This is it. It is the last day in my year long blog. When I got the idea to write a blog a year ago, it was on a whim. I just started one day for fun. Even though I didn't plan to do the blog till I started doing it, I've always known what song would appear today. I wouldn't tell anyone though and let it ruin the surprise. Not even Anna knows, which in itself is strange. This is one of my favorite songs ever. This artist has gotten me through a lot of stuff in my life. Listening to the CD at first, the songs seem very strange. They are unique and her voice is just amazing. Adaline is my idol. She is incredible. She is from Vancouver, which is in Canada and I knew her before Twilight came around. For that I am happy. I don't like when you find an amazing artist, but you get judged by how you found them. If there is any one song or artist that I wanted you to discover from this blog, it would be this song. So please enjoy Whiter/Straighter by Adaline.
I hope that my blog made you smile. I hope it made you happy, sad, perplexed. Most of all, though, I hope it made you rethink music and see things from a different angle, and open up to new genres that you didn't think about before. We're in a time in society where more often than not, the people you meet are musically enhanced. Remember that, and try it out for yourself if you feel up to it. Anyway, that's it for me. Hope you enjoyed this.
Peace.

Day 364
Hey there, it's Anna again. Steph's been lacking in ideas for this very last week. What a time to hit writer's block, eh?
Being the noble and selfless friend I am, I have stepped in! (Huzzaaaahhhhh! All hail Anna, our noble and selfless hero!) Here we have Ukrainian immigrant Eugene Hutz and his SUPER ENTHUSIASTIC BAND, Gogol Bordello.
If you dislike this, I hate you.
That is all.
ps. LOOK AT HIS MO'EFFING MOUSTACHE!! THIS IS THE MANLIEST MAN WHO EVER WAS A MANLY MAN.

Day 363
Hey. Today's song is I Want You To Want Me by Cheap Trick.
As we near the end, it's time to unveil some of the more epic and under appreciated songs and bands. Like, for one: Cheap Trick. Sure, now everyone knows this song and who they are, but at the the time that they were coming out, no one gave a shit. Which is really sad, since they are so unique. One thing that I want to point out that I heard and though was amazing is the base line. Listen to the note it plays after he stops singing. That first note after the lyrics corresponds with the notes of the next line. I don't know if my explanation did it justice so just listen for yourself. I pointed it out to Anna yesterday and it seemed to make sense to her so I'm not losing my mind. These guys are such a universal band. People of all ages love them, and I know this for a fact thanks to my network of people at home. If you haven't heard them, I swear to you that they're great. Give them a chance.
Peace.

Day 362
This song was written by a band of rabid raccoons in a boat off the coast of Iceland. Raccoons are not known for their musical talent, really, but it was either that or cannibalize one another. Did I mention they were stranded?
No. All of that is lies. This song is actually by a band called the Zutons, from a couple years ago. It's their most popular one to date and DAMN but it is catchy! I sing this song every time a get a chance. In the shower, in the car, while walking my dog- all the time. The combination of a memorable girl's name and simple chorus can make for some serious brain-crack. I'm looking at you, "Roxanne". Also "Cecilia", "Allison", etc.
Wikipedia tells me that Valerie is a real girl from Florida, and I think that's kind of rad. Even though I'm not usually one for big gestures, it would be nice ot have a cool song written about you and floating around in the world, no?

Day 361
Hello. So today's song is Accidentally In Love by Counting Crows.
I seen this video so many times, and I never understood why the bunny had facial hair and dreads...until I saw the picture of the band. I now understand. I love the dude in the video, his dancing is so fun. When I don't have anything I have to go do and am alone in the morning, this is what happens. Although I always am just making breakfast for myself and the eggs are edible, but flower definitely get everywhere. Now, everyone knows this song from Shrek...obviously. It's kind of hard to not notice it in the movie. It is today's song because it was playing on a commercial and I sang all the words along with it. I didn't even realize I was doing it until the end. So to share in the enjoyment I have and had from this song, I give it to you.
Peace.

Day 360
Hi. So today's song is Low Day by Capra.
I had no idea Kelly Blatz sang! Awesome, I love him more now. Is it just me or does the music slightly remind you of Valerie? I might just be crazy, don't mind me. I really enjoy this song. It sounds so happy! And I love the low low low low part, it's cool. Then he doubles my love by that high note he hits. Wow, guys in falsetto is like the holy grail of my life. It's so great. Anyway, check it out.

Day 359
Hi there. Today I give to you Maneater by Daryl Hall & John Oates.
Oh man. These guys are super hilarious. Just look at that mustache. I was watching the movie You Again and they mentioned Hall and Oates, so I decided to look their music up. There is a more well known song by them that I could have used called Kiss On My List, but personally I think of this one first. Why can't music be as good as this nowadays. The voice is great, the instrumental is great and the rhythm is easy to get sucked into. My foot automatically starts tapping to this song. I feel like if I could wrap up any band/singing group as a present, I would give these guys to Anna...she has a mad love for the 'stache, and also eyebrows. So if you out there have great eyebrows and a hilarious mustache, I suggest you move to Canada immediately. That is all.
Peace.
