Year 3, Day 20

Hi!! So today I give you Knights Of Cydonia by Muse.

There's a few Muse songs that I wanted to showcase, but I ended up going with this one. Now I am not ashamed to admit I was first introduced to Muse by the Twilight movie. Yes, I watched it. The books were really good, I couldn't know the movie would be crap until I watched it. Really the only part of the movie I could stand was the scene with the family playing baseball to Muse's Supermassive Black Hole recording. Since then I have listened to a few Muse songs. That one will always be my favorite, but this one is pretty good too so give it a listen.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 19

Hey guys, so today's song is Surrender by Laura Pausini.

This song came out awhile ago, but I still love it. I kind of grew up listening to it and similar artists. I just like how it's about giving up on trying to find reasons things don't work, it's a song for letting go and realizing how great your life is. Sure it's mostly about love, but the concept can be put to anything. This is something that I need to do in my own life instead of looking at the obstacles...I need to look at the achievements instead. Starting today I'm going to try and do that. Bring it on world! I'm here and no obstacle is going to take me down. You guys should do the same.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 18

Hello. So today's song is B4 I Get 2 One by Miss Amani.

Lots of people know this song from Dating Rules From my Future Self. Now I knew this song before that, but it honestly was best used in the mini series. It is the perfect song for a breakup when you need to feel awesome. So I'm not an expert on breaking up, since I've never even dated anyone and my friends haven't exactly needed moral support for any dudes...we're a stable group of people lol. Regardless there is still a set list of what to do when you cut that person out. So in the event any of you need the list, here it is. 1. Wallow: I know most people would disagree with me on this, but it's good to realize that that was a huge part of your life and have a chance to mourn that it's over. So watch sappy movies with your friends in your PJ's while eating ice cream and crying if need be. Get it all out of your system because you only get that one night. 2. Cleanse: remove all the pictures of him, get rid of his stuff, change the name in your phone, so you know not to pick up...basically remove every trace that he ever existed. 3. Transform: Do something for yourself, go to the spa, get your hair done, full make over, shopping spree...whatever. Just make yourself feel awesome and let that be the new you. 4. Let Go: Realize that you are probably going to run into him again and depending on how long you were together, run in the same group of friends. In order to make it easier for everybody, have it out with him alone, tell him how you feel and that it's for sure over, but that you both need to be mature about this and not drag everyone down. You may not be friends again, but at least be okay enough to tolerate each other in the same place. There you go, an easy to follow list. This song would come into play during the cleanse and transforming, so if you find yourself in that position rock out to this, it should help.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 17

Sup! So today's song is Blue Sky by He & She.

This song has kind of become internet famous through the sharing of the video above. A little disclaimer. He & She id the band, not to be confused with She & Him with Zooey Deschanel. To avoid checking out the wrong band, I found the correct bands Facebook and YouTube Channel. It's a perfect song for the compilation of animals that I've linked, and is just generally a feel good tune. I frequently find myself singing it when I'm wandering around the house doing stuff, because it is catchy, but the catchiness is subtle. It's not so in your face as radio hits where you want to smash an ice pick into your memory to make it stop playing on a loop in your head. This song instead just kind of lays in wait until you've nothing else and pops up to make you smile. This neat little song is perfect for Mother's Day so enjoy it, and maybe even share it with your mom. She might like it too.

Peace.

Year 3, Day 16

I want to show you something different today. This is Peer Gynt performed by Sjællands Symfoniorkester.

They're otherwise known as the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra.I've been listening to this recording for months while in school. It helped me to keep calm and focused while doing homework. I love when people do stuff like this: the random acts of music. I believe that I've mentioned it before, but I just love seeing the evidence. People are barely exposed to classical music in this day and age and you wouldn't see tweens in a music hall to see that type of concert. So when orchestra's force themselves subtly into the public magic happens. I'll feature a few more classic tunes on here so you get all types of music. I hope you'll like it.

Year 3, Day 15

Hello. So today's song is I'm In A Hurry by Alabama.

So I'm hanging out with my sister today, and we have a soft spot for old country from our childhood so that's why this is today's song. It's also fitting because when at Sammy's there is so much stuff to do. They're leaving to go to Tim's Camp today for the work weekend (long time blog followers know I went last year) so I am cat and dragon sitting while they're gone. Which means I can help with the home improvement stuff I know how to do all weekend! There is a lot of reno's happening, which also fits this song haha. It's at least keeping me motivated. I'm sure most of you know this song, but if not give it a listen because Alabama is great.

 Peace.

Year 3, Day 14

Hey. So I have something a little different today. Here's a Summer Mashup by Lotus Cocktail.

Finally there is a day that feels like summer in Calgary. I can't believe it snowed last week and we still might get more! Ugh. At least today I can wear shorts, sunglasses and have my sunroof open. In honor of what might be my only day of summer, here is a mashup from last year of some songs. It's the perfect thing to listen to today and the DJ that put it together did a fantastic job. It all flows beautifully and I don't even mind the little bit of Justin Bieber in it. So all of the songs used are: Krewella - Alive, Avicii - I could be the one, Ludacris - Rest of my life, Will.i.am ft Justin Bieber - thatpower, Avril Lavigne - Here's to never growing up, Pitbull - Don't stop the party, Icona Pop - Love it, One Republic - I lose myself. Just in case there's one that pops out at you that you don't know. Give it a listen and tell me what you think.

Peace.
