from before there was some switching up in the members. It's a fact of life that creative differences happen, or people just want to branch out on their own, but as fans we can't help but feel sad. I know when one of my favorite bands split up, I was choked that I wouldn't hear any new music from them. Sometimes though, it can be a blessing in disguise so I guess only time will tell if this band will grow from it. Either way this song is great, so you should give it a listen, and check the band out on Facebook, Twitter, and at their band page.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 5

Hey guys, today's song is Victoria Day by Derrival.

So awhile ago I conformed and got myself a Twitter account. One thing that happened right away is that a few bands started following me. I can only assume it was to expand their fan base, but I decided not to look at them for a bit. Some of those guys removed me after a few months, but the ones that still followed me, I went to check out their music. I'm pretty glad I did because it's all awesome. So this week is going to be all the bands who found me, starting today.

So this one I think is my favorite of all of the songs I'll feature this week, because it's so awesome! The storyline in the video is just so cute and the chords make this an excellent tune. Derrival is from Vancouver, so yay for another Canadian band rockin it, and they've been together for five years. Like I promised I would here is the band's Facebook page, Twitter and website. These guys are going to do well with music so check them out.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 4

Hi! So today I give you Cruisin' For A Bruisin' by Ross Lynch and Grace Phipps.

In the spirit of getting ridiculous songs out of the way, this is what I have for today. This is one of those songs that I'm slightly embarrassed to say I like because it looks so dorky, but come on! It's catchy and the dance moves are cool. I will always be a Disney girl at heart even if the better movies came out when I was a kid. Some of the newer movies have gems of soundtrack pieces and I think this is a fun tune for summer when you're goofing off with friends. Just give this one a chance.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 3

Hello. So today's song is Royals by Lorde.

Now I know this song has been playing here, there and everywhere nonstop, but I really like it. My thoughts is we'll get it on the list and out of the way quickly so the more unknown songs can stay a surprise. I suspect you all know this one so I wont give it much of an explanation except that I think it has a great message and she's a pretty smart teen for being famous. Okay done.

Now one thing I forgot to mention about what's changed recently is that I am a cousin! I feel more like an aunt since I'm 21 and she's not even a year, but whatever. My one side of the family finally decided to do kids, so now my grandparents have not only me and Sammy, but Mya. She's cute for a baby, but they terrify me so I've only held her once when everyone left me with her and booked it out of the room. I think the fact that I am not swooning over her makes her intrigued by me because she never stops watching me. With big black baby eyes this is terrifying, because it looks like she staring into my soul and is evil. my family just laughs when I tell them this, so apparently I am the only one with this fear.

This is the first picture anyone ever took of her, and from the look on her face I can only guess she'll have the same sarcasm gene the her father (my uncle) and I both inherited. It will be mayhem. What are you're thoughts on babies: cuddly or cautionary? Let me know, and I'll see you tomorrow.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 2

Alright, day 2. Today's song is All Girls Want by Tanner James.

So this guy I heard about from someone on my Facebook. It was forever ago so I don't remember who, but how awesome is the song?! Tanner is from Taber. Now I'm from Calgary and Taber is about three-ish hours away? Plus my whole extended family on one side is from Taber so I've been there a lot in my life. His upbringing sounds pretty similar to mine, when I was a kid I was such a country girl. I could ride horses, run around outdoors all the time and kick ass with machinery...thanks to my grandpa. I've grown away from that, but I want to get into my old self more, and his type of music makes me feel like I can. Check out the song and if you like it you can check him out on Facebook here, along with his website and Twitter. If I can, I'll  try and link you to artists and bands this year more than just putting up a video, so it's easier for you to find them. That way you find new music, they get a new fan and I feel good about sharing.

Peace

Year 3, Day 1

Hey guys! It's been awhile. Since...July? Yeah I think that's right. Anyway sorry I've been missing so long, like I has said at the end last time I was headed back to school and it has been hell. A good hell, but still something that took all the power I could possibly muster. Before I get into all that, let me give you a song since that is what I do. Today's song is I'm A Gangster by Willie J Stinson.

It's a pretty awesome sound in this one, the musics and lyrics flow amazingly. I love it and I've actually been saving this one for you guys for eight months. Most of the views on it are mine in that time period. You should really check this one out because this style of music is perfect.

Now onto the changes since last time...I don't know where to start. I'm done school, I finished my tests today which is what I was holding out for. Whether I passed those and will actually graduate...we'll see. I actually did a lot in my last year at SAIT: made all new friends, headed up projects, and really found my own. I feel like a different person, but I've missed doing this. Anna and I are still friends, but she's still in Lethbridge doing her thing so we don't talk as much. My new friends were doing the same diploma as me (Marketing) and have become my whole social life in school this last year...that doesn't really say much as I've never really had a social life, but it's something. Steph, Apple, and Shanda have been my group, along with some others, and we've had a blast.  We actually started a biodiesel research project which got me a membership with Enactus and presenting to multiple forums of people. I know way more than I ever hoped to know about biodiesel, but it was so worth doing. I took Marketing (duh) and got to do mock campaigns for different companies while in school, and I learned that I have a passion for the visual stuff. Every tells me that I should do graphic design courses, which I might, but I guess we'll see where this year takes me.

I haven't forgot about this blog, and I actually have over 100 songs ready and waiting for you guys, so I hope you enjoy and keep coming back. I think the music this year will be better than ever. See you tomorrow!

Peace.
